Great laidback honeymoon trip. My first all inclusive. Best way to vacation.

Great pool, situated right on the beach, great food, kids club and gourmet food. The hotel is located in the Hotel Zone and is right on the beach. The pool is magnificent and large. The food at the hotel is great. You can enjoy several restaurants for buffet style or you can go the gourmet sit down restaurants for lunch and dinner. Overall, a great stay at a class resort.

We met my sister and brother in law at Royal Solaris and we all had a wonderful time. Both couples stayed in the Caribe Tower. Our rooms were clean and the views of the ocean and pools were great. Each day the maid service created whimsical animals out of pillow cases or towels. We spent alot of time in the cool shade of the Caribe lobby playing Scrabble and such, enjoying drinks and snacks from the pool bar or the Caribe lobby bar. Its very nice to not even have to sign for anything. There is bar service around the pools and even small tips made sure that you were never thirsty. This resort does have more of a family feel than the other all-inclusive we've stayed at and there were families from all over the world. The beach here is very pretty and we had the extra pleasure of enormous sea turtles coming ashore and laying eggs at night. There is a fenced area on the beach where the eggs are moved to for protection. Our only wish was that the hotel give guests an informational brochure about the turtles and a caution not to disturb them while laying (i.e. NO flash photography). Some idiot scared an immense turtle who then went back to sea before laying - luckily we stayed around long enough to see her come back to the same hole she had dug and successfully lay many eggs. A great trip and a nice resort.

Everything was great, friendly staff that made you feel like family, food was outstanding and rooms were very clean. I highly recommend this place and would definitely consider coming back again. Only downfall was the time share sales guy who was too persistent and a little annoying, but I guess that is their job, other than that, kids club was excellent, my daughter had a lot of fun.

Food choices. Need to get up early to find a place in the shadow by the pool or beach. Overall a good experience. Nice, clean and good size resort.

There were 2 towers at Royal Solaris and the first thing we were told, AFTER WE GOT THERE, was that 1 of the towers was shut down and now instead of 7 restaurants, we had 3 to choose from. Hotel appeared to be a little run down.

The service was good except we had to go and retrieve are own bags. The food was not good, the beds were very hard, and they tried to push time shares way to much. The service was good; the beach access was not all that there were big rocks there. It was not a good spot to swim in. The beds were hard as rocks. The shower could not maintain a constant temperature. As soon as we checked in a salesman tried to sell us time shares and wasted 3 hours of are vacation!

My husband and I stayed at Royal Solaris for our honeymoon. Overall, we were very happy with our experience. We wish we could have stayed a little bit longer! Our room was clean, the staff was very friendly and accomodating, ALL food and beverages were included in our package, the pool was amazing, and the hotel has one of the best beaches on the island. There were only two things my husband and I can complain about. The first is that our shower was always on the fritz. It would go from freezing cold to burning hot and it didn't matter how we adjusted the temperature. It would just change on it's own. The second is that the food was sometimes hit or miss. We quickly learned to stick with the mexican dishes, and the seafood, beef, and chicken dishes were usually pretty good. Aside from that, we couldn't have been happier with our trip. It was really a nice, relaxing getaway. The staff was so pleasant, and we found most of the guests staying at the hotel to be very nice and polite too. My husband and I would definitely go back.

The service and accomodations are great here, but the food needs some work. There was no variety and everything was very institutional. Excpect great views, clean and well air conditioned rooms, and really excellent service, but be prepared for some not-so-appetizing eats.

I was pretty impressed with the whole hotel experience. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The food was excellent, a large variety of food, which made it very exciting, and we did not get bored of the menus. We stayed 5 days, and enjoyed every moment. The place was very organized and clean, lack of chairs sometimes, which meant you had to get up extra early to go and reserve your chairs for the pool area or the beach. We also enjoyed the gym, it was great, with a nice view. I would really go back. It was worth the trip. I would recommend this hotel for families, couples, or even if you are by your self. The people were very friendly!! The bathrooms were really clean, however no vents, which seemed pretty weird, the mirrors fogged up very quickly while in the shower, which was pretty annoying... Need to fix that and everything would of been perfect.

We stayed at the Royal Solaris for a short getaway. The hotel was great. The staff was soo friendly and the food and drinks were great. The hotel is away from the nightlife but it takes only a few minutes to get there and we thought it was a perfect location to get away from the craziness. Make sure to use the buses...it only costs 65 cents per person. We loved the Las Fuentes buffet so much that we only ate there. The bars served really good drinks and the pool bar staff was great. Can't wait to go back!

The hotel was half closed because they didn't have enough rooms occupied. So we only got access to 1/2 the resturants and entertainment. The "hot tubs" were cold because they were located on the closed portion and they didn't want to waste the electricity. The food was absolutely horrible. It's Mexico and even the Mexican cuisine was bad. I would have taken Taco Bell over the food they served. Also, the "all inclusive" is great if you don't plan to relax. The cups were no bigger than dixie cups so you were constantly getting up every two minutes to refill. The website said water bottles avaiable... sure if you want to pay $4.00 for them. You can also in your all inclusive package get water if you want it filled up in a dixie cup as well. Bring a lot of small bills too. The "money exchange" at the hotel was only benficial if you wanted to change US dollars into Pesos. They never had any money to convert it back. We didn't even make it inside our room for the first 30 minutes of our arrival. The hotel staff spent that time trying to get us to go to the GR Solaris to upgrade to a better hotel and sit through a 90 minutes "breakfast" speech about how great that hotel was. Ummm wouldn't they want to talk up the hotel you already paid for????

We had a wonderful although short stay. We did not spend much time at the hotel as we were booked with tours, however after a long day at Xcaret, Playa del Carmen and Isla Mujeres the pool /jacuzzi was a quiet and relaxing interlude before dining. The food was very very good, service pleasant and accomodating. The entire staff spoke excellent English so although my friend was bilingual I could easily have gotten by without an interpreter. We requested an ocean view room and received one, although because we did not have a balcony the windows were small and you could not see the ocean with out standing and looking out of them. The shower head was strong and pleasant. All taps in the hotel have purified water. The only complaint is that the floors throughout the room/bathroom were always damp unless we kept the A/C on the coldest setting and the fan in the high/on position. This was annoying, but not offsetting - we just kept towels, which were pleantiful, on the floor. Our room was in Tower #2 so the walk to the main lobby was quite far and through several up/down levels of outside stairways. (This could be rather risky if you are tipsy...suggest using caution with children also). However there was a mini-lobby in that tower so at checkout we left our bags with the bellboy there so we didn't have to shlepp them to the main lobby for our departure. Our transport to/from the airport was timely. No issues there. USD is readily accepted and change given in Pesos. Wish we had booked 1 extra day to wind down and hang out at the hotel...maybe next time.

We had a great time in Cancun. It was my fisrt experience staying in an all inclusive resort. The staff at the Royal are great, friendly and will make you feel very welcome. The bar service is excellent at pool side and the waiters/bartenders are fast. There are lots and lots of stairs from the lobby to pool side so be prepared. If you like the shade like I do you have to get poolside early, there are only a few umbrella chairs available. Also with the second tower bring closed (due to the swine flu outbreak) we only had one selection for breakfast. We like the nightlife and there are lots of clubs to choose from. I loved Congo Bongo it was my favorite but kind of pricey. We lucked up and got free admission. Usually it will run anywhere from $40-60 admission. If you are into hiphop and don't mind hanging with 20 somethings there is a club for that also(name escapes me)good music though. The beach was awesome and they offer lots of excursions. Overall,it was fun and I would visit the Royal again!
