Stayed one night, and had to check out, terrified of location, people sleeping on the street outside of hotel, should of known better when drove up and there was a fence around hotel.

Location is close to GA Tech. Unclean & smelly rooms. Didnt even have soap in the bathroom, Unclean & smelly rooms, hair in the sink & tub.

Actually, I didn't even check in to my reserved room, because the front desk had unexpectedly closed up early. The ONLY staff member on site was the security guard, who couldn't help me with even a phone book or his boss's contact information. Were it not for my cell phone, and a previously-dialed number for a taxi, I'd have been stranded there on foot with my luggage in a BAD neighborhood. I mean REALLY bad. Next block up the street was a delipidated building with a bunch of convicts hanging out inside and on the sidewalk. I had to take a taxi to a restaurant so I could borrow yellow pages to find another hotel to stay at.

This is the worst travel experience we had in our life![...]. When he show me the room, roaches were crawling the bedroom walls, the room smell like a ashtray because of smoking. The other room smell the same, paint peeling from the walls, toilet seat with cigarettes burns or heavy stain. The third and last available room was a dump. I told the guard I was going to cancel my reservation and leave..he replied" I do not blame you, I would not work here if I would not be armed. Throe arbitration and breach of contract I will recover my money. I do not recommend this hotel to anybody. Location is on the worst area of town! I did not know, I live 9 hours away and pictures of course are deceiving!!!!

Cheap. Dirty, no maid service, no toilet paper, no shampoo, next door to a homeless shelter; hookers. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I stayed there only to save money and because I was traveling by myself. I would not allow my wife or family to stay there. The hotel is right next door to a homeless shelter, so there were lots of drug addicts, alcoholics and other down and out people wandering around in front of the hotel. There is a security guard on site, but I worried about safety while I was there. I saw what I am sure were several hookers walking the street in front of the hotel and coming out of the rooms in the morning. There was no maid service during my 3 night stay there. There was also no toilet paper, shampoo, towels, or hangers when I checked into the room. I eventually got most of those things, but was told that they had no hangers. There was a kitchen area in my suite, but there were no dishes, glasses, pots, pans or utensils in it. When I asked, I was given a few old dishes and glasses, but no pots or pans and no silverware or utensils. I was told that previous hotel guests had stolen those items and they had decided not to replace them.

When we arrived, the security gate was broken, there was an arrest of multipe people going on a few feet from the property, several of the bottom and second level doors were open with a variety of people wandering in and out. We tried contacting the front desk from cell from our vehicle, but no answer, the front desk area was locked, and no one ever came out. We eventually left to find another location due to the fact that we felt unsafe at this hotel. I do not recommend this Hotel if you are planning on staying. I am currently trying to get my money back from this event, but even orbitz is not very helpful at this moment, and it seems that orbitz may lose me as customer.

Very safe 24 hour security (friendly) right on site. This is great location 1st of all- midtown/downtown. I used to live in this neighborhood for 4 years. 3 blocks from the Fox Theater. Don't believe the comments about guest being scared for their life, they are just from the homeless shelter and are harmless. That being said, no this is not a family friendly vacation spot. But if you have a car, you can avoid the panhandling. It is great for young business travelers. TV, wireless, clean sheets, laundry mat, friendly 24 hour security was posted outside all the time. Their was no iron or cooking supplies as stated.

Actually, when I arrived shortly after their stated 3pm check-in time, their front-desk office had closed early for the day. (Later I found out they left at 1pm, even though my reservation was on their books.) The only staff member on site was the security guard, who couldn't help me at all. He didn't know where the front-desk workers or management were or how to get in touch with ANYONE who could get me into my reserved room. He couldn't even find a phone book to loan me for finding a place to stay, suggesting I could walk down the street (with all my luggage) and hope the payphone has one. I'd gotten there in a taxi I'd called, so redialing them on my cell phone allowed me to get out of that area, and go a restaurant that could loan me yellow pages for getting myself off the street for the next 2 nights.

Soup kitchen or homeless shelter across the street, groups of unfriendly looking youths loitering on each street corner. Armed guard who stops anyone from entered the hotel gate (with this neighborhood, they needed one badly). Our initial room had it's door kicked in when we first showed up, the second room was missing items. Police don't slow down when they drive thru this neighborhood.

Need I say more! I was in my room for about 15 minutes, then I had to check out! They were on my bed! I did get the travel agency to refund me, however. There is a homeless center not far, and lots of homeless men about at night while I was there. Not a safe area. DON'T GO!

The room was furnished well when we first arrived with towels, etc., and microwave etc. , but room service never came. When we got there the A/C wasn't working but started on night #3 after finally being fixed. The bed sheets were old and torn, and the floor was so dirty and black we wore shoes or sandels at all times. But worst of all was the location. Directions were easy but instead of being in downtown it was more in the projects. There was a homeless shelter about 100 feet away and people asked you for money, a ride, food, or to buy drugs every time you walked out of the room. We had to stop by the front desk every time we left to show our ID and the same when we returned. I am so glad I don't have kids and took them on this vacation with us. Over all we were glad to leave this hotel. Our vacation was nice if you looked past the hotel room. Not family friendly nor great business amenities. I know you have to live and learn and we did with this one. Good try though.

Nothing. The location was surrounded by streetwalkers, homeless people, and crime. The location was horrible. I felt extremely unsafe, so much that I left after few hours because I was scared for my life.

The Rooms were nasty. We could not sleep under the covers. The keys to the rooms would not work. They were gangs around the outside of the hotel. It was the worst Hotel I have ever stayed at. It is in the worst part of town. Do not stay here.

The neighborhood appeared very dangerous and scary because the surrounding elements hanging around the hotel. The smell outside the room was extremely awful, like vomit, hot garbage & feces mixed together. I coudn't wait to check out.

I called from the airport (Atlanta) to let them know I was on the way, but only got a voicemail system. They invite you to leave your phone number so they can call you right back. I left my cell phone number but never received a call. The office is only open during normal business hours. The rest of the time you have to check-in with the armed security guard. The phone was missing the handset. The ceiling smoke detector was missing. The bed was wornout. The air conditioning only worked as a fan. I only stayed 1 of the 3 nights. Also, the hotel called a cab for me, twice, 30 minutes apart. No cab ever showed (cab service claimed the cab drove by but saw no one waiting). I finally ended up paying an off duty guard $20 to get me to my convention! The staff was very nice but everything else was unacceptable.

the savannah suites pine street, atlanta georgia has the misfortune of being located in a fairly rough neighborhood. my honest opinion is that the hotel management and staff are working very hard to improve. they have a security guard that makes sure that you are one of the checked-in guest. the room was clean ,the air-conditioner worked and the beds were nice. we received good value for what we paid and if we ever have the opportunity to go back to atlanta we are sure to stay there again. my wife and i wish the best for the owners, management and staff of the savannah suites hotel. keep improving.
