This is a great hotel for the price. Wonderful buffet in the morning for 5 usd, friendly staff (don't speak much English, you should know some basic spanish) and as others have said, very close to local sights. My only complaint was that the doors seemed thin, allowing a lot of sound through them, and the bed I had was a little hard. Despite these, I'd stay there again if I ever find myself in GDL.

We booked using Travelinfinite.co.uk then selected the best offer they found for us! Really pleased with the results. All booked and confirmed ok and when we arrived late, no problems and a welcoming smile. Old colonial style courtyards with fountains (rather than gardens as it says in Hotel details), location was ideal for us. Not luxury by any means oldy worldy furnishings that fit the theme. All in all good value for money and clean with friendly staff.

Could not of asked for anything better for the price. Best value I have seen in years, if not ever.Service was great, rooms small but very nice and comfortable, and breakfast was superb every morning. I will be staying here every month when I come to this area.

In mid April of 2008 my wife and I took a vacation to GDL. The hotel San Francisoco was an excellent choice. The location of the hotel is a short walking distance to the historic downtown GDL. The staff is very helpful and polite, the hotel also assists in booking local tours. The hotel staff also has taxis standing by at all hours of the night and day. Some bars are also located nearby for those wishing to party at night, and they are walking distance in a very safe area. The food served by the hotel restaraunt is excellent. WiFi is availabel in the lounge area. The hotel is very well tended and is an excellent bargain.

Was here for 3 days and wouldn't return. This hotel needs a mega overhall from top to bottom. The only thing good was the food.

The location of the hotel is close to within walking distance to the historical places. The dining room buffett is good and delicious for a descent price.of 6.50. My room was cleaned each day and there are free bottles of drinking water daily in the room. This hotel has 3 floors with no elevator however it has friendly and helpful staff especially the Bell boy. The hotel can use some improvement in some areas but otherwise this hotel is economically sound and better place to stay compare to other hotels in the area.

I stayed in this hotel for 5 days in April 2007. It was descent for the money. It can use improvement like putting elevator, more lighting especially in the stairwells and in the rooms. It can also improved by installing high speed internet connection in each room for business people. The lobby floor can use a new tile floor. The room cleaners clean the room daily and the hotel staff are helpful and friendly. I'll stay again in this hotel in the future.

The hotel was centrally located which we really liked because we didn't have to drive most of the time but the noise is simply incredible. The walls are so thin that you can hear everything from the front desk phone ringing at night to people talking and partying. I am not a light sleeper but I couldn't sleep most days that we stayed there. 4 out of 7 days I had to call the reception desk to have them call the rooms that were making too much noise. That didn't work very well. I had to call and call again and nothing happened. Other than the noise we liked the hotel my daughter and I. THe brunch buffet is really good and cheap. Well everything is cheap in Mexico. The service was good too and the staff friendly. If it weren't for the noise it would be a very nice hotel. I wouldn't recommend it to light sleepers or you won't be able to sleep!

The hotel has ambiance. The courtyard area has comfortable seats in a beautiful settings. Rooms were large. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. The Hotel San Francisco Plaza was a great value for the price.

The good: Very close to downtown, price was fairly good, inside rooms are very quiet, nice colonial architecture with patios. The bad: the bathrooms are dated and not very clean, rooms facing the street are noisy, Fri & Sat nights outside the hotel is a female/male pick up area very

I stay here every time I am in GDL, I think the hotel is fantastic. The rooms have always been clean, the staff is very friendly, and even the restaurant has great food. Overall I would suggest this to anyone. I have been here alone and with my family. There is no pool or fitness center which would be my only negative however you walk so much in Guadalajara you dont really need to work out. Great place

We only used this hotel to sleep at. We had overnight flights to Mazatlan to and from Guadalajara. On the way to Mazatlan the rooms were large but clean and we had no noise on a Friday night. On the way home it was Saturday night and hookers were everywhere. There was blowing car horns all night and our room was on the street side. [...] Beautiful authentic hotel of Mexico but in the wrong neighborhood. Staff was great and friendly.

The hotel has a beautiful patio, in the center of the hotel. But the walls were thin you could hear people in the hallway from the room. Their food was great, friendly staff. The bed was hard, the bathroom needs an update.

The entrance to Hotel San Francisco was across the walkway to bars and night life. If you go to shop then this is centrally located in walking distance to good shopping. No elevator so we had to walk up to 4th floor with our luggage (no help provided). Parking garage was located a block away and no lighting for walk back. Hotel does need to be updated overall. Hotel staff was extremely friendly but not helpful. Lobby was dark and dirty, but it is an old hotel.

The hotel is not for older guest. The hotel is located across from a small park frequented by a very young and liberal croud. The name San Francisco is suposed to be related to a religious figure but in fact should be related to what makes San Fracisco, CA known for. The hotel is old and historical and could be very nice if the guess age was more in parr with it's history. Most guess were very young and some what loud.

The Hotel San Francisco Plaza was excellent. The design was cute and very enjoyable. It was family friendly and friendly in general. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Mexico. Great time!

Although this hotel is in a rather old building, it is well maintained and comfortable. It is within 5 minute walking distance from Guadalajara Centro, for great shopping, beautiful old churches and relaxing atmosphere. The staff was polite, friendly, and helpful. We liked it enough that we returned to this hotel after a few days at Lake Chapala. One bit of advise, avoid the rooms facing the street as they can be a bit noisy. Good value for the money.
