Description:
Sandals Resorts - The Luxury Included(R)Vacation. The fun never sets at Sandals Montego Bay. Always swaying and smiling and showing off its breathtaking natural beauty, its unbelievably long and perfect white-sand beach and its incredible pulsating energy, this spot will enliven your days, enrapture your evenings and awaken you to a heightened state of being. This place welcomes you into its heart and enters your soul so completely that, no matter where you roam, you're always drawn to come back home. The very first Sandals resort to open its doors and set a whole new bar for luxury and romance in the Caribbean, Sandals Montego Bay still continues to completely and utterly captivate couples' hearts. Born back in the days when only the rich and famous wintered in the tropics, the resort's original incarnation was as the glamorous Bay Roc Hotel. A Mecca for the jet-setting crowd of that era, the Bay Roc, known for its breathtakingly exquisite beach, was designed by renowned American architect, Edward Durrell Stone, who also created New York City's Radio City Music Hall and Museum of Modern Art. Today, every inch of this remarkable spotlocated ever-so-conveniently minutes from Montego Bay's international airportgives you an authentic experience of the good life, Caribbean-style. Feel the amazingly upbeat energy as it pulses and throbs infectiously to a tro/pical heartbeat, inspiring you to discover a whole new level of excitement. Walk along pathways that lead enchantingly through artfully landscaped gardens and you'll encounter mature fruit trees, laden with mangoes, red ackees and citrus. Get lost in the brilliant tropical flowers, such as oleander, plumbago, yellow shrimp and frangipani, which assault your senses with impossible hues of pink, gold, purple and blue and fill your head with lingering fragrances that stay with you long after you've left the island. Stay in magnificent suites that were once the private villas of the fabulously wealthy who once made the Bay Roc their winter playground. Experience the upscale leisure of days gone by melded seamlessly with all of the luxurious, modern touches that characterizes this, the very first, and always special, Sandals. Upbeat and lively, Sandals Montego Bay sets the trend for excitement, romance and service. Small wonder that guests keep coming back year after year. Only 10 minutes from Sangster International Airport, there are 5 gourmet restaurants on property plus 6 more at neighboring Sandals Royal Caribbean and Sandals Inn. Enjoy snorkeling, scuba diving, waterskiing, tennis, Jamaica's largest private white-sand beach, state-of-the-art fitness center, and a domed amphitheater for entertainment.

Extremely disappointed - especially for the price we paid. The food was very average and boring with little variety (nothing like what their website makes it out to be), the food availability was very poor. Was disgusted by the fact that we paid that much money and was stuck eating a hamburger. The service was slow. Concierge service refused to give us more than a couple of bottled waters a day. There are 2 pools (one of which is 3 feet deep) and 2 whirlpools the website says 4 but the other 2 are private pools. Most of the restaurants are only open for dinner. Breakfast & lunch is a buffet that did not change except for maybe one dish. The place is a joke.

Overall, the experience was mediocre. The beach, staff and food was fantastic. Unfortunately, that was overshadowed by the airport across the street (first plane takes off about 7:30 AM), the main pool being closed for construction, and the lack of worthwhile entertainment activities (the resort didn't have a dance club and bars shut down early). We vacation in caribean and will be exploring other resorts (i.e. RIU) next time!

We arrived at Sandals to find the main dining room terrace was closed for renovations and told by our initiation staff member that it MAY be open during our stay. The terrace was no where near completion and construction was the same when we left. Carpenters were hammering 5 feet outside our room until 5:00pm each day. Some employees were exceptionally friendly, others were not. While under a thatched umbrella one day at the beach, it started to sprinkle. The staff lifeguard lay right down beside us with his ipod in his ear and sang to the music then fell asleep. It took 5 staff members to wake him up at which time the all laughed and joked and greatly disturbed everyones peace and quiet. I had to ask them to please be quiet and they left. Other beach staff employees would gather in groups and laugh and joke in loud voices, disturbing the guests. The beach DJ was the most obnoxious self centered individual I have heard in a long time. He repeated the same music, very loud every day. Mostly rap music. What's wrong with island music? Bartenders at the beach hut bar were very slow. Service staff in the Oleander Room and Asian Restaurant were great, they really knew their business. Most service staff in the Bay restaurant appeared like they didn't want to be there and took their sweet time about everything. All in all, we would go back again but next time we would bring ear plugs for the beach.

the staff was fantastic. the location was very loud due to the proximity to the airport and they had construction going on at the resort while we stayed there.

We wouldn?t stay here again! We heard the planes overhead all day, everyday. The accommodations were old and lacking. The food was awful! To eat at the decent restaurants they require reservations, but since they are the only decent restaurants, reservations are often full. It was not a quite romantic getaway as my husband and I anticipated by the ads on the internet, commercials, etc. The staff were annoying by always interrupting you to ask if they could take a photo. Overall, we made the most of our trip, but we would not go back.

So this being my girlfriend and I's first time at an all-inclusive, we really had no idea what to expect. We were upgraded immediately to an oceanside room (everyone was upgraded somewhat), so that was a great start. Our room was nice with a beautiful view. We headed down to the beach and were bothered by people peddling necklaces, conch shells, and Jamaica's finest (you can figure that out). As long as you just told them you weren't interested, they would leave you alone. We headed to the bar where the rum was always flowing and grabbed a couple of well-made drinks (just ask the bartenders for their favorites). We grabbed dinner at the Bayside Restaraunt (the only one we could get into), and the food was presented beautifully but tasted poorly (an unpleasant motif of this trip). We decided to check out the party at the swim up bar (not impressed) that night and found only a handful of couples out. This also seemed to be a common theme at this resort. This day seemed to be a fair summary of the trip: alright food, good drinks, picturesque beach, and a lack of particpation in activites. Side Notes: - The restaraunts were not always open (the Oleander, the nicest one was closed the whole time we were there) and the two that took reservations were almost impossible to get into. At one point, there were only 3 restaraunts open, and only on you could get into. - The main pool was under construction the whole time which was a huge dissapointment. Definitely check to make sure this isn't true at your resort. - The planes overhead are REALLY LOUD. This isn't a deal breaker, just more of an annoyance. - FINAl NOTE: We devised the 80/20 rule that applied to the service...20% of the workers clearly did not want to be there, but the other 80% were so over the top helpful that it made up for them.

Everything was perfect! I cann't imagine a better vacation. Went with friends, and although the plan was to lay on the beach all week, we stayed very active! Playmakers are fantastic, and kept us involved in many things we otherwise would not have done! Evening entertainment was wonderful and the beach was beautiful. Couldn't believe the friendliness of staff! I am in customer service, and have very high expectations... they exceeded my expectations and then some! Everyone was friendly and more than accomodating. Snorkling was wonderful! Clive is an excellent guide and captain! This was to be a once in a life time trip...we are already making plans to return! Can't wait to get back!!!!!!

This was my third trip to Jamaica and I was not particularly impressed with this experience. It was off-season so the pool was walled off and closed for renovation. They had a relatively small beach swimming area but several watersports options with no lines. Service was adequate but not enthusiastic. Frequent loud noise from the nearby airport was distracting although it was interesting to watch the jets take off from close range. We were unable to book a reservation at one of the finer resort restaurants during our stay and had limited options for dining. Housekeeping was great. Security was very good. There were less entertainment activities here than at other resorts I have stayed at. Next time I will probably choose a different resort chain or try a Sandals at another location.

This was the vacation of all vacations. This was the first time my husband and I visited Jamaica and it definately not be our last, especially at Sandals Montego Bay. The entertainment staff is awesome. all the bartendars and resturaunt staff rated number one in hospitality. all smiles everywhere you went. Everyone greeted you with a smith, even the grounds staff. The food was delicious, your hospitality, service rated number one. Very romantic; had no time to pick out anything bad or any dislikes; had too much fun. We are already planning our next stay for our anniversary which is only five months away.

I'd have to say our Sandals experience was just OK. We got a complimentary upgrade when we got there to a beautiful room!!...but it was at the end of the property and our view was of a chain-link fence (who knows what was behind there). The entertainment was amazing. There was always something to do and the activity coordinators were very good at trying to get you involved. The beach and ocean were spectacular. We rented a cabana for the day that was inches from the ocean which came with a personal butler that was well worth the extra $100. The food and beverages were less than mediocre. If you like bland buffet style dining and rancid rum drinks you'll be fine though. Overall I cant say that our trip was bad. We had a great time together; just thought that for the price we paid we should've gotten more.

When we booked the honeymoon we thought we were going to this great resort; first of all it is right by the airport so you hear every plane that takes off and lands. Second, when you pull up to the resort you wonder where your money went it didn't have that 5 star feel like I expected. We had problems with a dog barking on the premisis ants in our room and they tell you won't be hasseled on the premisis but thats a lie. We had people coming over to us all the time trying to sell us everything under the sun. This resort may be good for some people but it's definately not a romantic getaway for honeymooners. The upside is the people there are great and will do whatever you ask.

We enjoyed every minute of this trip. The service and food at all the restaurants was perfect. The private beach was the best. The only complaint I would have is the lack of information given when you first arrive other than that we will go back.

Overall it's a great place. A couple of things could improve. The food was ok not excellent. Jerk Chicken off the grill and the cheeseburgers were pretty good. It will seem like there isn't much of a nightlife, but if you take advantage of the day excursions you'll likely be too tired to do much at night anyway. I recommend the Dunne River Falls and the Island Vibe cruise. Had a great time on both.

The hotel was gorgeous, the Caribbean Sea and beach were amazing. The staff was very friendly and made sure you did not have to lift a finger while on vacation. The hotel was clean and the food was pretty good. We had so much fun and cannot wait to go back!

Hotel was just ok. I would go back to another Sandals...Negril would be better. Food was not like it used to be just average. The staff was very friendly.

The Sandals was excellent. From the time we got thru customs at the airport until they delivered us back to the airport we were taken care of. The lounge at the airport was comfortable while we waited to be taken to the hotel. We were upgraded at the hotel. There were constant activities going on if you are into that sort of thing. We were just there to relax. Not having to deal with cash, tips, etc. was awesome. The food was excellent, all staff was great. Highly recommend! It is close to the airport and planes were going over all the time. We would still choose this one again over Ochos Rios because it was a 5-10 minute bus ride vs. 90 minutes.

Overall, My husband & I thoroughly enjoyed our vacation. Friendly staff, great food & drinks, beautiful beach & views. Totally relaxing! Our room was very nice & comfortable (although one of the dressers was missing several knobs)& we had a problem with the toilet flushing, but maintenence quickly responded. Sandals is all-inclusive, but we generously tipped our favorite staff members for a job well done before our departure. We loved our island paradise vacation & would definitely consider returning next year.

When our air conditioning went out they would have just fixed it or not have given us such a hard time about what was wrong. Instead of telling me well our tech says nothing is wrong with it when it is obviously blowing warm air on the coldest setting, they should have just put us in a different room but no I had to argue with them for 5 hours first and then the room we were put in had little bugs all over.
