From the hotel's windows you can watch the comings-and-goings of the guardsmen in the Royal Mews, or you can step outside to share in the unforgettable daily pageant of the Changing of the Guard. A walk westwards from the Rubens at the Palace takes you to the exclusive shopping areas of Sloane Square, King's Road, Sloane Street, and Knightsbridge. A little further on is Kensington and the great museums: the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Natural History Museum, and the Science Museum. Each room at Rubens is beautifully furnished and independently air-conditioned. There are bureau desks and, if you want it, a twice-daily maid service. Each room also has high-speed internet access for your laptop and a state-of-the-art entertainment system including interactive TV, a huge selection of on-demand movies, and a music library.

Great location but expensive for quite a small room. Initially given smoking room which smelled badly but changed on request.

I stayed here for a week with my mother. Excellent location- right across from Buckingham place- short walk or tube ride to the rest of the city. Extremely helpful concierge and doorman- they were extremely friendly! Had our bags inside and our check in information ready before we were even out of the taxi! Convenient location to train and bus station if you will be visiting other parts of the country. Concierge knew the tour companies well- Evan Evans tours picks you up at the hotel. Our room was very smalll but incredibly comfortable- great bathroom- provided bathrobes, lotions, sleepmasks etc. Tea and coffee service in the room was great- room was cleaned and restocked perfectly everyday. Breakfast was wonderful- with a lot of options, room service ws equally good. The lounge/bar is a great place to relax in the evening or have afternoon tea. The restaurant-The Library- was really impressive-expensive, but well worth it. Very quiet- so if your completely exhausted from sightseeing or business like we were- you can count on being able to take a nap.Our view was the only thing really lacking- all we could see was the hotel across the street, but we weren't there often anyway.I will definately return!

I can't believe these other reviews. Be ready for a shock. * for a 10' X 10' ""closet"". No room to even put bags. *drinks. * chicken dinner. * internet per 1/2 hr. BAD value for money. So many other choices.

Very central hotel - great location. Staff very attentive and high service given. Room slightly small but then we are in central London, still very comfortable overall and would definitely return.

The desk personnel helped out a lot when my wife got sick. Rooms are expensive when compared with U.S. but its not in the U.S. The suite was nice but small. Hotel is across the street from the Palace. Would stay there again if I return to Londone.

The hotel was convenient to the subway/buses so it made it easy for sightseeing. The room was smaller than expected but we weren't there much anyways. The staff was nice and we would probably stay there again.

Stayed in a twin room - lovely comfy beds - minimal drawer space. Opted for evening meal as the optional extra (2 night stay deal) which was excellent as was inclusive breakfast. Overall a very pleasant long weekend break would definitely use this hotel again.

Made to feel very welcome the moment we entered the hotel. Staff very friendly and on hand to help with enquiries and information. Good value for money and the short stay was made to feel extra special on a very special occasion.

The staff at this hotel are the most helpful, friendly happy staff we as a family have ever encountered in the many hotels we have stayed in. Nothing was ever too much and it was always done with genuine warmth and eagerness to please. This was our second stay at this hotel and it definately won't be our last.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Rubens. Service was faultless - from the man opening the door, to reception and in the restaurant at breakfast. Although it was not particularly cheap we felt we got something special - robes and water in the room for instance. Location was perfect for Billy Elliott !

Superb location - just around the corner from Buckingham Palace. Extremely friendly and courteous staff; excellent breakfast and the included carvery meal was top quality. Overall the stay was well worth the Lateroom's price.
