Say hello to the bedbugs. Literally. On the third night of my five night stay, I discovered that the bed was almost swarming in bedbugs. Every time I squished the ones I could see, more showed up. Which explained why I'd been so itchy and my back looked like I had some type of pox - I'd put it down to the heat. Beyond that, the photos on the website were incredibly deceptive. The rooms were nothing like they seemed in the pictures. The television in the room barely worked - I thought it was going to blow up any minute. The sheets were stained, one of the pillows could quite happily have been used as a foundation stone for a building and the "ensuite bathroom" was small enough that to have a shower you had to basically fall over the toilet and to use the toilet you had to avoid the drips from the shower. Those things were livable - I wasn't looking for luxury accommodation. I'm on a backpacking trip. But the point where the mattress is nothing but the home for dozens of bugs... is the point where I leave early. Oh yes. Having paid in advance, I wanted a refund for the two nights I wasn't staying there, especially since it was an issue with them that I was leaving. At the word "refund" the staff mysteriously lost the ability to speak english. Eventually I gave up, since it was obvious I wouldn't get an answer. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, let alone someone I actually liked.

I was a walk in customer because the phone number listed on their website was invalid. I was attracted by the low price and the seemingly pleasant rooms(from the photos). The aircon double was full so I took the fan double since my mate and I were very tired from a 10hour bus ride from Chiang Mai and didn't want to walk any further to look for rooms. I wasn't expecting a hotel kind of standard but the condition of the room I was given was atrocious. The room was very cramped, barely enough space to put my backpacks, the ''double bed'' looked more like a single bed, broken window panes, slimy shower head and horror of horrors- bedbugs and aggressive mosquitoes! My mate and I slept with the lights on throughout the night because there was no screen to keep the mosquitoes out and despite that I had no less than 15 mosquito bites. A bedbug was found crawling on the bed before we wanted to sleep. Out of sheer exhaustion, we finally dozed off- fitfully though. In the midst of my sleep I heard a clicking sound and saw that the curtain was off the hook and on further examination we found that the nail keeping the curtain on was bent, meaning to say the curtain was forcefully pulled off and not dropped off. I stayed only for one night because I dont think it's fit to stay any longer and I will never return there ever again! By the way the room assigned to us was room 228. I regret not to have taken any pictures to substantiate my claims.

The rooms with bathroom and room service are very basic. No space for luggage, no drinking water, no fridge. The breakfast is very small. You have choice between two eggs with two toasts and jam, fruit with two toasts and jam or a pancake with fruit. You have to pay 300 baths as a refundable deposit.

Cheap Hotel in Bangok in a quiter area than Khoa San Road. I often stay in this hotel though it is very basic - the area itself has a load of character and would recommend anyone to stay in this area off the main tourist road of Kaoa San
