If you're looking for a nice quiet relaxing short, or long, getaway this is the place to stay. The oceanview cottage was excellent, but if you're looking for a 5 star place this isn't the one for you. The cottages have an island outdoorsy feel, so watch out for the occasional ant or two. Our cottage was located right infront of the ocean on the beach....beautiful relaxing view. The all incusive bar was nice, unfortunately there were no premium alcohol available, just the basic bottomshelf. Everyone was courteous and very helpful. Anything needed was brought to us asap. The buffet wasnt that great; if you prefer spicy authentic jamaican food, you will not find it here. The excurisons were excellent, definitely visit Dunn's Waterfalls. Having said that, the oceanview on the resort was so breathtaking, you wouldnt want to leave. I WOULD DEFINITELY DO THIS AGAIN!!!!!!!!

This was my first time to Jamaica and I was very happy with my experience. The hotel looks better and more tropical than many of the resorts we saw. We had originally booked a garden view cottage but got a garden suite which was fine... large king size bed (even though I was staying with a female friend the bed is so huge it was probably better than the single size we would have had)... plus we got so much more space living room/2 TVs/refrigerator. The one comment I have about the room is because of the humidity it did smell somewhat musty (more noticeable when the AC wasn't on)... which may be a problem with someone with asthma. Remember you're in Jamaica and it's not a 4-5 star hotel. My friend and I are vegetarians and had no problems with the food at the resort. We never made it to the snack bar from being so full from the rum drinks and extreme meal buffets. The drinks at this resort are strong but tasty. Beware! haha We had a great time kayaking in the ocean and glass bottom boat. A example of the staff's willingness to be helpful, my friend lost her sunglasses on the boat and the guides spend 15 minutes looking for them in the ocean and found them! It was quite amusing to everyone on the boat. We found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Although it is a family resort the kids are mostly away from the rest of the resort in the "kids club". The only kids I saw were well behaved and under the guidance of adults. Tip: rum on jellyfish sting takes away the pain.

We had a mishap with our room when we first checked in (LATE), but the staff was able to fix the situation by the next day. They upgraded us from a gardenview cottage to an oceanview cottage and it was fantastic!! The staff were very friendly and helpful. They were hardworking and kept the resort immaculate. We had no trouble getting a lounger on the beach at any time. Giovanni at the swing bar was a hoot!! The daily/nightly entertainment was a lot of fun. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for 6 nights as the first part of our honeymoon (12 nights total). We went to Sandals for the remainder of our trip. Let me say this is much better than Sandals (see my review for Sandals Ochos Rios). We scheduled transportation which was about $50USD from the airport. It took us about 1 1/2 to get there because the shuttle won't leave until it has a full load of people. Upon arrival, the front desk was very nice. We got a punch drink immediately. It was unbelievable. We originally booked a garden bungalow but were upgraded to an oceanfront bungalow. We literally walked outside our place and were on the beach within a few steps. The room itself was not a luxury room but worked. It was private and quiet so we didn't have to worry about being disturbed. It was definitely not a 5 star room. The bathroom had tiles missing and the tub hardware was rusty. The bed was hard. It did have a separate room for clothes and a safe. TV was small, but we weren't there to watch tv. AC worked but not the coldest. We let it run all day while we were gone and was cold by time we got back. Grounds were kept up. Security guard at entrance and broken glass on top of walls for added security. Entertainment was ok. Food was 3 star food. A little repetitive after the first few nights. Don't expect seafood. The drinks were great and strong. I lived off of strawberry and rum frozen drinks. Free local cigarettes too. The beach was great. Raked and kept up. You won't find a better place for your money. Would definitely go back again. Make sure you do the Ochos Rios Highlights Tour.

THIS RESORT IS THE BEST THING! we had NO problems! we were welcomed at the front desk with drinks, and we couldnt be more impressed! this is by no means a 5 star hotel, but we werent looking for that either! we loved the bungalows, not your typical hotel room! nightly entertainment: beach bonfire with couples contest, battle of the sexes, singers/musicians, drinking contests & name that song during the day, tables setup with necklaces, wood carvings etc for sale! the food left something to be desired, but it was edible and plentiful! we were there to enjoy the culture, beach and environment! the staff keeps you laughing, entertained and pleased! CANT WAIT TO RETURN! they make sure you have a blast!

This was a ladies only vacation for 5 friends from work and we all very very pleased with everything. The beach was not crowded and we easily found chairs on the beach. The water activies were wonderful with the credit for this going to FABIAN AND OMARK who worked very hard to insure we had a fun and safe experience. If you go there definitely look them up.Never have I been to a friendlier resort with everyone so willing to be of help.I really liked the little cabanas.Be sure to say hi to KADEON at the burger/pizza restrant, we really enjoyed talking to her. The food was plentiful and good at the buffet, so good I gained about 5 lbs.My co travelers and I were all sad to be leaving but will definitely return.

Everyone working at this resort goes above and beyond to ensure your happiness..THIS, to me is the most important thing. They wanted us to enjoy our trip. could the rooms be more luxurious? sure. but then you'd be in one of those 850 room resorts with the long elevator ride to your room. Accomodations were clean and always being tended to. Food...not elaborate but not bad, certainly no reason to complain. 12 acres of resort basically removed from the hub- bub of life. My second visit and I hope to have a third. Just what everyone with a busy life needs...a great escape!!!!.

The resort is a great place to relax and it's excellent for what it is. The beaches are very nice. I basically sat on the beach and relaxed while I was there. The cottages are quite cozy and I certainly prefer them over a hotel room. I think the food can be better though. I expected fresh fish, etc. but I never really got that. The food was a bit bland. However, for an all inclusive resort, it is not bad. Entertainment was quite fun. Some of the service staff were excellent and attentive. Great value for money. Would definitely come back and spend more time. A cottage on the beach is highly recommended.

I have visited this hotel many times (>6). Often on my own as was the case on my most recent trip. The resort is SAFE --- they monitor who is leaving at night and ensure you return safely. The Staff is dedicated to you enjoying your stay. George at the Swing Bar is known throughout the world for the fun times to be had there just before dinner. The quiet pool is a nice place to relax and enjoy the sun away from it all. There are typically lots of visitors from the UK; Spain and Canada, so I've had the opportunity to make lots of good friends around the world.
