from the service desk attendant to the ground keepers every one very friendly and help to answer my questions. the setting very private yet fun. the room was very clean and well kept i had all that i needed. the view was wonderful with its private beach it was walking distance from shops, restaurants, casino. A lively night life i especially was very happy with the security for the hotel they were very observant and never neglect to make sure that we were staying at the hotel therefor no one who did not belong could easily enter unless there was a permission request from the guest. my overal view i loved it and i would return again and would recomend to all first timer's

This hotel was very clean and for the most part the staff were friendly. I do wish that the menu had more options (i.e. jerk chicken besides being served at the pool menu). The maid staff kept my room extremely clean and tidy. I do wish that the lighting in the rooms were alot brighter esp during the night time. Plus the rooms could benefit from mircowaves if possible. It is in the perfect location to shops, resturants and the BEACH! All in all it was a good stay.

The Sandcastles resort in Ocho Rios looks pretty from the outside--nicely landscaped, clean pool. But when we got to the room, it was not too clean--the bathroom cabinet had not been cleaned recently and the outside of the fridge was grimy. I sat on one of the chairs, and the seat slid off the frame, leaving me with a big bruise--there were no screws holding it on! It took three days to get a washcloth and bath mat, the shower curtain let water run on the bathroom floor, causing a water hazard. The outside noise level was awful--we were right next to a public parking lot where people were blasting their car stereos. We complained to the front desk, and they said they'd call security. Eventually, it quieted down. We requested a room change, which we got the next day.In this room, the bracket holding the shower nozzle fell off the wall. We think there may be bedbugs--we both had a dozen little red spots (not mosquito bites--these were tiny). Great location, nice beach, not well-run.

When we arrived we were ushered to a room where the airconditioning unit sounded like a motor boat and the cover was being held on by duct tape. After 2 days our room was changed and the new room was a little better looking, but the shower did not work, because the pipes in the wall were broken, and filled the entire room with water when you turned it on. We had to take baths for about 3 days using a bowl from the kitchen. This hotel should be torn down, and the land used for s parking lot.
