Best Value in ScotlandStayed with some friend for an overnight. Huge room, comfy bed. Not particularly modern or opulent but good honest value for money. I would stay again in confidence.

Really shabby and grotty, but convenient city-centre location. Bed was comfy.

pleasant stay in AberdeenEnjoyed our stay in Aberdeen. Hotel was in a central location on quaint cobbled street. The bedroom was on a slope, added to the character of the Hotel. Would recommend it and would stay there again.

Never stat there again!!!!!The girl on reception was helpful and friendly, the room was a disgrase, there was damp on the ceiling in the room, black marks on the walls, carpet was thread dare. In the bathrooom there was no towel-rail but half the socket was on the wall, the grim in the corners of the floor was so bad we had to wear something on are feet at all times, the hot tap on the sink was twisted the wrong way not over the basin. The breakfast was as if it had been there all night, inedible...I have pictures of the room if you would like them..We never said anything at the hotel, only because we were there for one night, and diidn't think it would make a difference. But for £89 I really was disgusted...

Good locationThe Royal is in easy walking distnce of the rail station, the bus station and Union Street. The staff are friendly and helpful. The building has seen better days but it's OK. Certainly not a luxury hotel.

Cheap and cheerfulStaff were all very friendly, but you can't help the feeling that the hotel has seen better days. There was nothing obviously dirty, but it left you with the feeling that things could be cleaner. The room was large and spacious, but the furniture and decor dated. If you want something cheap in the centre of Aberdeen this may be for you, but I would prefer to spend a little more next time and get something better.

we were on the 4th floor which was being decoratedDisappointed in comparison from the 4 seasons in aberwystwyth the night b4 last for the same price.Bit grubbyRoom above had tv which worked which was more than the one in out actual; bedroom did. Volume didnt work.shaver socket and flourescent worked when it was pushed.over all b/f was adequate just and it was all a bit spartan given that the hotel looked delightful from the outsideStaff were very helpful to answer our questions as we came to see Kinds Colleg Uni

Good Value For MoneyAberdeen hotels are not cheap but this hotel is good value for the money, especially as it is in the town centre and in walking distance to the Railway Station (uphill). The place is clean and staff friendly. Some of the room decorations could do with a little renovation (nothing major they just look a little frayed at the edges).Excellent restaurant attached to the hotel for evening meals, breakfast is buffet style.Taxi from airport was £16.00 on a Sunday

Hotel was clean and the receptionist seemed nice. City Centre hotel with parking is a plus, even if you could only fit 4 cars in it. The room we stayed in had peeling wallpaper and a large tide mark where there had obviously been a leak from upstairs at some point. I would not have stayed there if we hadn't have got the room half price. The breakfast was buffet style and there was no way of knowing how long the beans or scrambled eggs had been out. I wasn't liking the look of them.

This would rate as possibly one of the worst nights I have experienced in paid accommodation. We were assigned a room on the first floor (very shabby) and directly outside our window was the 'liquid' nightclub and several other licensed premises. Not to be put off I assured my husband that all would be OK as it was a Monday night and there would not be much going on.....WRONG!! The dance music and revellers outside went on well past 3am, and to think we had paid the equivalent of $200 australian dollars for this makes me feel quite sick.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The only real drawback of this hotel is that due to its city centre location it can be very noisy late at night.

not bad... was a bit worried after reading other reviews but you get what you pay for in this case, certainly good value for money. room was nothing special but was clean and warm, beds were comfy. only complaint would be the shower - got in for a minute then it started blasting out boiling hot water, then freezing cold water.

In the centre of town so very noisy until 4 in the morning, fights, music and revving cars too. Breakfast not very good as hoped, marked as \"traditional scottish\" but no scottish parts to it at all. Needs some refurbishement.

This hotel is really really really bad. Do not stay here. I came to stay over as i had a gig here in the city. The staff were rude and did not smile, my room was Red hot and smells from the kitchen came inside. The wallpaper was pealing off, it was damp. Check out time was 11, i had a knock at the door at 11:03 and the cleaner just said \"OUT\" I said \"Sorry?\" and she replied \"GET OUT NOW\" It was obvious that she could not talk much english but this is disgusting service. Hotel looks fine from outside but wait till you get inside you room! you can get a travel lodge for the same price which will be modern clean and normal staff!!DONT STAY HERE I HAVE WARNED YOU!
