Mixed FeelingsFirstly we felt that it was surprising the hotel was classified as 4 star and its description does not match the reality which makes it a little disappointing, for example the description states it is a manor house in its own grounds which does imply a large property in large grounds but it is really a town hotel. The room was a twin bedded room and I had asked for a double which we were offered eventually. The room only had a shower and there was no mini bar or air conditioning which was surprising for 4 star accomodation. We ordered breakfast as room service and each time there was some problem, eg no cutlery, no butter/preserves,only one breakfast provided for 2 people. The staff always put it right but it was again rather disconcerting. The dining room and food was excellent as was the bar area.

Attractive front of house - but not much behindMy first impression of the hotel was fantastic. The front of house, lobby, bar, dining room all looked amazing and I felt that I had spent the company money well. However when myself and my two colleagues discovered our rooms we felt very let down. We all felt that the rooms needed updating considerably and couldn't decide whether the owners had run out of money or whether they had hoped to woo everyone so much with the front of house that it didn't matter what the rest of hotel looked like. To be fair the rooms were clean - just very tired and worn. This hotel could be amazing if the owners continue the rennovation and completed the rooms. As a result I didn't feel I had achieved value for money - thank goodness we didn't pay the full amount.

Mikes ReviewI would recommend this Hotel, only draw back was with sun beds around the outdoor pool being unsuitable for sun bathing, uncomfortable wooden chairs, not possible to lie down on. Not really a problem as there are many beaches nearby and everything else was top notch!!

Overnight stayWe only stayed for one night, in June, so understandably we didn;t get one of the better rooms. We were on the 2nd floor and the hallway was really rather tatty. The room was okay fo the £85 we paid, but the walls were obviously very thin as the room was very noisy - particulary when aneigbouring room used the bathroom and the fan came on, very noisy! Rooms on the 1st floor appeared to be superior. The pool area is very nice.Hotel quite well situated, a 10 minute walk into the town. The bar is a recent addition and very nice, a good jazz group play every Friday evening.

Jersey stayCustomer service could have been better, told room had a nice view. (Yes of a wall!) was given another room which had a view, but had to move room on the last night. This new room had no working shower (No hot running water). If you are working in the town the hotel is ideal and it also as parking should you have a car.

We arrived on the 1st October and had been in our room for less than 3 hours and there was work taking place above us in 2 rooms. We complained to the Manager, who moved us to another room in the hotel away from the noise. (Although on occasions we could hear some of the noise). However; in the other room the water pressure in the bathroom was terrible. On occasions, I had to get up at 7 am in order to have a decent shower! My husband had to use the kettle to top up his bath in order to have some hot water. We did complain about this, and eventually someone came to have a look at the problem (after 2 requests of my husband) sometimes they seemed to not do anything about it in order that the problem may go away! We were advised that the plumber was not coming back for another month. However; the chap did change the temperature gauge but this was no good really as you couldn't get any water pressure. The car park was not good. Some people would not park their cars incorrectly and would take up 2 spaces, and on occasions due to a meeting being held in the guests lounge, and thet car park being full, we could not go out at night in our car as we would not have got a space when we got back. This is not good. And this needs to be sorted out, as guests at the hotel and to the area, do not know where they can and cannot park at night.I understand that the Hotel is trying to get their 4 Star status.I feel tht they have a long way to go to get this yet.Having said that most of the staff were friendly, there was the odd one receptionist that was more interested in talking to someone on the phone than dealing with her customers, but on the whole they were nice.

The room was faultless, spacious and clean. The breakfast was perfect and customer service exceptional. Restaurant menu a little restricted, evening bar meals would be preferential.

A 15 minute walk to the town centre so not ideally situated. Only had breakfast which was just about adequate, but at non-busy times the eggs were not replaced with fresh. Room small and basic, but for what we paid it was adequate.

The public areas of the hotel are clean and modern. Our bedroom was slightly tired and dated. All staff very polite and helpfull. Buffet breakfast, but not much choice. The hotel is located on the edge of St. Helier but the 10 minute walk to the town centre is very pleasant.

the hotel was easy to find. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Although we only had breakfast at the hotel, it was of a high quality. We dined in the bistro on the first night, and again the food was of excellent. I would definetly recomend this hotel to people.

Standard Hotel - very friendly staff - basic rooms (with tvs that didn't work properly) but an easy stay. Good value for money.
