The hotel is right on the monorail stop that circles to many of the tourist attractions. Many good restaurants right outside the hotel. The room was very clean, but the hallways need some attention. The conceriege was excellent.

A good four star hotel located in the opposite end of Sydney to the main tourist drawcards. If you need to be in this part of Sydney then this is the place.

Stayed there for 11 days in a king deluxe. Room was very small, view was horrible, carpet in room had a huge stain soon as you walk in. In general I needed to wear shoes at all times, the carpet just felt dirty and sticky. Hotel staff was very friendly especially bell persons. They helped me arrange some local tours and days trips. Front desk people very curteous. I arrived at 7am from an 18 hour flight and was very tired. I tried to check in early, but was not successful until around noon. They usually dont check in until 3pm. Room service was very timely and presentation was great. Definitely not a 5 star hotel but more so closer to a two star hotel. I would return to this hotel only during the lower rates, during peak season there a much nicer hotels for the price. Restaurant and buffet are nominal, nothing spectacular. Security at night is very good, main doors are locked preventing non-guests from entering the hotel.

We had a reservation with the Crowne Plaza Darling Harbour, but they were overbooked and the night manager told us that Crowne Plaza has arranged for us to stay in "a nice five star hotel" for the first night. So our luggage was transfered to Rydges and we stayed in room 1702. The hotel did not strike me as a five star one, but I guess the Crowne Plaza manager may misrepresented the details a bit. Rydges's 1702 room was a handicapped room and the bathroom was very poorly designed - the water did not drain properly and the tile floor was not cleaned after the last customers and it was very slippery, my husband almost fell twice and I actually had my flip flops on in the shower so I don't slip. The breakfast buffet was not good but the bellhops were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, the mattress not so comfortable. I would not hurry back for the price.

The family room was great. plenty of room and very clean, excellent location. convenient walk to both harbors and only a few blocks from bus and train station.

Good hotel, in central Sydney location, very Asian part of town. Rooms are reasonable in size, comfortable. Plenty shopping, foods downstairs. Hard to find by car first time, but once located - gets easier. parking not the cheapest in central Sydney

This is an excellent hotel for the center of Sydney.Very reasonably priced, great location - would be good fit for both business and vacation. Big negative - restaurant prices are CRAZY. $32.00 for full breakfast -- with 4/5 restaurants within 500 metres charging less than $18.00.

I spent less time at the Hotel as there were many places of tourist attraction to visit. The TV in the room was not working until a technician came and fixed it. Management should always make sure that everything is working before they assign the room.

Good location for accessing southern parts of the city like Chinatown and Darling Harbour. Valet parking takes a while to return your car so allow extra time for that.
