Ryokan Ontake is a traditional Japanese style ryokan in Nigorigo Onsen area on a height of 1800 meters which is located between Takayama station and Gero station. Only one sending shuttle bus is operated between JR Gero station and the ryokan for each way with a fee. It takes about 2.5 to 3 hours. The nearest JR railway station for the ryokan is JR Hida-Osaka station but there is no sending service from the station and you are required to take a taxi. It takes about 80 minutes to the ryokan. Takayama is one of famous sightseeing places in Japan.
The hot spring of the ryokan is 100% natural and minerals are included in the hot spring, so it will be good for health. There is also open-air bath which is available to take for both men and women together.
Since the ryokan is on the height of 1800 meters, the view of countless stars will be available to see from your room or the roof of the ryokan unlike the view from downtown areas and you feel like you are in a planetarium.

Both dinner and breakfast are served in a restaurant and you will have Japanese cuisine using seasonal ingredients including Hida beef. There is a coffe shop and a night pub which is available Karaoke in the ryokan.
Most guest rooms are Japanese style rooms, but western style rooms are also available. Bidet-toilet, bath, refrigerator, tea pot & tea set, humidifier, telephone, TV, security box, hair dryer, toothbrush & tooth paste, razor, towel, bath towel, hair comb are standard facilities and amenities in guest rooms.
