We spent a couple of days in Orlando to visit Mickey Mouse. the Royal Plaza Hotel was very nice. Everyone was very accomodating. They couldn't do enough for you. I would highly recommend this to everyone. I have stayed at a Disney hotel before and would say this was pretty comparable.

We liked the bathroom, it was big and spacious. The food in the hotel was very expensive - more so than most. The Royal Plaza is a short walk from Downtown Disney. The staff was always helpful in our interactions. The rooms were of good size and the bathroom was well layed out - we were particularly grateful for the large shower and sufficient counter space.

The room was fine. The concierge was working through a time share so all ticket related pricing was discounted until we were told what we had to do to pick up them up. Also the concierge desk was not knowledgeable about many Disney attractions and had to look up everything related to Disney golf courses. My husband called several times and left at least 4 messages that were never passed on to my room's phone. The take-out food area was terribly expensive and at over $7 for a large cup of soup ... at least crackers should have been included.

Hotel staff was very pleasant, friendly greeting when arriving at the front of the Hotel. Checking in staff was quick staff was great. The room was ok. it was very noisy thin walls, we could hear everyone in the hall. We had to turn the noisy Air Conditioner to drown out the the radio or TV from the room next door. We were told the Shuttle runs every half hour to the parks. One morning after breakfast about 10:25am we asked when the Shuttle bus would be here to take us to Typhoon Lagoon and were told it only picks up at 9:15 and 10:15am. So we had to take a cab another extra expense we were not expecting. The next day we took the shuttle bus to Blizzard Beach and were told the return trips are at 4:15pm and 5:15pm. We got to the bus stop at 5:05pm and waited with no bus. We had to make other arrangements to get back to the hotel. The next time we go to Disney we will stay at a Disney owned property.

We stayed there two years ago just after it was redone and were very happy, but the hotel has gone down hill since then. The front desk staff are nice, but the maid service is some of the worst I have ever encountered. One day I had to shower with a hand towel because they left no wash cloths. The hotel is not very clean. The lobby looks great, but when you get up on the room floors it is really getting run-down. The lighting in the bathroom was HORRIBLE! The bed in our suite was not as good as the fold out our son was sleeping on. The television channel selection is also horrible. We had several lights out in our room that were never changed even after requesting. The elevator wait is one of the worst I have ever seen. We started using the service elevators just so we wouldn't have to wait five minutes to get from the fifth floor. One day, they only had one elevator running and it was even worse! Carpet was dirty in our room. If you walked around with white socks on, they would get black on the bottom. The location is great, but from now on we are staying at the Hilton! It's closer to Downtown Disney and it's much much cleaner!

Staff was very friendly at check-in and through out our stay. We came for a family vacation to visit Disney World. Had no trouble catching the bus to and from the park...and did not have to wait very long at all. Over all our stay was great. Great service, Great rooms - Beautiful hotel!!

The rooms were nice and the bathroom was great. Nothing, It was great. I had low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was very nice and the rooms were great. The large bathtub was great for my children. My only regret is we only spent one night in the room.

Excellent accommodations. was very surprised..the room was so large with a living room, large bathroom, jacuzzi and french doors leading into the bedroom. It was much better than staying on the disney property..although the disney property was inside disney, these accommodations were 1/3rd the cost and the room was three times larger.

Overall, i would rate this hotel 4.0 out of 5.0..... If you are looking for good bargain, this is definitely a good pick. The hotel staff was very friendly, especially the front desk. Cleaning crew always said hi and good morning. The pool area is very nice and clean. Towels were on site as well, which made it easier than bringing your own. The restaurant on site is a little pricey.. considering the restaurants down the street were half as cheap for the amount of food you receive. We never ate there. The one GREAT we loved was that Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island was within walking distance and only took about 5-10 minutes at most to get there. Don't worry, you can walk there and back at night as well, the sidewalks are lit up. Like always, vactioners always run into some trouble though. Our only problem was the bus transportation system on one day and it really isn't the hotel's fault. The water parks only run a bus 2 times a day and the last bus was suppose to come at 5pm at Blizzard Beach and it never came. We had to jump on a bus going to Epcot and then take another bus back to the hotel. Other than that, the trip was amazing and i would definitely stay at the Royal Plaza again.

I would have liked an a-la-carte breakfast. The rooms were average but the beds were above average. Might be nice to include internet in your "resort" fee. I think that I got my money's worth.

This was our first time in Orlando, so choosing a hotel was tough! We decided on this hotel because the location was good and the price was right. Our first room smelled like smoke that it almost made us sick! We asked to change rooms and we got a room that was really nice. The room and bathroom were VERY clean. The hotel staff were nice and helpful at all times. The hotel is close to downtown Disney and also close to another shopping area that is not with Disney. We also enjoyed the shuttle bus that the hotel provided. =) This was a great hotel and we would stay there again!

I came for a week long stay with my husband. We thought the room was very spacious and nicely appointed. The bed was a little past its prime in comfort (sagged in the middle a tiny bit) but not bad enough to affect our great time. The hotel is close to everything you want to do, including fantastic restaraunts within walking distance. Our only complaint was with room service. They sent what they had when they ran out of what we ordered (i.e., plain yogurt when the menu had it as vanilla ; whole milk instead of skim milk) We would certainly love to make the trip back and would use the Royal Plaza as our hotel. The bus service to the parks was consistant and reliable, but the trips could be long...I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!

The hotel is very close to Downtown Disney. A Taxi fare was $7.00 for me and my wife. The hotel is very nice, and clean. The pool was beautiful and I was very impressed with the level of service from the receptionist to the maids. This hotel is one of the best kept secrets for people wanting to visit Disney without spending their retirement on the lodging. My only complaint was that the outdoor Tiki bar was closed. Which meant if you were at the pool then you had to walk into the lobby to get a drink. The only thing that made it worth while was that it was happy hour (2 for 1).

The room was nice and comfortable, nice view. Pay for internet, outdated TV, resort fee. The hotel overall was great. I don't know about being a resort but staying in the tower section was nice. Disappointed that you would have to pay for internet and TV was basic 19 inch curved tube and there was no refrigerator. However did have a small pull out couch which was nice. Bathroom was nicely modeled and had a huge tube. Staff was nice and I would recommend staying there.

We just returned from a Disney vacation and stayed at the Royal Plaza. It was a wonderful hotel. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The bus service to the parks was exceptional. It was close to restaurants and attractions. Our only complaint was that they were having problems keeping the hot tub warm, but they were always trying to rectify this. Would definitely stay again.

Our stay at the Royal Plaza was one of the best yet. We've stayed at many hotels, but found this one of the best- especially for the price and area. It's located right within the Disney Resort area, with free transportation to Disney, as well as many other discounts as well. It's located right near everything you need. The rooms were beautiful. We were in a traditional room and had our own personal porch out to the pool. The pool amentities and hot tub were beautiful. Staff were very courteous and willing to assist with any of your needs. The tennis courts were also a lot of fun as well! The rooms were very spacious- especially the King size bed rooms, and the beds were very comfortable. We would definately reccommend this to families and couples- disregard the other reviews, this place was beautiful and well worth the money and stay! We will definately be returning next year.

I was at this hotel for 5 nights. The standard rooms are not so great,but if you are in a suite these are pretty nice. I got a deal through Orbitz which for the Suite that I got was a GREAT deal. Their standard rates would have been WAY to much for the kind of quality this hotel has to offer. 1.) The poolside bar wasn't open once during my stay. 2.) My first room had a water leak from the old dated shower that flooded my bathroom. 3.) The bartender is not friendly at all. Drinks are way overpriced especially considering she can't make them worth a flip. 4.) The restaurant in the hotel has really poor quality food that is quite overpriced for what you get. Really... I drove down the road to McDonalds over their food. 5.) The hotel shuttle they advertise having for you isn't free as you're lead to believe. Long and short of it... for the deal I got it was great, but I could have stayed at the Floridian for not to much more and that place is literally 5x as nice as this one. I've stayed in LaQuinta's suites that are nicer. The ONLY upside to this place is that it's down the road from a bunch of places to eat and shop, but this is hotel plaza blvd....there's a lot of other options.

Easy access to room. Dirty. Nice looking lobby and room but dirty bathroom and had something stolen from the room. When asked front desk, they blew it off and did nothing for me.

Excellent choice in price and vicinity; after trying to book a resort hotel in Dysney, finding a hotel close to Dysney downtown( you are within walking distance) at a reasonable price and with a shuttle service to the parks was relatively a bargain for the location.
