Amazing place, it was like a very sophisticated adult version of summer camp with much better food. We hiked the mountains, lounged by the pool, played tennis, rode bikes, hot air ballooned. Went to cooking + wine class, gallery hopped etc. The spa and exercise studio are top rate. (And did I mention we went in July = 114 degrees and it was still fabulous.) I'd go again tomorrow again if I could.

We were met at the front by a friendly assistant who took me to the front desk to check in. He then guided us to or room with a golf cart. He noticed the cat in the car and waited for us to cage her before helping with the luggage. Sanctuary is a series of small buildings, some with oneunit, others with three or four. Most had balconies. Landscaping is terrific. Dining room was excellent. Pool is a beautiful setting and open 24 hours ( with a room key for security). Great place for a romantic weekend.

Everything was beautiful. Rooms are quiet, clean and zen. The hotel is made up of many buildings which house one casita room and one suite. All have commanding views of Camelback mountain. Staff was extremely friendly and the restaurant (elements) and bar (jade) are top notch. Only one minor complaint, I had a toilet that ran and I made daily calls to the front desk to have engineering fix it but no one came. I stayed in their basic moutain casita which for one is a very spacious 500 sqft. I am going back in two weeks with my wife and son and will be in their mountain suite. If you are looking for quiet, relaxing trip with private accomodations and great food and service this is it!

The Sancuary on Camelback Mountain is a wonderful place to stay. The mountain and city views from the property are breathtaking. The property is beautifully landscaped and maintained. The pool, spa and fitness center are top of the line. The room was spectacular, tastefully decorated and spacious with a lovely balcony with a great view. It appeared a mostly adult oriented place and I did not see any children in my four days there. The bar and restaurant are first class. The most amazing aspect of the resort was the staff. They were the most friendly, customer service oriented people I have ever encountered, from the front desk, to the bellman to the pool attendants to the room maintenance staff....everyone was absolutely the best. I would highly recommend a stay at this resort...you won't be disappointed. This was my first time staying here and I plan to return again and again.

My sister and I booked a two night stay at the Sanctuary because we had heard good things about the spa. We got a great deal from online travel website (especially since we went off-season) and the pictures of the room online looked great. When we arrived we were very surprised--our room looked nothing like the pictures online. The furniture and carpet were worn, it was small, the bed was uncomfortable and we couldn't regulate the temperature (something that is very important in Arizona in the summer). The brochure for the Sanctuary says the rooms are sleek, modern and comfortable. Not our room! We had to wonder if we got placed in the "bad rooms" because we booked online with online travel website ? Would we have received a better room if we had paid more money? I will say that other parts of our stay were nice---the spin class was good and the body srub and Thai massage in the spa were fantastic. Not good enough though to go back. Next time we will be staying at the Boulders in Phoenix or going back to Canyon Ranch in Tucson.

We have stayed multiple years. The pool, exercise, tennis, food, service, rooms and scenery are great. There is no entertainment, unless you count the conversation and ambience of the bar. The food is outstanding.

The Sanctuary at Camelback mountain was very beautiful with great amenities on the premises. The Casita that we stayed in provided us with adequate space and it was always stocked with the essentials that we needed. My husband and I were able to be in the bath and shower area at the same time because that area was that large. There was a comfortable sofa with great lighting right near the stocked bar. It was located near great shopping and eating places.

The Sanctuary Cammelback Mountain was a serene environment in which to enjoy nature and warmth of sun.Our room was modern and it has separate bath, stand up shower and opening to bedroom for candles. The accessories were meant to promote serenity; candles were provided, the lighting was track and also there was a couch with a dim light. Exquisite robes and slippers were provided as well as free packaged products. The refrigerator was helpful; and there was much to choose from. Room service was excellent; however menu was selective and the same. We did drive into town for some meals. The grounds were impeccable and always being groomed; and the foilage was lovely. There was very little noise and no children which provided a more peaceful time. Would stay again at any time.

The Sanctuary is a romantic, quiet, tranquil, gorgeous getaway. Once you arrive and taste the experience you will never want to leave. The pool staff was exceptional in their service and social manner. The restaurant's food was to die for especially their filet melted in blue cheese. Must try.
