my first impression with the rydges park hotel was not a good one. myself, and several others were booked in several months prior to my sons wedding. there was one desk clerk,our luggage had not been sent up to our room. the clerk could not find some of the bookings, and we had to retrieve our luggage from a separate room, and had to carry it up ourselves, WE WERE WOKEN UP LATER TO A FIRE ALARM GOING OFF, IN THE HALL, I HAD MY 2 SMALL GRAND CHILDREN WITH ME AND HAD TO GO DOWN TO THE DESK TO SEE IF WE HAD TO EVACUATE, ONLY TO BE TOLD THERE WAS SOMEONE SMOKING IN A ROOM AND EVERY THING WAS OK. THE SIREN WAS STILL BLARING, MY SON, NEW DAUGHTER IN-LAW CAME IN TO MY ROOM TO TELL ME THE HOTEL HAD THICK SMOKE POURING OUT OF A ROOM. NO ONE BOTHERED TO TELL US WHAT WAS GOING ON, WE WENT DOWN THE FIRE ESCAPE TO THE CAR ENCLOSED PARK OUTSIDE WITH ELECTRONIC GATES. IF THERE IS A SERIOUS FIRE WE WOULD HAVE BEEN TRAPPED AS THE POWER WOULD HAVE GONE OFF! WE MADE OUR WAY TO THE FRONT OF THE HOTEL TO BE TOLD NOTHING, UNTIL WE ASKED A FIREMAN WHAT WAS HAPPENING! THEN THE MANAGER FINALY MADE AN ANOUNCEMENT, THAT WE COULD GO BACK TO OUR ROOMS IF THAT FLOOR WAS CLEAR.MY BATHROOM HAD MOULD IN MY SHOWER AS DID MANY OTHERS. MY SISTERS ROOM HAD A BROKEN DINING CHAIR AND THE LIST GOES ON .DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR, SLEEP IN A TENT.YOU WOULD BE BETTER OFF! AND IT WASN'T CHEAP. THE BUILDING NEEDS SERIOUS REVAMPING ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE CHARGING SO MUCH.

All in all when ever we have stayed here it has been great just wished it was a bit cheaper so we could stay more often regards Sherryle Anderson

Currently undergoing renovations so the ambiance is not what it should be. In room rubbish bins were not emptied. In house movies were not working. Bathrobes were not supplied. The location is not so good. So only an average rating. Nice decor and a lovely room - spa suite.

Rydges are undergoing renovation at the moment which I wasnt aware of at time of booking, had I known, I would have booked elsewhere. The room that I stayed in was mix of good and bad condition. The bathroom definitely needs replacing, bedroom ok. Renovations are noisy from the room(Jackhammer noise before 8am) and dirty in affected areas!
