Description:
San Simeon Pines Seaside Resort is one of California's Coastal Secrets as it is the only motel on Moonstone Dr with private beach access. We have a delightful 9 hole-par 3 golf course, real wood burning fireplaces with firewood provided, a complimentary full continental breakfast and more. Stop dreaming about the coast, come see it and create new memories with us. Whether you are one or one-hundred, you will never be bored here on the coast. The surrounding areas offer a wide variety of activities for just about everyone. San Simeon Pines is only a few miles from the famous Hearst Castle or maybe you would prefer a tour of the lighthouse at Piedras Blancas, discover the elephant seal sanctuary, laugh at the antics of otters while you watch from the beach. Hop on the complimentary trolley/bus offered in season, and shop beautiful downtown Cambria. You will definitely want to sample the many outstanding restaurants. Activities are endless - from beach combing to wine tasting, you will never run out of things to do. Families and larger groups settle in the center of our lovely grounds near the croquet and shuffle board games. Take a swim, picnic, read and relax in our gorgeous pool area, or in one of several comfortable Adirondack style chairs on the spacious front lawn or take some shade in our gazebo. We are very careful to place families with small children in rooms that do not have pool access. Some rooms have patios. Let us know how we can best serve your needs. Unfortunately, pets are not allowed at the property but several kennels are available in the area.

Breakfast was great; the beds comfortable. There was no WiFi network. This is definitely a spot to get away from the rest of the world. Quite, clean, picturesque and friendly. A great place to stay while visiting the Hearst Castle.

Great location. NoDVD player. Beautiful location and a helpful staff.

Great location. Very clean. Walls are thin. Heard the neighbors.

Location. Old, cheap sheets were pilled and itchy in the bed. Gorgeous location. Very little in the way of modern improvements. Room smelled musty. Reminded of a place from my childhood in the early sixties. Same old bedspread, too!

Close to beach, nice landscaping. Under construction. Moderately priced, family friendly hotel, nice views of hills, meadows.

Very close to visit site. The staff didn't know anything about the visit site, there were no brochures about it anywhere, or restaurants to use.

It is where we spent our honeymoon 37 years ago. Liked everything. Excellent location next to the beach and between Cambria and Hearst Castle, with a short 9 hole golf course and a swimming pool, quiet, well sound insulated with a good size room and an excellent free breakfast of cereal, muffins, fruit, beverages, hard boiled eggs, etc.

There were no restaurants within walking distance of this hotel and the hotel had no restaurant on the premises.

Location was wonderful, it was right on the Ocean. Older hotel room which had a little bit of a musty smell. Good location to visit Hearst Castle from. The hotel was neat, clean and well taken care of.

Beautiful location, quiet. Coffee pot too small. Quiet, spacious location amid Cypress trees. A room with a fireplace is a bit more but worth it. Overall a lovely, peaceful experience.

Walk to beach, had a fireplace andcomfortable bed. Clean, comfortable in a quiet area. Could see the ocean from the front stoop, could walk to the ocean within 2 minutes. Pleasant and peaceful. Nice breakfast bar. Not really trendy. Nestled up against a California park. Beautiful gardens within walking distance.

It was homey. It would have been good to know that the road was closed This was an older, very well maintained motel. It seemed like a place to stay for a few days, enjoy the ocean and the shuffleboard etc. that was available. The breakfast was good.

We loved the location and the room was open and bright due to the many windows and vaulted ceilings. The room was a little cold and did not warm up for awhile but when it did we were great.

Everything. Nothing. The room was clean. It was quiet, although there weren't many guests this time of year. You can play croquet, shuffle board and golf as well as take a dip in the pool. The hotel grounds are beautiful and after a very short walk you are on a bluff overlooking the ocean. It's also very close to main street Cambria, Hearst Castle. And the viewing area for elephant seals. We will definitely stay there again.

The 9 hole golf course. The continental breakfast. The location was good, the golf was fun and free.

Location. Dated property. Property does not compete well with other Inns and hotels on Moonstone Dr. Needs major facelift.

Relaxing. Rustic. If you are looking for a high class luxury resort, this is not the place. It's very rustic and low key. But if you like taking long walks on the beach, relaxing in adirondack chairs watching the sun set and quaint afternoons playing old time outdoor games like croquet, shuffleboard and a cheesy little 9 hole golf course (so much fun!), you'll love it here. The staff was very friendly and recommended a couple of very nice local restaurants. Rooms were clean and comfortable; even the fireplace was cleaned each day. I can't wait to go back and I won't go to any other hotel in Cambria.

Close to ocean, shopping, dining, & wineries. Did not have ocean view.

Location and atmosphere. Very clean room and the hotel grounds very well kept. Close to the ocean, although not a view from the rooms. Nice little golf course that I would have used with better weather. No extra charge for this, a real bonus. I would most definitely stay again when in the area.

The hotel felt very cozy and comfortable. There was not a thing I didn't like! The hotel was extremely clean with a homey atmosphere. The location was nice - off the beaten path a little bit. You could walk across the street and watch the sunset over the ocean. It was a beautiful setting. It almost felt like we were camping, but we had a nice clean hotel room to sleep in.
