The Royal Orchid complex has a stunning view over the Atlantic and offers direct access to the beach, which is located around 100 m away. Canico is situated around 2.5 km away and offers numerous shops, restaurants and bars. Funchal and its airport are around 12 km drive from the hotel, easily reached with the free hotel bus service (3 times a day (except Sundays)) or with the regular local bus service.

The comfortable en-suite studios and suites contain a hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, satellite/ cable TV, a kitchenette, a fridge, a combined living/bedroom, a minibar, a hire safe, carpeting as well as a balcony with a sea view. The suites (2-4 persons) additionally include a separate bedroom. The rooms are cleaned on departure (included in price).

This 7-storey apartment complex was built in 1993, renovated in the year 2000 and consists of a total of 98 apartments, of which 64 are studios and 34 are suites. A lobby awaits guests with a reception offering 24-hour service, a currency exchange desk and a lift. Additional facilities include a hairdresser's salon, a bar, a games room, a TV room, an la carte restaurant with highchairs for infants and an Internet terminal. Furthermore, guests may make use of the hotel's laundry services, medical assistance, car park and a garage.

The hotel has a combined indoors and an outdoors swimming pool with children's pools, a poolside snack bar and a sun terrace (sun loungers, parasols and bath towels included). Other amenities within the complex include a gym, Jacuzzi and, for an additional fee, use of a sauna, a steam room and a professional massage service. Sports activities include aerobics classes and table tennis. An additional fee applies to those wishing to make use of the snooker table or the diving school in the neighbouring hotel. The hotel also offers an evening entertainment programme including live music for variation.
