Fantastic hotel. Only hotel close to Venice with grounds, large swimming pool, tennis courts and boat every 20 minutes to St Marks square. Pricey but worth the premium for luxury.

Lovely location on an island, away from the crowdy venetian streets. Bit difficult to find the boat departure, it is between de gondolas and the gardens. Once on the boat you feel the stress of the mass-populated city wash away. The island is a haven of rest - so is your room. Nice amenities including hair conditioner. With rain you are provided with an umbrella.

The hotel and surroundings were beautiful. The private boat between San Marco and the hotel worked very well and it was lovely to leave the hustle and bustle and reach what seemed like our own private island. We also took a free boat trip to the Murano glass factory which the hotel staff kindly arranged. The buffet breakfasts were amazing and we were spoilt for choice. A truly wonderful place to stay with helpful, well trained and friendly staff.

I was in a party of six that stayed here from the 14th of March to the 17th and found our stay to be excellent. The setting of the hotel on its own island in the Venice lagoon was spectacular. The hotel and staff were top class. Travelling to and from the hotel by private motor-boat added greatly to the whole experience of visiting Venice. All six of us enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend the San Clemente Palace Hotel & Resort Venice.

We stayed at the San Clemente Palace Hotel in Venice only for one night. The hotel itself was truely amazing. It was set in beautiful surroundings. In fact it looked like the San Clemente Island was only accomodated by the hotel, so it felt like an exclusive hotel. The staff were utterly professional and we were also upgraded to a Deluxe room upon arrival. We stayed there in January 2008, so the weather was not good. It was wet, windy and cold and as the only way to access the Island (where the hotel is located) is through a 10 minute journey on the canal (via a private shuttel the hotel provide for free) which are scheduled on average every 30 minutes. Due to the weather we ended up having both lunch and dinner at the hotel which in total cost us about 230 Euros. Next time I go to Venise I would probably want to stay in San Marco so that you do not have to think about the travelling back to the hotel at the end of the night.

A friend described the San Clemente as like a liner, permanently moored. The scale is enormous. Service is attentive but impersonal. One concierge was great, the other not so. In two visits I and friends had problems over dinner reservations, met with an inflexible response. The breakfast buffet can be rather pressurised. Internet facilities are poor (including one wonky keyboard), given the island location and the number of guests. It didn't help that I was eaten alive by mosquitoes.

My 86yr. old mother and I waited 1-2 hrs. for a room near the elavator. The 1st available res. for dinner was 9;30. The chz. buger and beef sandwich in the bar cost $50. Robbery! The waiter was not friendly. The bellman did not get our baggage @ 0730 as promised and I had to fetch them myself. The hotel has no accountability and the total opposite of our Crystal cruise.....

The San Clemente is a stunning grand hotel on it's own private island. My boyfriend and I stayed there for 4 night at the beginning of May 2006. What a wonderful time we had. The service and especially service recovery (we received a beautiful complimentary bowl of fruit just because we had a problem with our key for 10 mins!) was fantastic. The setting is divine and the grounds are a welcome peaceful retreat from the noise of San Marco. The food and drink is a bit pricey but what 5star luxury hotel isn't? The Ca dei frati restaurant was quite simply the finest culinary experience of our life. We went in there on our last night as it was my 35th birthday and received a free glass of champagne on arrival (we had already had free bottle of shampers in our room from the hotel as birthday gift!)We had 2 different complimentary 'chef's choice' tasters before our starters and amazing food for our meal. My boyfriend asked the hotel to do a birthday cake for me (admittedly he was charged for it) and I was presented with a stunning choc cake. Our whole experience at San Clemente was one of luxury and class and we absolutely did not want to leave. We loved the boat journey(less than 15 mins) as we love being on the water although admittedly it may not be for everyone. I had an amazing massage in the spa and we used the gym, hot tubs, strolled the grounds and felt truly relaxed. I adore Venice and now I adore San Clemente and won't stay anywhere else in Venice again.

The San Clemente Palace was all I hoped it would be. We arrived at 11.30 am and our room was not ready, so we had a coffe and sandwich in the bar. Both were excellent. The room was fantastic with a great view. Slippers and robes were provided by the hotel. The bed was turned down each evening and a complementary bottle of water provided. There was also a card with the weather forecast for the next day to help us plan our trip - a great touch! The food in the restaurant was excellent, but a little expensive. The boat trip to and from St Marks Square was great fun and took about 12 minutes. All in all, a great break in a fabulous hotel.

Very nice and quiet hotel (occupying all an island) outside Venice, 15 mn by vaporetto (each 20 mn) without additional charge. Luxuous rooms (we were overclassed in a junior suite for 7 nights). Very good quality of service. Restaurant expansive.

The San Clemente is an excellent hotel. On arrival we were upgraded to a junior suite which was superb as it was Valentines. The welcome was both warm and professional and we found the staff always on hand to help in any way. The boat ride from the hotel to venice is only 10 minutes and is very efficent and comfortable. A lovely touch was the availability of courtesy umbrellas for those rainy days. The free hot tub and sauna facilities in the spa were extremely welcome after a day walking the alleyways of Venice. With beautiful surroundings, excellent staff, superb rooms and Venice on your doorstep, I would reccommend the San Clemente to anyone. Although our stay was only 4 nights it was one of the best hotel expieriences we have had. Many thanks to Venere and the San Clemente

My partner and I spent 2 nights at the San Clemente Palace in late January and found the hotel to be perfect in every way. We stayed in a junior suite which turned out to be everything that we had expected and more. The huge all marble bathroom put the finishing touches on what was a fantastic bedroom. The breakfast was lovely, with everything to choose, from cereals to scrambled eggs. The 10 minute shuttle boat from st Marks Square to the hotel was something that I thought could be a negative, but it turned out to be a wonderful experience that made the 'venise experience' even more amazing. The boats run every 20 minutes and are extremely comfortable. Overall, a stay that we will never forget and a hotel that is right up there with the best in the world!

A magnificent hotel, the welcome we received warmed up a bitterly cold day. A fantastic location to enjoy the first class service and the beautiful building with lots of little treats and special touches to make our honeymoon complete.

San Clemente is on a little island about 7 minutes away from the hotspots of Venice. Water shuttles operate continuously to take you back and forth, but you'll find that after a long day of walking the time it takes between waiting for a shuttle and falling into your bed is a drawback, especially given that you've probably walked past several 5 star hotels on the way to the water shuttle. The hotel is beautiful, breakfast is amazing, and the grounds are quite impressive if you would rather spend your time playing golf or tennis than exploring venice. Water pressure is poor in the bathrooms, which is a surprise given how luxurious the bathrooms are. At night the water temperature for a bath can only be described as 'warm'. I was delighted to see that there was free internet access provided at several kiosks. On the night I actually needed them to print itenerary info all but one was broken. The concierge could only shrug his shoulders and apologize when i asked for assistance. Anyone with travel experience should know that in a five star hotel staff should -never- shrug their shoulders. Any hotel worth it's salt will offer up a computer in their offices, a laptop from a staff employee, or immediately call in a technician to investigate the problem. This is not snobbery; this is based on my personal experience with luxury hotels. I wouldn't stay at the San Clemente Palace Hotel & Resort Venice again because it wasn't spectacular enough to make me a regular patron.

The property is Amazing. Pool could be bigger. Dining facilities and Spa are an A+. When I checked in they upgraded me to a junior suite for free. The room was 3 times larger than a regular size and made me feel very comfortable. I would go back anytime. Way better than the Cipriani. But a little farther away from San Marco sq.
