The Hotel Scholz, one of the oldest hotels in Koblenz to still be in family ownership, welcomes you with warm hospitality and personal service.

The hotel is easily accessible from the motorway and lies close to the city centre. Both the centre and the Old Town can be reached on foot comfortably in 15-20 minutes. The river Moselle is just a 7-minute walk away. If you wish to use public transport, you will find a stop right outside the hotel. Direct services take you to the main railway station (only from Monday to Friday) or to the city centre.

Within the immediate vicinity you find supermarkets, a fitness studio, international ATMs, hospitals and the CANYON bicycle workshop.

As of this year, we offer the opportunity to receive 4 satellite channels of your choice, including international programmes. For just EUR 0.80 you can make telephone calls within Germany and Europe for as long and as often as you wish.

A limited number of non-smoking rooms, extra pillows and blankets, hypoallergenic linen, fans etc. are available (please reserve these in good time). As of 2008 hairdryers will be available in all guest rooms; until then they can be borrowed from Reception.

Guest Rooms
The standard room is functionally furnished with rooms tending to include a seperate standing desk, chair, bedside table and wardrobe unit with a shelf for the tv. The colour scheme of some rooms is scandinavian.

The hotel dining room is in a traditional style with solid wood spindle back chairs and wood beams across the ceiling. During the day it is naturally lit through large windows and a door along one wall; at night traditional light fittings provide illumination.

It was opened as a pub named "German Michel" in 1919 by the grandparents of the present owner. In 1944 during the Second World War the house was totally destroyed by bombs. Following his release as a prisoner of war her father Rudolf Scholz started to rebuild the business in 1948. The reconstruction/new building was completed in 1956. The number of rooms was increased from 12 to 30. In 1983 Mrs Helga Scholz took over the running of the hotel and it underwent a complete renovation during which all rooms were equipped with a shower, toilet, and telephone. A further extension followed in 1987 and this added another 36 rooms. Hotel Scholz today has 67 rooms with 122 beds. All rooms are equipped with shower/bath, toilet, telephone and SAT TV.
