The place was nice and clean, and the staff were VERY helpful and friendly. The morning buffet breakfast was ok. I've had better for the price I paid at this hotel. Nevertheless, I would stay again as the location was perfect.

We had a reservation with the Crowne Plaza Darling Harbour, but they were overbooked and the night manager told us that Crowne Plaza has arranged for us to stay in "a nice five star hotel" for the first night. So our luggage was transfered to Rydges and we stayed in room 1702. The hotel did not strike me as a five star one, but I guess the Crowne Plaza manager may misrepresented the details a bit. Rydges's 1702 room was a handicapped room and the bathroom was very poorly designed - the water did not drain properly and the tile floor was not cleaned after the last customers and it was very slippery, my husband almost fell twice and I actually had my flip flops on in the shower so I don't slip. The breakfast buffet was not good but the bellhops were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, the mattress not so comfortable. I would not hurry back for the price.

We were expecting more from the write-up. Location was not ideal - next time will stay in Darling Harbour. Will not stay here again. Cleaner left a rubbish bag on floor of room. The Executive Club Lounge breakfast was an odd room with very ordinary breakfast. Assistant Manager very friendly. Not enough staff on to deal with check out time and people leaving bags behind.

The restaurant breakfast has improved slightly since my last stay, but I still object to paying over $30 for a buffet breakfast when I only ever eat bacon and eggs. There should be an a la carte option.

We enjoyed our stay, the staff were friendly and helpful. The pastries at the buffet breakfast were awful. The hotel was central to everything especially with the monorail at the door. Would stay again.

| Found the staff very helpful and courteous.
Love the fact you can still get a 'smoking room' in this hotel and the windows in the room actually open!
The food in the restaurant was excellent and reasonable priced. |

We were very pleased with the hotel. It is in a great location if you would like to be able to walk to shopping, dining, and/or to the Darling Harbour area. We didn't realize we would be paying so much to park, or we might have gone the taxi/monorail route instead of renting a car.

2 Asked for help with TV via reception never came.
3 Placed an order with room service got the order wrong did not complain.
4 I have stayed at many Hotels around Australia and the world with the Business I'm in. I must say I will never stay at a Rydges again. |

Checked in early - very good. Room OK but a bit stale. We overlook a roof and was very dark. Needed all the three lights on to see. All amenities were satisfactory - we paid $200 per night, which is a bit steep, but it is central Sydney. Great location and very quiet.

Having been told on check in that it was our 10th wedding anniversary, I expected something nice - even if it was one after dinner mint each but there was nothing. Other hotels have given more for less reasoning. Otherwise, the food was delivered on time at the right temperature and with style (white table cloth on the cart and packaged silver cutlery). Pity the room with little view (except for thrown out cigarette packages and barely a view of anything else) and hardly any room to move did not match the price!

A regular visitor, I like the location. The service overall needs a little more attention ie. my room was missing a remote control for the TV and I had to call twice (in 30mins) before getting it. It's not bad but it does remain at the the back of the mind though!

I regulaly stay at Rydges as it is conveniently located to my Sydney office. In my last post, I was critical of the restaurant breakfast at Rydges. this seems to have improved since last time. The price is now a standard fixed price for buffet at a more reasonable price, however there is no a la carte option, unless you choose room service. The restaurant is in the process of being refurbished, so hopefully the new restaurant will offer some refreshing change.

Good location, reasonable price. however, room service is very disappointed when i expected it's a four or five star hotel. staff did not replace the towels that placed in the bathtub. they just hanged it back on the rack, i thought it was fresh one. when i unfold it, they were wet and have blood mark on it. unacceptable!!!

Great value for money and in an excellent spot with regards to the monorail which has a station downstairs. Porters were excellent. A bit far from Circular Quay and the ferries but you can jump on the monorail and get a ferry from Darling Harbour. Room was spacious and very clean. Pity there's no pool but a very enjoyable weekend! Will stay there again.

The staff were very pleasant and helpful, but disorganised. There would appear to be a need for better management.
