Other amenities/services: Rooms with Direct dial telephone. Breakfast room. Conference room capacity: 40 persons.Hotel San Francesco is situated in Trestevere, the most ancient and characteristic area of Rome. Inaugurated in August 2001 after a careful and valuable restructuring process, Hotel San Francesco is 30 kilometers from the airport. Stroll the romantic narrow streets of Rome from the hotel and reach the squares, monuments and most elegant streets of the capital. Walk to the Piazza Navona and glimpse into the Roman style of the 17th century summed up through the monumental style by the family of Pope Innocent X (Pamphili). Sample the chic and cheap at nearby narrow streets around Campo de' Fiori that hold some of Rome's most intriguing shops. Gambero Rosso leads the way. Make your visit worthwhile with a trip to the Spanish Steps, named after a local 17th century ambassador's residence. No ordinary staircase, the steps are a bewildering mix of curves, straight flights, vistas, and terraces, usually covered with huge pots of flowers and lounging sightseers. The elegantly furnished rooms all offer the most cherished comforts. The hotel's highlight is its breakfast room that faces on to a 15th century cloister. Hotel San Francesco offers a wonderful terrace with panoramic views over Rome, available to clients for breakfast or enchanting evening cocktail. In addition, the hotel has a meeting room that can host up to 40 people. The hotel is in an enviable location convenient to dining, shopping and entertainment venues.

A nice hotel in a great area, within easy walking distance of all the great bars and restaurants in Trastevere, which is an area I would highly recommend. The hotel has a great roof bar which I would recomend for a quick drink or two as the views are lovely. The hotel also serves very generous breakfasts. The room we stayed in was small and a bit on the shabby side, but was adequate, clean and the bathroom was a good size. Staff are polite and efficient.

Stayed at Hotel San Francesco for 3 days. Excellent hotel at low rates. Loads of nice restaurants nearby. Unfortunately, italian chefs obviously can't make delicious food :(

You might have to wait for a breakfast table be become free, becaus the hotel manager is having her breakfast. Otherwise it is a great hotel. Location is excellent, cleanliness for a italian hotel extremely good and staff very helpful.

Breakfast is awesome! Huge amount of choices. Staff is friendly, helpful and extremely pleasant. Have stayed here several times and love it. The area is much like SoHO in NYC. Fewer tourist but lovely shops and restaurants. The Di Paolo Rest around the corner is wonderful - say hello to Lucca. Brush up on your Italian - mama and papa do not speak english.

A very pleasant hotel! It is a long way to walk to the old city centre several times a day, but the river and the bridges are beautiful, and it makes you se places of town you otherwise won't see. Halv an hour walk takes you everywhere!

Had a wonderful 5 day stay in Hotel San Francesco - Trastevere is such a great area to stay in, nice and relaxing with lots of cheap, quality restaurants after a days sightseeing. The room was smallish - but that shouldn't be a deterrant as it was well laid out with a lovely bathroom. They also have a roof garden - we didn't use too much due to the weather but i'd say it'd be great in the summer after a days sightseeing.

The Hotel San Francesco is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in and I would enthusiastically recommend this hotel to any people visiting Rome, Italy. They have a beautiful, roof-top garden area overlooking an ancient monastary with great views and a huge, breakfast buffet every morning and the hotel staff were very helpful and gracious. My room had the most beautiful bathroom with painted blue walls and great shutter windows that looked down into the church courtyard next door. The location is also excellent. This is a fantastic hotel and quite affordable as well.

It's a very good hotel well located on Trastevere neighborhood . Efficient service on the front desk and good rooms on a reasonably price at Rome. Nice places to eat on the nearby and 25 minutes of good walking to the coliseum area. I've only one complain about the service as I forgot an notebook case (without the notebook) there and after many contacts with them they don't come back with an answer, showing an poor post stay service, different from the good service I had at reception

Arriving on December 23 we spent 4 wonderful Christmas days in Rome with this gem of a hotel as our base. We'll never forget the beautiful Christmas midnight mass in "Santa Maria in Trastevere", the very nice people at the hotel and the splendid breakfast buffet.
