Very courteous and efficient staff on reception, they provided a friendly welcome. My single room was very clean and a good size with views towards the train station. I wasn't bothered by traffic noise but those more used to rural silence might find it difficult. The entrance to the hotel is tucked away at the side of the building but access is possible via the front restaurant door. Whilst not cheap this hotel is one of the more reasonably priced in Oxford which unfortunately is generally overpriced. The lack of parking and lift could be a problem for some but the hotel is ideally situated if you arrive in Oxford by train or bus and are able bodied enough to walk and carry your luggage up stairs. Suitable for business or leisure travellers, a short walk and you're in the centre of town with great bars and restaurants. I'm glad I chose this hotel.

This was the most expensive room we had in two weeks. Disappointing. Our room seemed shabby and very tiny, despite the fresh fruit. Didn't look like photos. Stylish shower left a lake on the floor. But close to the heart of Oxford! Parking 2 blocks away.

This was our 3rd visit to the Royal Oxford Hotel its location is the main reason we stay here.Its easy access from the park and ride and Railway station and easy walk in to the city centre.The rooms have always been immaculately clean and the little extras i.e. water and fruit bowl are a nice touch.However be aware that it can be noisy as it is located near a busy traffic junction.Also you do not need to pay the high price for breakfast as there are plenty of places in Oxford to get a 'Full English ' at half the cost.The check in staff were very polite and helpful every visit.

Overnight stayThe only problem I had was the hotel had no lift but the porter did take your luggage to your room and explained how things worked which was a lovely idea. Didn't have breakfast as thought it was a bit on the expensive side. Good location near the train station couldn't really have been closer. Was a lovely overnight stay.

Adequate Oxford hotelEfficient check in. Rooms a little dated and not very spacious considering it was the deluxe larger double. Relatively expensive for quality of accommodation although bottled water in the room was a nice touch. Bed comfortable enough and en suite satisfactory. Noisy location alhtough secondary glazing helped reduce this. Breakfast expensive at £11 so we went to a nearby cafe instead.

Royal Oxford HotelOn my visit (Spring '09), the hotel had recently been refurbished. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. I was slightly concerned about the road noise having read other reviews on the site, but this was not a problem for us because the windows have now been soundproofed. A very pleasant weekend.

Nice and central location, though actual hotel not very obvious. Plenty of drink/biscuit supplies in the room, plus fruit bowl much appreciated.

We booked this hotel at the last minute, deciding that we wanted to include Oxford in our itinerary. The hotel is undergoing major renovations, so initially I was concerned, but it turned out to be a great place to stay. The help were most accomodating, and our room was huge. It was very convenient to the train and bus stations and center of town. We had a great stay and thought it was good value for the money.

Friendly staff. Light and airy feel. The rooms were clean and comfortable.Pity the restaurant/bar is closed(other than for breakfast) restricting facilities available at the hotel. This would be a deciding factor in not staying there again. A shame as its location between the station and the city is ideal.

Very Good, clean accomodation with some nice touches (fresh fruit in room, bottled water, chocolates etc.). Comfortable bed, good quality shower etc. and good wardrobe space. At £95 a night about average for Oxford, but better than many other places that charge the same rate. Would definitely stay again.

Parking is a problem, but other than that, good value , good central location, helpful and efficient staff,room clean and nicely styled and beds confortable. We have stayed here before and will do so again.
