Convenient walking distance from theatres, restaurants, shops etc. Greatly entertained by the lively owner, Pascal! Parking spaces are tight so bring a small car!

Great Location, Room just OK.We booked this early, Wednesday Morning, last minute thing. On arrival at the Salamander we were met with a lovely warm welcome. The location is great, just a short walk across the road and you are in the wonderful town centre of Stratford. The room we had was clean with a double bed, and a single in the other corner. The only thing which was the shower unit, which was also in the bedroom, in the opposite corner. Tea, and Coffee supplied, but no biscuits, TV you have to crane your neck at if lying on the bed, and only basic 4 channels. The other problem was floor noise, when anybody above you moved around in there room, or turned taps. flushed toilets, the noise, was annoying., Shower cold in morning!!!!! The breakfast in the morning was ok, although bacon was dry and over cooked. The owner is lovely and witty, and puts every one at there ease. Thought it was ok, but there where nicer looking B&B`s nearer by. For a one off, we enjoyed it, and Stratford is a wonderful place, especially around the Canal.

Good location, eccentric hostThe location is excellent - less than 5 mins from Shakespeare's birth place. The car park is VERY tight (we damaged our car), but the host will park and collect your car for you. I recommend that you ask him to do so. He is VERY friendly and chatty and wants his guests to be as well. If you like that, great. If you don't, it can be a bit tiring. As non-smokers, we loved the anti-smoking atmosphere. Smokers would not.

We were greeted by Pascal who is a bundle of laughs and information. He made us feel very welcome & told us where the best places to go were. The hotel is clean, quiet with large rooms with onsuites. It is only a few minutes walk away from the main high streets & lots of attractions. There is parking for 4 cars at the back of the property. Breakfast was very tasty & filling. Definately would come here again & would recommed this place to anyone. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

our time at the Salamander guest houseRight from the first time we walked in, the propriator was freindley and very helpful, carrying our bags in from the car park, then he pointed out all the places of interest on a tourist map and wrote them all down, the room was comfortable and clean and there was a good supply of tea and coffee. at breakfast everyone was intoduced and the food was good. i would not hesitate to visit here again, a first class stay.

Must StayI went with my parents aged 60+...and they loved it as much as i did. Pascal ( the owner, and host par excellence) made the entire experience more than value for money. Starting with superb planning, and excellent breakfast he ensured that we saw the best in and around town, and also helped me plan our itenerary for the 4 days that we stayed there...People- if you want to go to Stratford Upon Avon, and want value for money, think Salamander and Pascal. Thackers

Good place to stay in StratfordAlthough only the 2 of us we were given a triple room which was large and comfortable, Everthing in the room was clean and worked OK, and we ceratinly slept well. The shower was electric so as most people know these always takes a little time to get the adjustment right, but then they have the advantage of not changing temperature everytime someone in the next room runs a tap! Breakfast was good especially the thick sliced bacon and all freshly cooked. Pascal, the owner, was very chatty, helpful and a mine of information about Stratford and "those plays some guy wrote a few hundred yars ago".

Salamander So Super! We really enjoyed our stay here - the hotel is so close to the centre of the town, (about 2 minutes walk) and the proprietor, Pascal, was great - exceptionally informative about what entertainment was available and where to go for the Shakespeare route - he made sure we weren't bored! Despite being so central, the room was very quiet and we weren't disturbed by passing cars or boisterous youths! Would stay again 100%. Thanks for a great weekend - Andy and Elle

The Salamander ExperienceThis was my first visit to Stratford so I didn’t know the layout of the town. The Guest House is centrally located, opposite a small green, with the town centre only a two minute walk away. The accommodation is clean and tidy. The breakfast is standard fayre for a guest house. The only slightly negative is that breakfast is served between 8am – 8.30am which is a bit early if you are on a short break / holiday. The proprietor, Pascal, has a good knowledge of the area and is entertaining to say the least. I would definitely stay there again.
