A very nice hotel. Walking distance to everything. Good view of the harbor. The staff was helpful. I would stay here again

The hotel looked so grand but we were very disappointed with the room. The paint on the cupboard above the fridge was peeling off and this is used as the coffee making area. The clothes hook in the bathroom was missing and there is no ventilation as well. The carpet is worn and the rooms on level 9 were just above the road where the tour buses park so you can hear them starting their engines early in the morning.

We had to change rooms because the toilet wouldn't stop flushing but the staff responded very quickly and helpfully. Long walk into town with suitcases as we didn't have a car.

Our family of 3 stayed at Rydges for 4 days this December. We loved the location, about a block and a half walk to town and right on the Lake. It was so nice to have dinner in town and then have a little short walk back; our daughter would skip back along the large sidewalk by the lake. Our room had a fabulous lake view and we could watch the TS Earnslaw steamship and other boats go by. The staff was the best ever, so friendly and helpful, they even booked our tours for us. We thought this hotel was a great find, convenient and close to town (yet far enough away from the hustle). Although the bathroom is a little small, the shower was great, and it didn't really matter as we were always on the go. We walked to everything close by - great restaurants, the bungee jumping, the steamship; and the horseback riding tours and 4 wheel driving company to Skipper's Canyon (which we highly recommend too), picked us up right at the door. If I ever go back to Queenstown, I will stay there again!

The only problem was there were two of us and we would have preferred seperate beds rather than one to share :-) Will stay again.

Staff are good but the hotel itself is looking very tired

Great lake view from our room. The room is a little bit small but otherwise OK. Facilities in the room are well maintained. We had not use any other facilities so can't comment on those.

Lovely hotel with good clean facilities and fine service. Enjoyed the view from our room, BUT found the rear section of the hotel where we were lodged rather ordinary: the room itself was very plain and the access and corridors in that section were not particularly charming. The food was very good.

Great service from the desk staff and great views from the rooms and pool balcony. Hotel is not in the centre of town but is only a short walk to restaurants and shops.

I was so disappointed with this Motel. With a name like Rydges you would think the rooms would be reasonably classy. No I was mistaken.. the room was very tired and we were put at the back of the motel with poor views of the back street. The front rooms had views accross the lake. The price was good but did not include breakfast - will stay at this motel again.

Junior suites are much better than regular rooms. Not very well built - thin walls and creaky ceilings. Internal maintenance needs could be better.

The view was awesome so was the location, but got woken up at 1am by noisy people in room next door going out on the balcony and had to listen to them laughing and crashing around until 3am. Decor is dated and desperately needs a repaint. It said 2 double beds when i booked but I got a bed and a sofa bed,the sofa bed was so squeaky and uncomfortable we all had to sleep in the one comfortable bed in the other room. Needs some proper sound insulation as I could hear doors banging regularly and tvs going, people talking, also I don't like the idea of the shared balcony as there is no privacy and have to keep curtains closed all the time as people can walk past at any moment. The staff at check in/ out were helpful and friendly.

I'm so glad of the high standard and consistancy of each Rydges remains the same.

Basic room, but clean at elast. Shower was not good ( too strong and very windy so shower curtain warpped around you - yuk!) - I told the front desk.

The hotel is opoosite the lake, away from the shopping centre. Short walk to shops along the lakefront. The room was good and we had a lake view. We got a good deal on our room which included breakfast, which was good. The restaurant was in an elevated position with picture windows to the lake. We sat by the window each morning and enjoyed the view and a good variety of breakfast options. I was particularly happy that they offered gluten free bread and pancakes.

There was a definite lack of consistency when the room was serviced, the mini bar wasn't restocked, nor the bathroom, one of our final days the bed was very scuffily re-made.On our second day the flat screen tv in the bedroom was removed and replaced with an older style one(a minor point, but hadn't even been dusted before put in the room),no explaination was given for this.A beautiful outlook in a great location never -the-less
