If you like hard beds this is the place for you, if you have a bad back you will want to say elsewhere. the room was clean and so was the bath.

coming back from Vegas we needed a cheap place to stay so my girl can see Reno for the first time. Friend used my orbitz account to find Sands. For the price you pay its close to the small Reno strip. The room isn't too large but it had 2 beds and was clean. Not to fond of springy mattresses but it worked for me. Staff was friendly, check in was fast cause all was pre paid on orbitz. Didnt get a chance to use the pool though.

The restaurant. It's a worn out dump! The Sand's is a comp[lete piece of crap! What a tired, worn out dump. It should have been remodeled years ago.

The hotel is only a short walk from from Reno's main street, and it has numerous restaurants ranging from "Arby's" fast food ,and "Mel's" 1950's style diner to an all you can eat buffet restaurant.

We went to Reno for the Jul 4th weekend and after a bad exper. at the hotel we booked last minute online we switched over to the Sands for the 2nd night. The room was very spacious with plenty of space, especially for a room with 2 queen beds. The carpet was dirty/stained but other than that, the room was a good value for the rate we paid (less than on a holiday weekend night, last minute). Plenty of free parking, close to downtown casinos, Arby's Restaurant (and others) in the hotel. It's by no means a 4 star hotel but if you're looking for a casino resort/hotel within 2 blocks of the casino/downtown area at a very affordable rate then this hotel will do. Our room had a small table we used for the laptop, a couple of chairs, two queen beds, large dresser, TV, nightstand, room service privacy drape, small vanity & chair outside the bathroom, large bathroom with tub & shower. The one small complaint I had was the amount noise coming from other guests as they would come/go from their rooms...the door doesn't filter out much noise at all.

Large room with nice furnishings. Trouble controlling the temperature. Hotel located in a casino, which is fine if that is what you want.

Average room in Reno off the strip. The price was "right" for the Hot Air Balloon Races.

I woke up with bug bites all over my feet. When I called the front desk about it they were extremely rude. I would not recomend anyone stay there. Every!

It was what I expected, located close to freeway entrance and 24 hour fitness

The front desk staff were extremely helpful. The beds were hard, rooms dark. We had 5 small children and there was no way to get them to the rooms or restaurant without taking them through the casino. That was difficult for us and them. The parking was convenient, as was the restaurant, except that you had to go outside in the blustery wind to get to the restaurant without going through the casino.

A bit run down but ok for the one night. Good sized standard room.

Large hotel with nice rooms - very reasonably priced. Why? Did they want us to lose money in their casino? Well, after heavy struggle with poker combinations, after several rises and falls, I lost 2. But my friends won 11.50, and we spent 15 on drinks in their bar. Did we win or lose? Anyway, staying in this hotel on our way to California was a smart decision, I think. Excellent value for the money.

Large clean rooms, staff very supportive. Only negative was casino, where I had a significant allergy for the first time in a casino.

The room was fairly clean. We were placed adjacent to an elevator - very noisy. The room was pretty clean. However, we were placed right next to the elevator, although there were a lot of empty rooms available! The Casino was not a pleasant place. Lot of smoke. They started pushing the Steak Buffet the moment we got on the shuttle to the hotel. We gave it a try and it was deplorable! I'm not sure what kind of meat they were serving but it didn't taste like beef. The buffet portion was 6 or 7 different styles of potatoes. There was a disgusting salad bar and one vegetable offered, which was the frozen mixed veggies. All other eateries in the building were too dirty to even try, except for Mel's. We had good breakfasts there
