Its easy to find us. From the south or the north east head for Glasgow and take the M8A8 to Gourock. There are two ferries operating from Gourock we recommend you use the Western Ferries from McInroy's Point. Ferries are every 20 minutes and half hour and disembark immediately opposite the hotel. The alternative route is via Loch Lomond to the north, over the Rest and Be Thankful and the A815 to Dunoon taking the coast road from Sandbank.

Room clean and comfortable with great seaview. Decor a little tired in bedroom and bathroom a little basic. TV small and square. Staff friendly and helpful.

Good but overpricedThe hotel is an old style building set out over 3 floors. Restaurant offers table d'hote for set price £23-50 or the bar offers a la carte with a good range at reasonable prices. The food served is excellent. The rooms are large and spacious with good sized bathroom and shower over bath. decor and tiling a bit tired but clean. Other fittings to a good standard. Staff friendly and helpful. Worth checking direct with hotel for special offers because I paid £79 for a double B&B and on return home saw the same hotel offering a short break including excursions in our local paper for £89 half board

Lovely overnight stayExcellent value for money in this well-situated hotel. Room was good, faced the Firth of Clyde and it was immaculate. Breakfast was good and the room it was served in was lovely. I can see shy it is popular for weddings.

Excellent staff who were all local which is something of a rareity these days in hotelsthey were very friendly, helpful and a credit to the hotel. The food was excellent and the hotel is ideally situated for the ferry. Rooms pretty basic and typial of an old bulding but clean and comfy.

We were greeted with a warm cheery smile at the front desk, even though it was late in the evening when we got there. The staff were all very friendly, Our room was fabulous looking out over the water, with a relaxing ambience. We had breakfast in the dining room again looking out over the water.. I was just sorry we had not longer to stay.. The Hotel overall give a relaxed atmosphere with a very warm welcome.. If i wanted to go somewhere to chill out this would be one of the 1st places that would come to my mind.

The hotel was very nice but what lets it down is the very loud creaky floorboards in the corridors. Also the room that we were staying in went down hill a good bit probably due to subsidence.

We had a very good stay, the rooms were great and the food was superb, cant fault anything, and we will be visiting the hotel again soon. The entertainment on Saturday night could have been better, didn't think much of the guy with the amp!

A large hotel with impressive exterior, but a rather dated interior. Great food, especially in the cafe bar. Three bars and two restaurants. Great location. A bit pricey for an out-of-season room which was fairly basic - just 5 channels on TV for example.

Hotel was fine but in order to get to our room, we had to walk along a creaky corridor which smelt of cigarette smoke. There is a ban on smoking in hotels in Scotland but I suppose that if guests choose to smoke in their rooms, there is very little the hotel staff can do about it. All the same, the resulting smoky corridor rather spoilt our holiday. Also, the smoke drifted in under the door sill so that I could smell smoke in my bed at night and I had to go out and buy an air freshener in order to combat this.I had specifically asked for a room with a bath as I have difficulty using a shower but the bath was so short that it was only possible to sit in it rather than lie down in it! There were no lifts and the staircase wasn't easy to negotiate for people with a slight walking problem. The parking for the hotel was quire limited and we found it difficult to find a space after coming back from a short evening drive.Other than that we had a very enjoyable holiday in a place we'd never been to before despite living in Scotland for 30 years and our room was very quiet and restful. Just what we needed after a year or more of severe illnesses
