generally good as standard hotel, situed in central area of naples with a fantastic seesight of nearby castel nuovo, from outside it doesn't look like beautiful but rooms and bathrooms are nice, clean and breakfast is rich. I didn't appreciate outside night street rumors, tv service and (most of all) no car parking

This hotel may be ok in Winter, but I would not recommand anyone to stay there in July, as we did. The traffic noice is terrible, and even though it is much more quiet if you close the windows this was not an option for us as the air condition did not work. We had ordered an quadiple, but the sleeping sofa that was supposed to be a bed for two was to small even for my teenagers - not to mention how it would be for grown-ups - and we had to put the maddrass on the floor to get room for two. To complete the stay the breakfast was the poorest we had during our stay in Italy, and I had to ask for tea myself as nobody came to offer me any. The reseptionists were very kind, though, but only one of them could speak any English. One good thing about the hotel is that it is very easily found if you arrive by ferry to the habour.

The hotel is conviently located near the port and 1 block from a taxi stand. The room was decent, but all night long somebody's police scanner was on. Every night for the 4 nights we stayed there.

Our stay was pleasant and the rooms were fine. One room was a little smelly but the other was good. Breakfast was provided and was quite reasonable. The staff were very helpful. The locaction felt quite secure and walking around at night was no problem. We had easy access to shops, restaurants etc All in all a pleasant experience.

Very well situated hotel, in a safe area, 5 minutes walk to the harbourg to take the Aliscafe to Capri, and 5 minutes walk to the old tow (Scapanapoli) Welcome is friendly and helpful for ditrections and advises for busses and trains to get to reach main touristic locations like Pompei, Capri ... Very good and cheap fish restaurant (Antonio Osteria) on the other side of the street. I would come back to Napoli, I would reserve the same hotel.

The San Marco is in a great location to explore the city of Naples: 20 mns walk from Archeological Museum, 10 mns from Palazzo Reale and down the road from the port, handy to catch boats to Capri, Sorrento etc... The facilities were basic but as described, the surrounding area rather noisy and rundown in places but the friendly staff made up for it. As a general rule I find Italian hotel classification rather generous, so I would class the San Marco as a 2 star.

This is at the lower end of 3*, situated on a very noisy dirty corner. Air conditioning not working, so had to have the windows open, noise and mossies were appaling. If you just want somwhere to stay on a limited budget this might do. Breakfast is coisants coffee and juice. Easy reach of port for ferries to Capri or Sorrento. Stear clear of chinees restaraunt round the corner, its infested,a week on and I still have the most horrendous infected bites on my ankle and arms.

Good location within easy reach of historic centre and all main sights. Room a bit spartan but very clean. My only complaint is that the aircon had apparently been turned off because it was near the end of October, but in fact it was still quite hot.
