Whilst I was staying at the hotel the were in fact three coach tours also staying. Whilst this involved a large number of people who had to be attended to at the same time this and their presence in general did not adversely impact on my stay.

Scotlands HotelThe leisure facilities were not clean and the pH of the pool water was definitely not within the guideline parameters. The sauna smelled as if it hadn't been properly cleaned in a number of days.Service in the restaurant was dismal - my main course was sent back twice and it took the staff about an hour to serve me something of a satisfactory standard. Other diners were also being served incomplete dishes.

Needs refurbishedHotel smelled of paint. Hallways around rooms looked very untidy as only partly painted.No full length mirror in room - just the mark on back of door where it obviously used to be!

Very pleasant stayLift out of order but assistant manager took my bag up - 3rd floor! Arrived at 7.10pm and if I wanted dinner had to dine by 7.30pm so that didn't work - this disappointment compounded when breakfast was a real triumph the next morning and left me thinking it would have been good to eat there esp as Pitlochry decided to shut at 8pm for dinner. I suspect one pays a lot more as the season progresses which would be beyond my reach but it is very nice.

This hotel offered particularly good value for money and is situated in a central\location in Pitlochry. Staff were friendly and very helpful and food was good. \Xmas party deals looked particularly good value.

this hotel was in agreat position, had excellent facilities and helpfull curtious staff...only one small complain that the room was over warm during the night probably due to the very small window

The hotel was clean with a pleasant seating area and foyer. The room I was allocated was in the annex and I found it to be a bit dated. The fitting in the room were old with chipped paint and the TV was a good size but again rather old. The bathroom had a great shower and was well lit. Overall a pleasant hotel but could do with an update. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was very filling with a good choice of food.

Hotel very old in places, rooms are small and generally not inviting, next to extract ducts on roof, i have stayed in Carear hotels prior and think this has to be the poorest yet, despite a £89 b&b price, this was below par and no good at all, on the up side the breakfast was good.Had problem with door key and staff did not believe both us

Grossly overpriced for quality received- bedrooms badly in need of upgrading especially the en-suite facilities - the quality of the evening food was the only plus - breakfast also poor - would not recommend

We ate in McNabs Bistro which is part of hotel. £9.95 for 3 courses which is excellent value. The bar/bistro itself was a nice mixture of traditional and contemporary

My wife stayed at Scotlands Hotel on a coach tour holiday, wanted to return, so we had a short break, mid-January. The staff were very good, pleasant & friendly. The food was very good, cool porridge one morning, fairly minor fault. Altogether an excellent relaxing stay.

Only problem I had was parking as the people who use the leisure club must use the hotel car park as well. There was a small car park adjacent behind some houses but if this belongs to hotel they should possibly put a sign up. This is a very small critisism and my stay was very good and would definately go back there .

Stayed for 2 nights. Friendly staff checked us in and then opened restaurant for us to eat as it was late evening. Room was large but rather dated and there was some sort of boiler near our room (108) which was loud enough to wake us up and be annoying. Breakfast was a full english and was good. Asked for a room change which was granted but we were told that next room wasn't available for 3 hours or so. Overall, like a previous reviewer had said....OK for money if around £50/night (laterooms) but wouldn't pay much more than that.

I would stay at this hotel again if I could book via laterooms. I would not pay the £130 tarriff as it is not worth it.

We booked via Laterooms.com and arrived at 13.00 only to be informed they did not have our reservation - we went back to the car and retrieved the paperwork only to be told our room would not be ready until 16.00. We returned at the appointed time and were given our key - when we went to the room the bed was made but the sheets had not been changed from the previous guests (don't ask how we knew), the towels were folded and still wet (again not changed), the room smelt strongly of cigarette smoke (Scotland has a No Smoking law) and there were used tissues on the window ledge.\r\nWe went to complain and were informed that they had no more rooms except in the Annexe up the hill and we informed them that we had booked in the main hotel and that was where we wanted to stay, luckily an Assistant Manager came along and told the Receptionist to find us a room in the main building, which they did. Whilst we were in the process of complaining there were clearly a lot of other guests who were also complaining about various aspects eg booking, food and service.\r\nA lady in front of us told us how bad the food was so we gave dinner a miss but of course we had paid for breakfast and we found that she was right. The eggs were not cooked, the sausage had only spent about 10 seconds under the grill and we could not decide if the toast had seen the grill at all.\r\nWe could not get out fast enough but when I came to pay the Card Machine was malfunctioning and would not take anyones card - about 40 minutes later we left - never to return.\r\n\r\n\r\n
