This was our second time staying here. Beware the hotel has changed its name to Savannah Garden Inn. The staff was helpful with problems such as mold,mildew,and insects.The first room was awful, smelled, staff found us another room immediately.This room was recently remodeled and was satisfactory.We were informed by the staff the first room was scheduled to be renovated and we should not have been assigned to the room .

We have been staying here for years, it was like home to us but now it is disgusting. The housekeepers can not comprehend and they do not clean the rooms/bathrooms. They just pickup and makeup, no vacuuming or anything. Linens are dingy, including towels are worn out and dingy. I was so disappointed that I cancelled reservations that I had placed for another stay in Savannah. ClubHouse Inn is definitely missed, the Ramada takeover was a bad idea. The breakfast was ok as usual and the evening reception great along with the cordial front desk staff. The housekeeping is what is taking this place down. Even if you make a request for them to change linen or leave towels they won't. Never had this kind of problem at ClubHouse Inn.

I have been staying at this hotel for the last eight years, this year was the worst stay ever, there were huge roaches in rooms and the pool was closed for four out of the seven days we stayed. I only get one vacation a year and my kids were excited about the pool...and we only got to use it one day. Everything was NASTY. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The toliets back up and the management Spencer will not send anyone to fix them. We even asked for a plunger so we could try to fix ourselves. We finally spoke wih a health inspector that was on the property that was the only way the problem was resolved we got to change rooms...I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We selected this hotel to save compared to the downtown hotels, this was the next closest option not booked. It turns out they are converting from "The Clubhouse" to a Ramada. Originally the rooms we wanted were not available but I think they opened a wing that was not yet completed to accomodate more guests. The hallways were musty and humid and you had to keep your room AC running all night to be comfortable. There was a big group staying at the hotel that was partying in the halls and front desk staff did little to keep the noise down. It was a place to crash that's about all.

Staff was responsive. Filthy windows, poor beds, and terribly loud air conditioners. Would not recommend to anyone at this time. Sign said newly remodeled, what a joke! This was some run down hotel that they painted and put some new carpet in and put new tiles in the lobby. Otherwise the antiquated and extremely noisy AC unit was miserable for sleeping, the beds were slumping and awful, and no one had cleaned the sliding glass windows in years, filthy and disgusting. Not worth the price!

We are checking out this morning, and it's not fast enough. Statements that this hotel has recently been renovated are a joke. Other than a strong smell of paint in the hallways, I would have thought that this hotel is in serious need of renovations. Most of the hallways are missing baseboards and there are holes and rough wall showing throughout. The lobby is furnished with chairs and a table that looks like yard sale goods. Our room decor is?????? I can't find a word for it. Possibly someone allowed a blind person to choose the colors and patterns, because there is no rhyme or reason. The walls are bare of any decor. There are at least four different carpets patterns throughout the hotel. None coordinate. There are paint drips, plaster splatters, and dust everywhere throughout the hotel including our room. When we checked in, we had to request a remote for the TV, coffee, etc. for the coffee-maker, and cups. We were under the impression that we would have a refrigerator in our room, but were told that refrigerators are only in some suites and single rooms???? It was obvious that our room had not been cleaned properly when we checked in; the floor had debris and the shower had hair in it. Three days later, the same debris is still here. We had to request more coffee and cups, the remote batteries died the first day and we had to go get another one, they took dirty towels away, but did not replace them, no one touched the bathroom sink and used coffee maker carafe. It is obvious that housekeeping just came in, pulled up the bedspreads, gathered used towels, and left. The breakfast was alright, but unorganized, making it difficult to maneuver. The staff was friendly.

The hotel was incredibly noisy, the staff failed to provide us with basic things, i.e soap etc. The staff also failed to inform us of a huge family reunion party one evening, we had to park in the lot of a restaurant next to the hotel as there was no parking. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!

This was not a 2.5 star as advertised. Unfinished repairs, terrible bedding, and generally dismal. The property renovation was not complete and it looked like they were just painting over areas that needed more attention. The rooms were okay but the bathrooms were old fixtures, old drains, etc. The bed sheets were thin, like a motel 6 quality, mattresses were lumpy, blankets had burn holes and were the institutional type blanket. Just not a nice place like a Comfort Inn, Hampton Inn that are normally in the 2.5 star group. This is the first disappointment I have had in the place I was stayed in. They tried to upgrade this place but definitely fell short. This is at best a 2.0 but a 1.5 would be most accurate.

This was my second time staying here. What I saw was this Ramada seems to be practicing questionable advertising. According to their description they say ?Hotel features a manicured courtyard area with a sparking outdoor pool, rejuvenating indoor whirlpool, Hot Breakfast Buffet, evening managers reception, fitness center, arcade and 24 hour business center.? Last time I was here they were undergoing renovation they said and posted on their website, after I had already booked, that renovations would be completed by Feb 1, 2009. The first time I tried to ignore the many inconveniences of trying to rest here while construction was ongoing. This time was another story. Just like last time, the outdoor pool was padlocked shut. There is no indoor pool like they advertise. The whirlpool is indoors like they say. It is in a very tiny room. Last time the whirlpool room was dirty and the chlorine smell was overpowering. This time, hard to believe, there was even more trash on the floor than the last time I stayed. The evening managers reception my first time was a joke. The second time was no better. They say have a cocktail on us. If your cocktail is coffee, then you are in luck. The fitness center, arcade and 24 hour business center was undergoing renovation last time with the promise it would be open by Feb 1, 2009. This time, over 3 months later, they now say the fitness center, arcade and business center will not be open until late 2009 or maybe not until 2010. I could go on and on about other disappointing conditions and things they list which they do not have but instead I?ll close by saying we tried this place twice and found many things they list as not being there

I had a great time while in Savannah. The room wasn't too expensive, and I appreciated that. The hotel also had a cocktail hour in which the manager came out and served drinks that came complimentary of staying. It was neat to see the guests hanging out together. The place wasn't terrible, but the room was damp. You could feel it in the sheets at night, so it wasn't the most comfortable. Also, when I returned, my clothes were damp as well. The hotel needs a few more touch ups and care, but if the service keeps striving to do well, I'm sure it'll pull together.

Filthy room, halls, lobby. No clean towels. Would never recommend this hotel to anyone I cared about. Filthy! Hotel staff couldn't even offer suggestion of where to go to breakfast or sights to see. This hotel did offer breakfast, but there was no way I would trust food preparation to a hotel that can't be bothered with cleaning any other part of the hotel.I expect much more.

Two things should be considered before booking a stay at this Ramada in Savannah: (1) don't think that the "Midtown" description means you'll be near the historic distict (20-minute drive); and (2) if it's OK to find rust and mold in your bathroom at home, you'll love the place.

The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Room renovations and maintenance were not complete. Apparently Ramada has recently acquired this hotel. A vinyl Ramada sign hung over the original sign. We assume that renovations are not complete, though the hotel's web page says that the hotel was recently renovated. Baseboards had not been installed in the rooms or the hallways. However, the staff were extremely friendly and in my opinion made up for the unfinished renovations.

I did not have trouble locating the hotel. We arrived after 11pm and was able to get a room with 2 full beds. This was great since when the reservations were made a queen an rollout was promised. The only problem I had was my pass key was deactivated due to the hotel system having me down for checking out on Saturday instead of Sunday. The staff quickly corrected the error and gave me a new key. Way to go with great customer service.

The hotel was very clean which was a plus. Location. Hotel and staff were acceptable did not take advantage of the breakfast so don't know about that. It would have been nice if they had elevators more centrally located.

The staff was very friendly and helpful when I had problems. The first room we we given was smelly and the carpet was wet. The first room was awful, smelled, staff found us another room the next day that was recently remodeled but needed attention. The AC unit was filthy.

The location was convenient for getting to the historic district. We enjoyed the manager's reception and the hot breakfast was good. The carpet was very worn so the hotel looked run down. It was a good value for the price.
