The Sandhill Crane Bed & Breakfast is a rambling adobe hacienda located in quiet, rural Corrales, New Mexico. High adobe walls draped with wisteria and trumpet vines surround the beautifully landscaped grounds. An old wooden turquoise gate leads the visitor into a shaded patio with intimate gardens. These inner courtyards are an ideal setting for small gatherings, birdwatching, romance or a quiet nap in the afternoon. The spectacular Sandia Mountains are always visible from the veranda where breakfast is often served. The artfully decorated interior has a charm and warmth that reflects a distinctive Southwestern influence with brick floors and wood-beamed ceilings. Paintings, weavings and native craft work can be found throughout. All rooms are on the ground level for easy accessibility. Nearby, the small village of Corrales has a variety of small shops, and several fine restaurants, some within walking distance. Downtown Albuquerque is only 20 minutes away with its many galleries, museums, and other attractions. For business travelers we offer early breakfast and use of our computer and fax. Small weddings, retreats, and family reunions are welcome. Many of our guests stay just to practice the art of easy living in an atmosphere that is relaxing and peaceful - a perfect place to renew your spirit.

What are your breakfast options?: We serve a multi-course hot breakfast. We start with a fruit course and then provide a breakfast entree. A sample breakfast could include poached pears with muffins followed by stuffed croissants filled with smoked turkey, Swiss cheese and herbed scrambled eggs. We offer a selection of juices, coffee and 12 different teas. Breakfast is usually served at 8:30 am. Time is dependent on the needs of the guests. Guests who are leaving early for flights are sent off with an expanded Continental breakfast of fresh muffins, yogurt, fresh fruit, juice and coffee or tea.
What transport is available to get around?: Guests need a car to go very far. There is no public transportation here in Corrales. Guests can walk to most of the restaurants and shopping in Corrales. Attractions, dining and shopping in Albuquerque will require a car as the nearest public transportation is over four miles away.
Do you have internet?: We have free Wi-Fi at the inn.
Do you provide parking?: We have sufficient off-street parking on our property for our guests.
How do I get there?: Would depend on where you are coming from. Albuquerque is an International airport (has a customs office) but the only international flights that fly here directly are from Mexico. So, one would need to get to a hub city in the states (New York City, Chicago, Dallas, Washington D.C. etc) and then catch a flight to Albuquerque. From there you would rent a car and drive north on I25 to Alameda. Exit at Alameda and drive west to Ellison. Turn right onto Ellison and which becomes Loma Larga. Follow Loma Larga to Camino Hermosa and turn left on Camino Hermosa to the inn.
