The hotel is way over rated. It is at best one star motel. We stay one night last week in the hotel. When we checked in, the receptionist couldn't locate our reservation even I have the reservation printed out. By the time we finally walk into the room. we can't help notice that the carpet is dirty, worn out with lot of dirty mark. The hair dryer failed on the floor and the ice machine is out of services. When we need to do the laundry, we notice the laundry room next door is closed. When we called the receptionist, who refused to let us use the laundry room. When we asked for suggestion of laundry services in town, we were referred to the yellow page. Finally we walked to the neighbor motel. The owner allowed us to use their laundry facility. I notice their carpet is much cleaner and their rate is one third less the Sandman.

I was very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The room was nice, but the hot water system in the hotel is too small. After coming home from skiing the hotel ran out of hot water and after waiting for quite a while I had to take a cold shower! I certainly expect more from a hotel that cost $118/night. When I called the front desk they told me the hotel couldn't handle guests coming home from skiing and taking showers at the end of the day. Seems stupid for a hotel in a ski resort. I talked to the manager and he was rude when dealing with my call - probably because everyone else in the hotel was calling with the same complaint! To sum it up they had poor infrastructure but missed an opportunity to make me feel like a valuable customer when I called to discuss it with them. My advice... steer clear of this hotel.

This hotel was not a good experience. The first room we were given had a window that opened directly on to another room's balcony. Someone could step right into our room. The front desk sent a teenager up to look at it and he was going to fix it with tape! We insisted on another room which they gave us. If there were elevators they were not pointed out so we had to lug a whole bunch of stuff up and down stairs. The overall hotel was very dated and a bit dirty. The restraurant, Denny's, was worse.

The room was very poorly cleaned after the previous guests ... empty water and juice bottles still sat on the desk and bedside tables. There is not even hand soap in the washroom. The pool towels were little more than hair towels. The washroom mirror was obviously wiped with a wet cloth and left to dry. This sort of attention cannot help but cause me to wonder what else has not been cleaned or changed ... Most disturbing is the doors between the rooms ... there are no locks, just "closet handles" that open only from one side. Not all that difficult for someone to work through, I've got all the chairs and loose tables in the room wedging the door shut.Considering the rate I expected more attention to basic cleanliness and security. I'd be prepared to deal with these issues in a room at half of what I paid for this one.

We stopped in to a sold out city and recieved a friendly smile and welcome. Check in was fast and effiient as most times when we stop here. The staff is very informative and quick to answer questions or requests.Our room was perfectly clean, lovely poolside with easy access but perfectly safe for our children. The value was what was expected in August, a full service hotel, easy to find with a 24 hour restaurant, pool and hot tub with reasonable hours. We were one of the lucky ones who got a room! Denny's has a good family menu and they do their best while run off their feet!We always stay here and if you have ever had a bad experience, you would be the rare few!Our family loves the Sandman!
