Not a bad resort and reasonably priced. Beware though if you expect this resort to be "SMOKE FREE" - it is NOT. Most of the adverts say the 'resort is smoke free' but this is not true. Shortly after checking in, our apartment was overcome by cigarette smoke from the apartment below - on calling reception we were informed that occupants were allowed to smoke on their balconies or patio. For the whole stay we were forced to keep the windows closed and not use the balcony. On a couple of occasions even the stairwells stank of cigarette smoke. If the stench of other people's cigarette smoke doesnt bother you, or if you are happy to take the chance that you wont be near another occupant who smokes, then I would recommend this resort, there was nothing else bad about it. If you dislike cigarette smoke (or in our case, have children badly affected by it) then this isnt the place for you unless you are happy to keep all the windows closed and rely in the air conditioner.

Excellent place. The best I have ever been to and the best thing for my partner and I was how close it was to all the wonderful shopping. I would recommend this to all my friends

I found the accommodation to be both outstanding and affordable Sands Turtle Beach Resort is a family paradise its got everything you need from delightful restaurants to a convenient store, tennis, putt putt, cinema, day spa, gym and so much more you don't need to leave 'we didnt want 2'! The reception staff are exceptional and certainly go above and beyond to help with any request we put to them-no wonder they have won so many awards. Highly recommend it to any family or individual wanting a value for money experience!

Fantastic resort and place to stay. We had an excellent time. Having kids and wanting to avoid the stairs, we requested a ground floor room (Unit 204) located near the pool. This room was ideal as we monitor the kids play in the pool, but far enough away to avoid the noise. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Will definitely be staying again!!

a fantastic hotel, very child friendly, very secure, highly recommended to familys, we will definately stay again. The pizzaria cutlery/plates was not very clean so recommend eating in your apartment which was spotless & has everything you need. I would recommend ground floor units if you have small children as there is no lifts.

Great resort - a bit short on space around the units - they've packed them in! - but good facilities, several pools, tennis courts, free movies for the kids, nice little cafe on site. Vey handy for Surfers, Pacific Fair, Theme Parks, etc. Loads of family restaurants nearby. Unit inside was spacious, clean and reasonably well fitted out (the living room chairs could use a bit more support). Helpful and friendly staff. Good value.

We had a good stay here, only complaints were the curtains in the master bedroom did not cover the windows so lots of morning sunlight. Air con constantly switches off after 2 hours you have to keep pushing a red button on the wall to activate. Great for kids and families but pretty noisy

Excellent family resort. Excellent Wood Fire Pizzas.

Apartments are clean and have everything you could need - washer, dryer, iron and board as well as a working kitchen. Even had complimentary tea, coffee and milk on arrival. Reception staff very friendly although it closes at 7pm. My only problem was that there is a major road to cross to get to the beach - and there was roadworks that prevented us from crossing(29/10/08). Next time I would probably try to stay a bit closer to Surfers Paradise but for a family who would want a bit of peace and quiet, there is a lot here to keep everyone entertained, from crazy golf to choice of pools to BBQ areas. All in all, a good stay.

We liked the on site wood-fired pizzeria, reasonable selection and price. The pools and landscaping give a lovely, relaxing resort feel. Only negative was a mattress with broken springs, however this was replaced on request.

Very spacious apartments with modern cooking facilities. Apartments all have a verander surrounded by lovely gardens and close to one of the four pools. The cinema was not in working order during our stay. The beach is two streets away and takes about a 5-10 minute walk depending on the age of the children. Around the hotel there are many Chinese, Thai, Italian resturants. Across the road is a Subway, Sushi place, breadshop and BWS. It is about a 15 minute drive to Surfers and there is a bus that stops right in frount of the hotel. The apartment are not serviced and only supply bath towels. You can pay a fee for pool towels but I reccomment you bring your own. Our family had a wonderful holiday there that went to quickly and we would definately return again.

Facilities were fabulous out of doors but a third floor room, no lift, bad back and no assistance to more our bags was disappointing. Bed required replacing as did the couch.

Our daughters loved staying at Turtle Beach there was plenty of swimming pools and games for the children. So is a good family resort. We enjoyed cooking on the bbq outside was very relaxing near the pool at night. Good atmosphere!

A bit disappointed with the gym - bikes were old and rusted and a bit of a safety concern with the weights machines as there was no instructions on how to use each one and could not see what weight was being lifted. We could also feel the springs in the mattress in main bedroom. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay, it was quiet and relaxing and the staff were very helpful with queries we had.

Would recommend. Ideal for family holiday. Excellent facilities.
