We spent our time on the beach.Surf Hut was a great place to shop, great prices.

The hotel is basically a dive. They are tearing it down and rebuilding a really fancy one in Sept. 09. The only thing about it that I liked was that it was right on the ocean. If you book this hotel I would not stay in a pool view room. They ended up upgrading me to an ocean view room. The first floor ones would be the best.

If you are looking for a place to stay on the beach this was a great price and the deck is right on the beach. It is an older place that needs some maintenance, the fan in the room didn't work, but when I opened the room window I had a view of the beach and the pier and could hear the waves, at that point I could have cared less about the fan. The place is old but it was clean and the staff was friendly even let us check in a couple of hours early. It is an easy drive up Interstate 5 to all the attractions San Diego has, just try to avoid rush hour. But with the beach right there what else do you need. I will absolutly stay there again. There was a cute little cafe across the street called the Wave Cafe, food was good and the people who worked there were great.

We stayed in the second floor king suite with the view of the ocean. The view was awesome!!! We left our windows open all night and listened to the waves. The beach is super close and there is an awesome little restaurant on a pier there. I think it's called the Tin Fish. The manager was super helpful in telling me directions to where I wanted to go. The hotel is older though and does not have air conditioning. It does have ceiling fans though. The room and grounds were very clean. They gave us clean new towels everyday. The neighborhood was very quiet at night! I would love to stay here again.

we arrived the front desk agent was somewhat nice. the room could have been much cleaner there was trash under the bed from previous occupants. The bathroom was pretty dirty. We went to the beach for the day, then went to the pool that was quite small. Overall I don't think I would take my family there again for the price it was not worth it. The only good thing was the beach. Maybe that is why the motel is being taken down in September. It will be nice to see something new there.

The staff was helpful and super laid back and friendly. The rooms were so clean and the cleaning staff should be commended! I recommend getting a room with a view of the ocean -- during my trip in November it was nice to have the windows open to the sound and fabulous view of the ocean each day. They have kitchenette's making it possible to not have to eat out every night, and even have grills available for use! They have coffee in the mornings, and if you have a kitchenette you'll have a coffee maker in your room. The water pressure is terrific -- great for long hot showers.... This place is perfect! The pool is heated and the hot tub is quite nice -- very clean. The motel itself was very charming and reminded me of the beach motels I visited when I was a child. There's a great little breakfast place across the street (The Wave Cafe -- locally owned and the food is great and super cheap!!) and a pizza place that will deliver to your room. The area is quiet. DO NOT confuse this Seacoast Inn with another place (Seaside Inn) which is north of San Diego.

This hotel was an awesome place to stay with kids. the hotel is kind of rundown but the location was great, right on the beach. the rooms are huge but really old. bathroom is tiny but the price was great for a place on the beach so i was very pleased. being on the beach...who cares about the room, right? there is every kind of food within walking distance, plus a playground and the pier right next door.

"Hotel is dated, but that is because it is being torn down for a high rise in Oct. Hurry before then, the price and the view can not be beat! You want ocean side for sure. Who stays in the room anyway. If it were not being replaced I would stay again in a heartbeat. Stove, frig, microwave and the ocaen is just feet away. I am just sorry I found it too late to enjoy it again."

perfect location, right on the beach, hotel was slightly run down, needs to be updated, bathroom tiny and shower even smaller, had a kitchenette which would have been nice if traveling with children or you wanted to save money on eating

The room has a beach...not a boardwalk or a short walk to the sand but the beach right outside the sliding glass doors! The front door has the pool and the "hot" pool (in kid language) right there! The building may be older but it was very clean. The staff were very accomodating and made our stay there great! Don't miss out on this wonderful find!

Very nice room with a kitchen. Ocean was right outside the window. There were no amenities to speak of.The television was very small the bed was comfortable and the neighborhood was very nice. The upscale area of imperial beach. For the money it was great if view and location are what you are after.

"The hotel had no record of my reservation. after about 40 min. I finally got a room, but it was a smaller room. The view was great and even though there isn't any air conditioning in the rooms the ocean breeze and ceiling fans kept it nice and cool in the evenings. You definately want an ocean view room, it's the only thing that makes this hotel worth it. I will probably stay here again, only for the beach access and location. Great little cafe' across the street."

"Yes, the rooms aren't the greatest. There might be stuff ""growing"" from the ceiling fans. But look out the windows and walk out the door and who cares? Yes, we came from the Midwest in the winter and fell in love. For the price, how can you beat this place?"
