The service at reception was friendly if a little slow. The breakfast could have been served a little quicker but the man doing the serving was very industrious and did his best to hurry things along. The quality of the food was good and the restaurant was very clean and fresh smelling.

I was visiting a family member in hospital in Reading the hotel printed me a route to the hospital and any other routes I needed. They booked my taxis for me. This was a very good hotel and have no problems with recommending them.

The attached resturant is absolutely outstanding, which is bacically my reason for staying. The rooms are very basic, however keen and tidy. My main issue would be with the lack of ventilation, thus making the rooms very warm in the summer.

Room was of poor quality with a very bad outlook. Old fashioned furniture and in need of an update. Service was good although Visa machine seemed faulty. Very central in Reading and works if you need to get onto a Train as I did. Would try not to stay here again though.

Sorry, this hotel was a favourite of mine for a while, some rooms are ok(not great), but some are very poor quality - the noise can also be an issue, Dont stay on hot summers days, no air con!!!

Room was tiny and positioned above boiler or air conditioning so was simply too hot to stay in for any length of time without fear of heat stroke/death. Shower was also useless. Perhaps other rooms in the hotel are better, but for what i got this was absolutely terrible value for money. Also food is extremely high priced and terrible, i honestly would not give to a homeless person what i was served for a club sandwich (which cost nearly £8).

Second time I have stayed at this hotel, neither visit was amazing! reasonably priced so I guess you get what you pay for! room seemed OK initially but on further inspection window blind was broken and bathroom window was held firmly shut with two large screws so no ventilation in the bathroom.TV reception is near enough non existent as it was on my previous visit so I can only assume the hotel has not invested in a suitable aerial.People on reception, bar area and serving breakfast all had trouble understanding English which can be very frustrating in your own country!

Restaurant is Superb, I have stayed often and never had a problem but this time the room was not very clean & the shower was a dribble . Appalling when you want a fresh start to the day. I mentioned it to the staff on check out so hopefully its resolved. However I will give it another chance next time, as I say, on previous occasions it has been fine.

The hotel is in a great position in the centre,so we were able to leave the car in the free car park and walk to the local bars in minutes. The hotel itself was friendly and comfortable, breakfast was great. All in all I was impressed great value at £75.

quite a small but nice single room. Very loud air-conditioning outside, which stopped me from sleeping until I rang reception at 11.40pm or so and they switched it off...Breakfast, which was included in the price, was brought to the room before start of "regular" breakfast hours, which was very convenient!

Placed in cold and dirty attic room. When I finally got up many winding steps to the attic, it was not what I expected for the money. Floor and furniture sloped, so eveything placed on bedside table rolled off ! The breakfast food was good, but as it was served in the indian restauarant the stale smell of curry was not the most inviting.

Service on arrival was quite bad. Left me with no idea where I was going to room with big bags, and only helped when I had searched (with baggage) virtually entire hotel. Very overpricesd for what it is.

Very conveniently situated in the centre of town. Friendly staff, and good breakfast. For me, the only down-side was that the hotel seemed like a maze, with corridors leading in all directions and very few signposts - I would hate to have to find my way out in an emergency, and bags have to be carried up winding staircases.

The room was very noisy overlooking the main street, no airconditioning so had to open windows for ventilation but noise of revelers leaving pubs kept us up til th smll hours. During our stay there were only 4 guests in the hotel so don't understand why we were given what must be one of the worst double rooms. Got up the next mornign only to be told the kitchen was closed because there were not enough guest, as such breakfast was in another hotel round the corner if we wanted it. Over all not a good experience.

Hotel location was handy & central to amenities. However, my main issue was the cleanliness of hotel being of a poor standard, badly stained carpeting throughout the hotel but especially in the bedroom, additionally, the paintwork was stained with spillages etc. Nevertheless, the staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. All in all the hotel was quite tired looking and I feel was in need of refurbishment throughout, on the plus side though was the central location which although in the heart of the City Centre was not close enough to be disturbed by the reveling party goers. No LIft.
