We really enjoyed the evening sunset torch lighting ceremony and the nightly entertainment on the terrace. I recommend the fish tacos. What a gorgeous setting as the sun sets! We were always greeted with "welcome home" and the staff was so friendly and helpful. We went to the Royal Lahaina luau - great show!

Staff is always super friendly and helpful. Elevators, still working on them. Good value. Very friendly and helpful staff. A little dated but very clean.

great hotel in more secluded part of ka'anapali beach, and accessible by the free trolley which runs very frequently to surrounding area and whaler's villiage. Hotel decor had a lovely hawaiian theme, and the rooms have all been very tastefully refurbished, and were well equipped. would definately stay there again, enjoyed our holiday immensley.

Enjoyed the Hotel. Good location. Bathroom lighting poor. Loved the comfot of the bed. Onsite restaurants very good but less expensive and more variety in Lahina. Need car to get tho these. Hotel Staff was very helpful. Pick up tour books and coupons at airport for restaurant and tour discounts. No problem parking but spaces are much smaller than we are used to, same as everywhere on the island. Did not use pool much with beach this close.

We stayed there with family and friends for our sons wedding at the Plantation house. We couldn't have been happier with the room, service and food. When we read some reviews before we arrived we were somewhat concerned. This resort is a great value. The rooms were great (they upgraded us to a partial ocean view) and the service was even better. Many of the more expensive hotels have pools that are far nicer. If you like pools that are more than basic pools and find that paying more a night for it the stay at one of the other hotels in Kaanapali.

Some of the staff at the front desk are not friendly! They would keep themselves busy so the don't acknowledge you waiting on them! Also it would be very helpful to have standard written directions to go to these excursions. The hotel needs to have a bigger sign with his name on it. It is not easy to locate!

Location. Fantastic location, great views, very romantic and excellent staff.

You can't beat this location. Right on the beach. You can walk to great snorkeling at Black Rock. You can walk to Hula Grill. We watched whales beaching all morning from our table at the restaurant during breakfast. Hotel was clean. Staff was friendly & helpful. Food was decent (but not great). They have activities (luau, stargazing, classes, etc.) and rentals (snorkel gear, boogie boards), which will also save you some money. Only complaint: elevators were really slow sometimes. If you're high-maintenance, go somewhere else. But if you just want a great location, nice & clean hotel with good price, I recommend this hotel.

We stayed in this hotel on our anniversary 9 years ago. They have remodeled the rooms in the tower since then and they are really nice. The bed is wonderfully comfortable! The hotel is right on a great beach with gentle waves and clear blue water. We snorkeled around Black Rock and saw more turtles than we did on a paid snorkel trip to "Turtle Town." We ate breakfast in the dining room on Sunday morning. My husband had the buffet and I ordered off the menu. The service was great and the chef accomodated my special requests and even went above and beyond. We had lunch another day which was very good. We only had two complaints. We stayed on the 5th floor with a partial oceanview and every morning at 5:30 a.m. we were awakened by the sound of a rolling metal kitchen rack, and later in the morning by the sound of the rolling trash bin the gardener used. The light above the sink in the vanity area was awful! I had a really hard time putting on my makeup. If they would just put in soft white bulbs, it would probably solve the problem. Other than the two minor problems, we loved the hotel and will stay there again.

If you are looking for somewhere quiet with easy beach access this is the place. The location was perfect for shopping and other excursions, but you will need a rental car to get around. Sadly, the hotel charges for parking and on several occasions when we came in after the luau had started, we had a hard time finding a parking space. We stayed in one of the cottages; it was old, but met our needs as we did not spend a lot of time in the room. From the cottages, it is just a 2 minute walk to the beach, either of the pools or the restaurants. Our room was very quiet at all times of the day, which is rare for any hotel. It was also nice to have a good working refrigerator in the room for leftovers or drinks. Most of the staff was friendly and helpful. On our first day they did not wash/replace the used coffee cups or coffee pot and the shower had not been cleaned but each day after the first, the room was cleaned well even though we did not complain. The beds were very comfortable but would have liked it if the beds had been a little larger as we had 3 adults in the same room, so queens instead of doubles would have been appreciated. I was disappointed in the luau. It was very crowded and the seating was arranged poorly so that I missed a lot of show trying to see around other guests and the wait staff. The food was good even though it was buffet style and what I could see of the show was very good. Over all, this hotel was a good value. The rates were reasonable. I may try a different hotel on our next visit but would not be opposed to staying here again.

Had never been to Maui before and the Royal Lahaina was great for us. Friendly staff. Spacious room for two. Great view of the beach/ocean even from a partial ocean view room for us (we were on the 8th floor so that may have helped.) We liked being away from some of the hubbub on the other side of Black Rock, but within easy walking distance of food/shopping. Beach access was great, but for body surfing, etc, you'd need to go elsewhere. Bathroom vanity lighting was really poor, but other than that would highly recommend the place.

The resort is located on the most beautiful stretch of Kanaapali beach, very quiet and close to Black Rock which is a nice snorkeling site. Most of the activities are around Whalers Village which is 15 minutes away if walking or 5 minutes away with a free shuttle bus which operates inside the Kanaapali resort. Make sure you understand where you are sleeping because they have regular hotel rooms and cottages. I tought my package included an hotel room instead I got a cottage which was nice anyway. Don't expect excellent services or beautiful pools. Overall I tought that this resort was an excellent value for the money and I would recommend it to those who are looking to relax and stay away from the crowd. Perfect for families or for vacations longer than 1 week.

Hotel located in great location on beach. Two great snorkeling locations on either side of the hotel, about a 10 minute walk. Pools were not as nice as some of the more expensive resorts but we did not spend much time at the pool. The hot tub was pretty dismal, tiny and could have been hotter. Make sure you get a renovated tower room rather than a cottage. One elevator was out of service during our stay so it took awhile to get from point A to point B. Parking was pretty terrible...often full and spots were super small. I couldn't justify paying more for valet.

Room products (coconut body lotion). Parking too far away at Luau times.

We stayed on a trip for our 5 year anniversary. The hotel was awesome! We had a great view and the service was excellent. The beds were very comfortable, and the bathrooms were nice and clean. The only thing that we wish that we wouldv'e had in the room was a microwave. Things are very contemporary and tastefully decorated. There are no hotel activities, but hey you are in Hawaii! Get outside!

MIy husband and I loved this resort. We were upgraded to oceanfront from terrace view for a small amt. of . It was so worth it- we slept with our door open and heard the ocean every night! It is a quiet beach- away from the bustle of the other resorts. The Royal Lahaina Terrace restaurant was good but a little pricey. They do not have any programs for children- we came without our kids so it was no big deal for us. I would highly recommend this charming resort to friends and famikly.

Our stay at the Royal Lahiana Resort was great. We stayed on the top floor (12th) of the hotel in an ocean view room. Everything was clean. The room was plenty big enough for two adults. Our view was amazing. The bed was comfortable. The shower was big. The only negatives were that the parking spots were very small and one of the elevators was very slow. However, to be fair, I think that they are replacing all three elevators and can only do one at a time. All in all, I would have no problem staying at the Royal Lahiana Resort the next time I visit Maui.

The bed is so comfy and the washroom is huge! Got bitten by a mosquito, but still had a good stay! The hotel was one of the best experience we had in Maui. The view is fantastic and hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating. Clean and a good size bedroom, plus a huge washroom.

We stayed at this magnificent resort for our 20th anniversary. It was spectacular! Not only did they give us a free upgrade (from garden view to OCEAN FRONT view), but they also sent up a bottle of champagne with a card. The resort's staff treated us wonderfully. The room was gorgeous. We were serenaded each night with the live Hawaiian music and hula dancer right outside our lanai downstairs. It was so hard to leave our "perfect" room! Restaurant food was average, but couldn't beat the sunset views looking straight out between Molokai and Lanai. We'll definitely go back here next time/in the future.
