The staff at Royal Suite Lodge was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The suite was comfortable and clean, but very travel-worn.

The hotel was had a great location in the city, and the price was great. It was a cozy hotel for the price. Parking space was horrible as well as the outside lights on the facility.

The Royal Suite Lodge was very comfortable, we actually were given a two bedroom apartment to stay in. Of course we only stayed overnight, but we had a good impression overall. We were a bit apprehensive earlier on reading the past reviews but to our surprise we found the rooms clean and comfortable. One has to remember that it is a lodge as the name suggests, and that rooms are given out also on long term basis. It is NOT a hotel. On arrival at the airport we contacted the front desk on phone for the shuttle. We were told that they did not immediately have a shuttle but we should hire a cab and we would be re-embursed the fare. This they did promptly. The staff at the front desk were helpful and courteous that evening as well as the next day. We had a very pleasant stay. We had to go out for food as we could not cook although all facilities were available, like a cooking range, a microwave oven, a refrigerator. Downtown was $10.00 away by cab.

Absolutely nothing. No Hot water. Dirty. Roach Motel The Hotel is not as pictured. It isn't near any decent place to eat. Rooms are dirty. They allowing smoking in none smoking rooms. The room smelled like urine. Would never recommend it to anyone.

This place is a low grade motel, it smelled dirty, the nonsmoking room smelled like smoke, we did not stay and they are suppose to refund my money back to me. I would not recommend this place for my DOG.

First thing that went wrong was the airport shuttle they had discontinued so I had to get a cab to the hotel. They reimbursed for the cab, but it was a pain. Then the hotel is not in a good neighborhood and I was propositioned on the way to my room. There was no place to eat within a reasonable walking distance and leaving the room did not seem like a good idea. The residents were loud and in the early morning hours I was rousted out of bed due to the police executing a search/sweep of the rooms for unlawful activites. Then in the morning I was left to fend for myself to get back to the airport for my flight home. The airport shuttle was still sitting outside and not taking anyone to the airport. I had to catch a ride with the shuttle from a neighboring hotel. I will never go stay at this hotel again.

With the living room, kitchen, & 2 bedrooms, it was exceptionally roomy. Too much noise in the middle of the night from certain other guests. The hotel is well located: not that far from the airport, and also not that far from central Anchorage. Every unit is basically clean and offers plenty of room, so that even with 4 guests in the unit, you're not crawling over each other. The hotel might rate a one diamond in the AAA tour book It would be good if there were elevators to the 2nd and 3rd floors. It was difficult getting enough linen for our party of three in our unit, and there was virtually no utensils, and no dish ware, for the kitchenette. Further, the neighborhood in which it was located offered no opportunity for walking to a nearby restaurant or diner of any kind.

This hotel/motel is spacy, providing plenty of room. A single unit can accommodate 3 people easily and is OK for small or large groups (more than one room may be required though) . Food service/facilities are about a mile away and there are no courtesy cars available.

Good spacious room. Sleepy manager started a fire overcooking popcorn and started a fire alarm at 2 AM. Not a good location. Neighborhood gangs in downtown Anchorage make you feel unsafe. Nearby construction activity is disturbing.

The facility was minimal. The building is old and maintenance is ok the utilities worked but some need to be replaced as they have cracks and show age. There are no dining facilites on site and the closest is a few blocks away.

I could get a room when most places were sold out. Seedy part of town. Owner only makes coffee in the morning. The hotel is on the edge of Spaniard, in a fairly high traffic area. The hotel is older but was fairly clean inside. The room was stocked with the bare necessities. I was happy to find a room on short notice during one of the busiest weekends of the year. Police were busting a hooker in the parking lot on Saturday morning. The doors had 3 locks on them to attest to the part of town the hotel is in.

Being that my airfare to me was a lot of money, I figured that I would save a little on my lodging. So I knew that the ammenities wouldn't be much if any. So when I arrived at my hotel The staff was pleasent enough and gave me my room key and directions to find it. I found the room and checked the windows being that it was a first floor room. There was signs that they have been pryed open more than once. I went to the office to see if there were any 2nd floor rooms, which there was and I was on my was to my new room. When I got to the 2nd room The door was open and someone rearranged the mattresses on the floor in front of the T.V. which was on. I went down stairs only to find out later, when the police arrived that someone must have broke in. The staff appologuised and offered me a larger 2nd floor room at the same rate, which was nice of them. The new room was okay, except for the fact that there was an overseas container push up against my window, which made my room the same as a 1st floor room, because anyone could come up and visit. I used a metal coathanger to secure that window and wedged a chair in front of the front door to sleep. If I was traveling with my family I would have had to leave that hotel and book another.

2 room apartment gave us plenty of room; would have been appropriate for cooking meals. Hotel staff was a little abrupt, not extremely helpful. The hotel was clean and very convenient to airport. It looks like an apartment complex converted to weekly/monthly stays with some nightly guests. Although we stayed in a 2 BR apartment with 3 guests, there were only 2 sets of towels. When I asked for a 3rd set of towels, the desk clerk only gave me a 3rd bath towel which she had at the front desk, never providing hand towel or 3rd wash cloth. Overall, it met my expectations and was much roomier than I expected.

The Royal Suite Lodge was sufficient. As a tired fisherman who had just gotten off the river I welcomed a reasonable, basic place to regroup, shower, and get some sleep. My non-smoking room still had lingering cigarette aroma and needed to be aired out. The pillows were in need of replacement, and the restaurant choices near-by were very limited here. The Royal Suite Lodge does fill a niche. It is affordable, while providing basic amenities. The owner is a gentleman who extends himself to be accommodating to his patrons.

It was clean, convenient, & low cost summer rate. Room amenities were not stocked. If just need a convenient place to sleep at low summer rates - it is okay. If more is desired wouldn't recommend.

We did have a suite with a kitchen. There were no kitchen items there. The only coffee pot was in the lobby. The carpet was dirty and sticky we only walked on the carpet with shoes or socks. There were ice trays in the freezer, but God only knows who have touched them. The only positive was the bed and bathroom were clean. There were miss matched chairs in the room. The table was a card table that was unsteady. We had a car for transportation no restaurants nearby.

There were no screens for the windowsm giving a choice of mosquitos or heat. There was an empty beer can on the floor between the wall and bedside table, a lot of filth under the bed, human hair on the shower wall. The decals on the shower bottom were rising, being annoying under foot. There is a bowling alley next door and people were outside fighting one night. However, the location is good, fairly close to both the airport and downtown.

We stayed at Royal Suite Lodge in Anchorage on June 21 for a night in Room 208. To our surprise, there was no hot water in this room. We notified the front desk, who came to verify the water temperature, but told us there was nothing he could do. He left you a note because you are the owner/manager, and because he would be off duty at 12 am. Nothing was done, so our family had to take a cold shower or skip showers. There was still no hot water the next morning until we checked out at 11 am, and the new front desk person again told us there was nothing she could do.
