Room was small and dated. Washroom very small. Fitness room OK. LRT at door- useful if you are familiar with its use and routes. It is free in downtown shopping area. Remote control inoperative, slow to replace. TV small & Dated. Elevator to Parking failed.

Excellent location, the staff were very friendly. Only one computer in the business room and it stank of cigarette smoke. This was a great hotel for the price I got. If you're going to be picky, the color scheme was a little too drab. But for my purposes, it was great. The location is ideal, right in the middle of downtown and right across from the C-train station (the train is free to ride in the downtown area) There was a McDonald's, a Subway, and a couple of convenience stores right across the street. The staff were always very friendly and helpful. The only thing that stood out like a sore thumb was the lone computer in the business room available for Internet access. I had to wait for my turn each time I went there and the room reeked of the stench of stale tobacco as well. It would be nice if there were more computers added to the room and if it were changed to a no-smoking zone.

Good location next to free C train. Good value for money.

Bed had no bedspread on check-in, bathroom smelled of urine, television remote did not workMoxie's dining room was excellent, service a little slow.

The Hotel was outdated, i didn't expect anything and it's really hard to write a review. I would say that considering the location and up feel of the town, the hotel might have been much better, updated and stylish, but i only had my room to sleep in; thus, it's hard to give an opinion. My friend and i ate at the hotel restaurant Moxie's and the food was good. Although, i didn't order room service my friend did couple of times and her food was delayed for an hour each time and it was cold upon arrival. All in all, i would pick this hotel to stay at, it needs major work on decor, room updates and over all feel.

Restaurant. The location, room smells, beds and bedding are old. This hotel does not meet a 3 star rating. The rooms are old, smells, beds are old. Falling apart.

A great location. Very clean. And the tram along 7th avenue was free. But room was very dark and the closet was only 12 inches wide. The bath room was tiny. The restaurant near the lobby didnt even have marmalade for breakfast. For the price breakfast was only ok. The 1886, near the bow river, was far better.

The queen size room was much smaller than we had expected including the bathroom, that no more than one person could fit in at a time. The heat didn't work, the picture on the tv was fuzzy and i got burnt in the shower because the water temperature fluctuated alot. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone."

The staff at the Sandman in Calgary was outstanding! After a long flight, I was tired and my brain wasn't working as well as it should have. I needed help (twice, I am embarrassed to report) with using my key in the elevator, and again with finding a parking spot, and the friendly staff made me feel as if my comfort was important to them. I have stayed in many hotels around the world, but the staff here is tops!

Price only. Everything about the hotel, old, bed sinking, smells bad. The rooms are small, old, smells. Bed is old and sinking, pillows are small.

Moxie's downstairs was excellent. The hotel staff was very friendly and eager to satisify. The room was clean but dated and in need of renovation. The only view from my room was an office building and a roof top. I did not go outside at night as the neighborhood was a little rough being on the outer edge of the city. But, overall, I enjoyed my stay.

Nothing Unclean and poor quality. This hotel was very poor quality. The lighting was very dark in both the room and the bathroom, there were stains on the carpet, the furniture and the walls, the bed had the worst mattress that I have ever slept on being extremely hard and uncomfortable, the blanket was paper thin, the heater made very loud noises, the neighborhood was very dicey, there was no closet, but an ironing board hanging to the bare wall in the middle of the room, the door was cardboard thin and the service was terrible. I had paid for two nights, but the room and hotel was so atrocious, I checked after sleeping one night and checked into a different hotel, even though that means that I ended up paying for two hotels.

I've spent 3days in Calgary and I was great experience staying in Sandman Hotel Downtown Calgary. It was conveniently located in downtown, easy access to tram and restaurants. Also, the beer at the bar was great and food served at the restaurant was very delicious.

Full of shit for that price. Everything. Workout place sucks and the staff sucks. I will never ever make one more reservation from you guys. and I will tell my friends not to.

Maybe it's just me, but every time I tried to get into my room I had to go back to the desk and get the card key re-magnetized - I had two, kept them in different places and, still, they wouldn't work. And the pool was closed for repairs and the fitness centre smelled and someone had been smoking in my room recently. The restaurant was good, though.

Convenient location for my needs on this trip. N/A The Sandman Hotel is conveniently located in downtown with plenty of rooms. It looks like the company has not spent much on the maintenance of the property, generally dowdy and sub standard state of repair. The facilities that one would expect in an inexpensive business hotel like wireless internet access are not available. My card key had to reprogrammed 3 times on the same day. Staff was generally helpful, particularly the younger staff members, however the older ones tended to be rather surly. When I checked out they could not print an accurate bill, the one they printed had the room tariff included because the system was backing-up. Four days later, they still have not faxed me my bill as promised. That said, it met the basic requirements of a business traveler, clean sheets, clean towels, clean bathrooms.

If you have an oversized vehicle as a pickup, there will be some issues parking.

The manager let us check out and refunded our money for the unused portion of our stay. The rooms were small, the neighborhood was bad, the beds were uncomfortable and had nails sticking out of the frame and the bed coverings were poor quality. This hotel had a nice lobby and a good restaurant. But the rooms have not been renovated in a long time. The linens were substandard. It was not a room I would stay in.

Good service, friendliness, professinalism, accessiblity to transport and city. Lack of manpower to help with luggage transfer to room. It's an excellent place to stay, good location, helpful staff, with restaurants inside and very close outside the hotel.Accessiblity to public transport and very close to city.

Bathroom was immaculate. Downtown area is not where I would feel comfortable walking around at night. Excellent stay for the price. Parking was an additional $6.50 per night (Cdn)
