Great locationThe location is good, it's right at the Royal Mile and a walking distance to the train station, the Castle and shopping area. The building is very old but the inside had been refurnished. The bedrooms, toilet and kitchen are nice but the furniture in the sitting room is worn out especially the 3-seat sofa.

This apartment is in a really great location in Edinburgh. The front rooms looked over the Royal Mile and the bedroom at the back was quiet for sleeping. I was in apartment 11 - right at the top. I do not know what the other apartments are like - they might be noisier? The stone stairs to get to the room are steep and would totally not be suitable for anyone with disability problems. I really enjoyed my stay here - much more than in a hotel. Having access to the Escape Health Club was a good bonus - as i usually like to go to the gym/have a facial when away. The Escape gym, and Cowshed spa situated within, were both very good.

Whilst the outside of the apartments don't look very salubrious, and the narrow stone spiral staircase takes a bit of negotiating with heavy bags, the apartment itself was great. We stayed in No 7 and found the quality and cleanliness of the apartments lived up to our expectations. The Moulton Brown soaps and accessories in the bathroom were a nice touch and although we only stayed 2 nights, our beds were made and rooms cleaned after the first night. Great location for the old town with lots of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Loved it - we had a great weekend and would happily stay here again with either friends or family.

Lovely apartment, very well furnished with all requirements anticipated; exceptionally well kept. Situated in a convenient location for shopping, sightseeing and dining. This was my first visit to Edinburgh ( I am American) and this accomodation was an important part of a very pleasantI epxerience. I look forward to staying with you again

I stayed here on a romantic weekend to Edinbrugh with my girlfriend and the first thing which struck me about the place was the amazing location. Right on the Royal Mile just down from the Castle. You cant check into the room unil 3pm so be aware of that if you have bags you may need to find a locker in the train station. Also there is no breakfast but there is a great cafe near the office of the hotel which was superb. 2 things about the service which let down the 5star badge. We only got 1 towel in the room and the cold water ran out in the morning. Apart from that the place is superb and i would recommend it to all my family and friends. If you are travelling with small children it may not suit as the room we stayed in Apt 11 is on the top floor and at the end of a flight of very steep steps. On the plus side a nice chap from the hotel helped us with our bags up the stairs. Check out time is 11am which i found quite early. The views from the apartment are stunning over both sides of the city and it is well finished with plasma tv and free wireless broadband. We got a very good rate of £90 for a sat night which i thought was well worth it given the location so look out for special rates.

Accommodation was great would be handy to know that you have to check in around the corner up front and that there are steep stairs - we were fine but others may struggle

This was a great appartment, centrally located for all tourist attractions. Places to eat and drink on the doorstep if you don't want to use the kitchen area. We stayed in Appartment 4 which is on the second floor (along with Appartment 5) and found the steps no problem (Appartments 2 & 3 are on first floor if the reports about the stairs put you off booking). Very comfortable accomodation and polite and pleasant staff (the walk from check-in is not far and the staff will help you with your bags). We very much enjoyed our stay and would recommend to friends.

Apartment in a excellent central situation with access to most tourist atractions.Rooms clean and apartment very well equipted.Somewhat noisy during the night but it was Edinburgh Festival when we visited.More information should be available about acessibility as the staircase up to some of the apartments is steep, in one place there is no handrail, no problem if you are reasonable fit though.

The 2 bed/one bath apartment with living room and open plan kitchen (apartment 'RMR 4') was great for four adults and one baby. A cot was set up in one of the bedrooms to accomodate the baby who walked and crawled about with great abandon. The living room was bright despite a rainy day and has rooftop views as well as views of taller buildings on Princes Street. The bedrooms has no views. The apartment was right on the Royal Mile and in the middle of activity..so a very convenient location. Drawbacks: Not mentioned on the website were the following two things: 1) There is no lift in the building. A narrow staircase winding at certain points makes its way up to the rooms. I had a baby in the stroller who had to be carted up by my husband and myself everytime we went up or down. So not convenient in terms of stroller usage. Also, the apartments are in a building seperate from where the reception is located (in a building that house hikers). So call before hand to find out the address of the reception where you need to report to and check in. Loved the apartment - not sure if I would choose it again cos it makes it difficult to access with a baby.

The apartment was a lovely surprise, right on the Royal Mile and comfortable, modern, clean. Perfect location -- could rest between any of the shows and tours we took without having to do anything other than step off the street! The staff were so helpful and friendly. A mom, a 21 year old and an 11 year old all enjoyed the wireless, cable TV and full amenities. Thank you.

Up 3 flights of centuries old, worn stone steps. Unsuitable for young children, older people or wheelchair users. Although the surroundings were pleasant the photos had obviously been taken with a wide angle lens and when the apartment was very new. The decor was worn and the rooms were not cleaned to the high standard expected from the price we paid. We had a great time in Edinburgh but to be honest received nothing more for our money than we could have got from a Travelodge at a fraction of the price. And don't sleep on the front as Royal Mile parties until the early hours.

Very steep steps up to the apartment - would be be a bit of a trial with small kids. Apartment consisted of double room, twin room, bathroom & lounge/kitchen - enough room for a family of 4 (or possibly 6 if you put an air bed up in the lounge).Expensive for 2 but if there are 4/6 of you then recommended.

Edinburgh is a very expensive place to stay !this accomadation is good value for money ,the only thing we found wrong was the lack of double glazing.

What a beautiful apartment! The location could not be beat and there were plenty of great restaurants around. Everything in easy walking distance. Our kids loved the extra space and the comfort. Beautifully renovated with all the amenities thought of. Would definitely stay here again and wish we could have stayed longer!!

We had just a fantastic stay there. Unfortunetely, we regret that we could only stay one night. The flat has a fantasctic view, great location, modern facilities, etc... The only downside is the stairs to the flat, need some refurbishment. Otherwise, we believed that it's better than a hotel room, as you have much more space and intimacy. Great stuff!

Fantastic location & luxurious apartment - I would never stay in a hotel in Edinburgh again when I know that these apartments are there! I cannot recommend enough.
