Rooms were very clean. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Hotel was in great location. Wish they had a bigger pool, but didn't spend much time there as there was too much to do on State Street. They had a nice continental breakfast (complimentary), but that was it for food. However, there are so many restaurants nearby that it didn't matter.

Inviting decor, comfortable bed, beautiful ocean view. They tried to put me in a crappy room.

The front desk was helpfull and very charming. The room was great and the room service was fast and quick. We had a great time and will recommend this location to friends and family and will return again.

The hotel staff was VERY nice and friendly and based on what we saw in the lobby, we were encouraged that we found a good place to stay in a city that has few quality hotels to choose from. Check-in was the only good part of the stay. The rooms are old, the furniture is uncomfortable and I don't even know what to say.... the bathroom was OLD, small, and there was mold growing on the shower tiles. The Train travels directly behind the property and woke us up 4 times that night. Also, the walls seem paper thin - After one terrible night, we immediately checked out and moved across the street to the double tree resort. If you're planning to spend the money to be in Santa Barbra, go all the way and stay at the DoubleTree - It's worth 300 a night!

we played golf, went sightseeing, shopped and dined at some great restaurants. we highly recommend the harbor restaurant on the pier, harry's cafe on state street and lucky's restaurant in montecito. the interior decoration is beautiful. very tropical feeling. however, the carpet in our room was filthy. it needed shampooing desperately. we were also disappointed in the fact that they don't have a restaurant & bar. it's just nice when being out all day to come back to the hotel and relax with a cocktail without having to drive anywhere.

Very comfortable bed and pillows. No grab bar in bathroom or shower. The room was attractively decorated, well-lit and furnished. Very comfortable bed and pillows, large bathroom with excellent tub/shower. Entrance by car is a bit cramped and parking is by valet only (but parking charge is a reasonable $7.) Hotel no longer has a restaurant but does serve complimentary continental breakfast.

This hotel has charm and is in a good location. It was clean and the staff was friendly. It is an older hotel so the bathrooms could use an update. The room was large and had a balcony. I loved the down pillows and comforters and there is a great collection of black and white historical photos in the halls.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Santa Barbara Inn. We did not have an expectation so it definitely exceeded that. We went there to just relax and soak up the sun and we did. The service at the front desk was awesome. Everyone who worked there was very nice and provided us with what we needed if we needed anything. Breakfast was simple but good. We were so close to the ocean and a 1/2 hour away from shops and restaurants so we were always outside enjoying the sun. We would definitely stay at the Santa Barbara Inn again. It is a great place to stay if you want to be close to the ocean and active outside. The only thing that sucked was that there restaurant inside of the hotel must of shut down shortly before we arrived. I am sure that there will be another one opening soon.

Great hotel! I enjoyed the location (right across from the beach), the wine and cheese on Friday afternoon, the complimentary Continental breakfasts, and the fluffy comfy beds. Very nice and we will definitely stay there again.

Loved the bed, loved the staff, loved the cleanliness. Can't think of anything we didn't like. Everyone was extremely kind and helpful. The bed was oh so comfortable, we got a great night's sleep! The hotel is clean and beautifully decorated. The location is great as it is across the street from the ocean and a wonderful walkway. We enjoyed an excellent choice of wine and cheese for happy hour as well as the continental breakfast.

Overall our experience here was very good. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the location is great. A short walk across the street to the beach and a short drive to State Street, shops, restaurants, etc. We had a room with an ocean view and it was in perfect shape, perhaps recenly remodeled. As we expected there was some noise from the pool area but only until early evening and then it was quite. Didn't try the restaurant but we found fresh fruit & coffee in the lobby which was quite good. We'll probably try some other ocean facing hotels in the future but could definitely see us coming back here.

I was greeted promptly, and was checked in within 5 minutes. Then directly was upgraded to an ocean view room. Best Front desk experience I have ever had. If i could remember his name I'd give him a shout out but he knows who he is. Thanks again.

Cleaning staff was very friendly and efficient. Parking is valet only (or off-street) at $7/day. Nice quiet hotel with super comfy beds/linens. We were traveling with small children (ages 1 and 3) and there was no bathtub, only a shower stall in our room. I believe most rooms have an ocean view. Ours from the second floor balcony overlooked the beautiful Pacific Ocean, in addition to several homeless people's encampment in the adjacent park. Apparently, there is quite the homeless and transient population in Santa Barbara that we were unaware of. Our balcony also overlooked the funky no-tell motel next door. Still felt safe, though. Staff was great. The hotel restaurant was too swanky/upscale to have dinner there with two small children, but there are plenty of restaurants close by within walking distance that would better suit families. Somewhat on the expensive side, but you can't beat the location and it is in Santa Barbara.

Thought it was going to be nice but turned out to be a terriable trip. There was mold on the bathroom walls, bad hair dryer, bad pillows, bad everything I woud never stay there again. It was like a second rate motel. To top it off even their free breakfast was bad. Totally unhealthy and nothing good to eat.

The restaurant is closed 24/7 and there is a pathetic buffet forB'fast . Really awful, very much of nothing. There is no fitness room. It is valet parking only - and the reason may be to keep traffic noise down for 'mountain view' rooms. A room on the east side 3rd floor may get a mountain view, just barely. Very nice staff otherwise. They even left aChristmas present for me in my room on Christmas eve, that was a nice surprise. They may want it back after reading this review. Overall it is nice, but not my first choice.

I think people should know that this hotel has a serious problem with cockroach infestation. Where there's one, there's hundreds, and I would not doubt that. We caught or killed about ten of them in our room. I have never experience anything like it AND the hotel even acknowledged they had had a problem in the past. For the amount they charge, you would think they could take care of the problem once and for all. Needless to say, our vacation was not filled with the rest and romance we expected on our one year anniversary.

Was very well located, close to the beach, but the rooms are very old and poor quality.

The hotel was old and even though the walls had been recently papered and painted, the important structural things had not been updated. Moldy old tile and bath fixtures (smelled the room), popcorn over the cracked ceilings, broken too-small ceiling fan, no air conditioning, wall paper peeling off walls in bathroom from insufficient fan... the list is long. Additionally the amenities where poor as well; torn bedskirt, no coffee in room, no shampoo/conditioner or bath gel, no in room safe, no comfortable chair to relax on. Our room was supposed to be a 'garden view' but that turned out to be a view of a parking lot and the backside of another tall building; the only 'garden' was a bougainvillea growing on a shed. The staff was very friendly and wonderful, but the hotel was more of a 1 star motel with a nice paint job.

"Resturant is pricey and average. No coffee in room, room service available only durring certain hours, and the pool offered a menu but no one was around to take an order. I was hungry"
