My girl friend & I booked 2 nights at this resort. When we arrived, we were told that our room was changed for one night. We booked a room that was oceanfront with 2 double beds, but got a room that was facing the street, 1 king bed and one child's bed. The desk manager told us that "everyone" gets this room for 1 night and then the next night they get the oceanfront room. Needless to say, we were really unhappy- spent much time discussing this issue with the desk- got nowhere. With no place to really go- we had to settle for this fiasco!!! The next day, we were told to have our bags at the desk at 12 noon- we had to repack- and finally, at about 2pm- we got the room we should have gotten for 2 nights. This was extremely unfortunate because the staff is basically very helpful & friendly and the food was great. Our oceanfront room was splendid- why couldn't we have gotten what we paid for originally. I will find it hard to ever return to this hotel- I don't trust them.

Very Bad hotel. Food is recycled, Tiny rocky beach disappointing especially when you go to a sunny destination. Entertainers very rude and no talent at all. Ants and bugs in room. Old A/C system. Never felt safe in and out of the hotel.

Overall, fabulous place to vacation. The staff will go out of there way to ensure that you have a good time. The day & evening activities are great and you can have alot of fun which is what we wanted on our vacation. It was great and plan to return next January for more fun.

My sister and I stayed at this hotel for 5 days and 4 nights and we had a great time. Everyone was very friendly helpful we were accomodated to the fullest. The facilities were clean, the food was excellent and the entertainment was nice.

I loved my stay and so did my friends. We were genuinely sad when we had to leave. The only complaints that I had were that hot water was scarce, food wasn't offered around the clock, and motorized water sports weren't included. Other than that everything was great. The staff were super friendly and entertaining. They sort of became like a second family to my friends and me. I just got back from my trip and I'm already planning the next one. You definitely, without a doubt get your monies worth. Even though we stayed for 7 nights, every time that we stepped out the front door and saw the ocean view, it was like a new and wonderful experience. The sunset is also unbelievable. I would recommend this hotel to any and everyone.

My husband and I visited the Royal Decameron in June and had a fabulous time! I'm a picky eater, and there was plenty to choose from at the buffet style breakast/lunch/dinners. We made reservations twice at the other restaurant within the resort and all meals were great there as well. We didn't swim in the pools much, because we love the ocean! We brought our own snorkel stuff and had a great time exploring just out front of the resort. They do provide snorkel gear, but I heard some say it was usually checked out and you had to wait awhile for it. The floating trampoline is a ton of fun just in front of the resort and the happy hours around the swim-up bar are wild and crazy! The restaurant staff and entertainment crew are very friendly and fun. They have nightly shows after dinner that are fun to watch. And you can't beat the price on this resort for everything you get in return! The only negative (and I've seen it mentioned by a few other travelers on some other sites) is the check-in. We arrived around 2 p.m. on a Wednesday and they put us in a room on the back-side of the hotel - no ocean-view as promised. Luckily, we had so much fun at the happy hour, we didn't really care that much about this for one night, but it was dissapointing. The next morning, we had to pack everything up again and move to another room around 3 p.m. which had a huge balcony and great view! They compensated us with a free bottle of champagne... We ventured out on the hip strip a couple days for shopping and to head down to Margaritaville and had no problems whatsoever.

Oh my Gosh, this was an excellent vacation. It was nice and clean on the inside. You can eat off the ground. I really commend the staff. They are so friendly and great with customer service. I recommend the hotel to anyone. Very comfortable stay. I'll be back in July

This makes our third stay at the Decameron. The staff are great and food and drinks were good. We were put in one of the apartment rooms and it was great. Had a great view of the ocean. It's right on the hip strip and only five minutes from the airport. The entertainment was good also, especially the MENTO BAND. They played and sang during lunch and dinner. I highly reccomend this hotel.

Going back again in spring. This makes our third stay at the Decameron. The staff are great and food and drinks were good. We were put in one of the apartment rooms and it was great. Had a great view of the ocean. It's right on the hip strip and only five minutes from the airport. The entertainment was good also, especially the MENTO BAND. They played every evening at dinner time. There are very few children running around, cause there's really not alot for the kids to do. This is more of an adult hotel.

Stayed 3 nights and 4 days . Enjoyed very much. Very clean hotel with great service and food. I am a frequent traveler and own at Atlantis, Bahamas. I had just as good of of time and enjoyed the all inclusive. Please read my review. The other negative reviews were wrong. I am going to stay again next December. I loved this place!!!

We paid for an oceanview room and were put in #44 which did not exist on their room listing. Two days were spent without water in the room-hot or cold-the all inclusive bar included only Jamaican rums and not much more so if you don't like those sweet tropical drinks you were out of luck. We were promised our paid for accommodations the next day and asked to check out of room #44 at noon and we would be in our oceanview room by 1:30PM. Well in reality we were not given a new room until 4:30PM and the first offer was for a double bedded room-not the King we paid for. At this point my temper produced the paid for accommodations. I would never recommend or stay here again. The hotel was once a Jack Tar but has been purchased with Columbian Cartel money and the improvements are minimal.

My husband and I just returned from staying at the hotel. We will never go back! We stayed for a total of four nights and only the last night was a pleasant one (only because we demanded a new room). 1st day-sink clogged, 2nd day-air conditioner unit malfunction at 4AM (had to turn off circuit breaker), 3rd day-ceiling fell in at 4AM. Other small incidents were: was only able to get a hot shower (1) day, and our door to our room was so old and warped that it took a great deal of strength to open. The staff was not accomodating, the guest service manager (x) was extremely rude and arrogant. We have never had such an unpleasant stay and we have been to many islands before. We ask the manager (Mr. y) for a refund or some kind of compansation for our ruined vacation and he said he could not do anything, it's their policy to provide NO refunds! We also talked to many other guest staying at this hotel and quite a few of them also had unpleasant stays at this hotel. Please choose another hotel or better yet..... TRY ARUBA!

If you have any doubt about choosing a vacation resort, just think Royal decameron montego bay, where you'll notice the difference from you enter there, it's a world of fun and entertainment all inside. Food excellent, you can't even mange it all. It's time you know.

The receptionists were very rude, with no social skills whatsoever..The hotel is pretty clean, and the food was delicious. The personnel at the front desk and the management need to get trained, or need to get fired!! If you have a need, they make you wait for a long time before you can get helped. Overall, I do not recommend Royal Decameron..

I take a trip with my grandmother every year and we chose the Royal Decameron based on the location (5 min from airport) and the fact that almost every room is oceanfront. The staff was very accommodating and the food and drinks were plentiful. We had a great time and plan on returning.

I was disapointed. This was my third time to Jamaica (I love Jamaica) and I read the other reviews on online travel website before I booked this hotel. The previous reviews seemed overall good. I am not a picky person, I am very easy to please. I like almost everything BUT this hotel. This place was the worst resort hotel I have ever stayed at. I like class and style and luxury this hotel was not it. The food was terrible ( I eat anything), my room was okay nothing special. My bathroom had alot of mold in the tiles. The door to my room was hard to open and kept jamming. The property is not upkept. The patio and walkway are crumbling. All the time I was wondering is who gave this place a good review and why. The Sunset Jamaica Grande and Resort hotels in Ocho Rios cost the same price and they are 100% better. This place is a huge rip off. No one with class would like this hotel. Everything was old. The best thing at this hotel were the dancers. They were excellent. The hotel should increase thier salaries.

Despite other reviews I still wish to mention, that my friend and I had a wonderful time. The ambiance was great, the food good and the staff extremely friendly and charming. My room keeper was great The staff for the water sport activity, qualified (squba) The location was perfect for us, everywhere we walked people were not pushy just friendly No problem!!

The front desk staff is abominable, and it defies logic that anyone returns to this resort with the way they treat guests. You are treated like the staff is doing you a favor by letting you stay at the resort that you paid for. In our experience alone, we were repeatedly lied to about our room and reservations, as well as many other things. Aside from being rude, cold, and ignoring people?s questions and wants, the hotel also operates scams, and we discovered this for a fact. On our fourth night there, my sister and I met this lovely British family who had been a victim of a ?hotel upgrade? scam. They explained to me that they had received a note under their door saying that if they agreed, they would be "Upgraded" from the RDMB to a specific five-star resort in Negril. The father showed me the actual piece of paper they received. When the family packed up and loaded the bus to this Negril resort, they soon realized they were being driven the wrong direction. They were being driven TO RUNAWAY BAY!!! They were taken to the Royal Decameron Runaway Bay, which was a decomposing pit. The front desk staff told them that they didn't have reservations anywhere except Runaway Bay, and would have to stay there. The exasperated family had to pitch a fit to get their room at The Decameron back, and still ended up having to stay at Runaway Bay for two nights before they threatened to sue and were allowed to go back to the Decameron. They were promised AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT HOTEL and then suffered a bait and switch. The father, who is a lawyer, has said he will sue, especially since he has the written notice promising him the Negril hotel.
