The Royal Albion Hotel opened after an extensive refurbishment in Sept 2000. This majestic building built in 1826 boasts a prime location on Brightons victorian promenade opposite Brighton Pier and midway between Brighton Conference Centre and Marina. Short walks will bring guests to the magnificent Royal Pavillion and the Lanes, famous for their fashionable boutiques and fascinating antique jewellery shops. All 185 bedrooms provide modern amenities expected by todays traveller, some rooms feature jacuzzi baths, air conditioning, balcony and sea views. The Royal Albion is situated at the Junction of the A23 and the A259 on the seafront opposite the Brighton Pier. Brighton is 26 miles from London Gatwick Airport and is reached via the M23 and A23. By sea cross channel ferries from Dieppe Dock at Newhaven which is 10 miles east of Brighton on the A259 coast road. Direct train services are available from Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and London Victoria and Brighton Station is 1.5 miles from the Hotel. Good deal BrightonHotel is perfect, especially for the price. Location couldnt be better. Close to pier, beach, bus station, restaurants etc. Will definately stay again.

The hotel is quite tatty and the breakfast was pretty nasty - But it was relatively cheap and our room did have a jacuzzi bath which was an unexpected but nice suprise. Overall, i'd say its fine for a one night stay but I wouldn't want to stay any longer

Could have done with a new bed, bedroom door lock was difficult to use, key didnt always open or lock the door, no extra security features on door in case door didnt lock. Location is great for shopping in Brighton, Car Parking you have to find on the street near by or pay £15 for 24 hours in near by car park. Buffet breakfast choice is good.

Over pricedlounge , reception and bars are lovely, althought staff must learn to smile more. Food was good , but buffet breakfast a nightmare as long queues., room was ok did ask for non smoking , but didnt get, looked out over the stiene which was nice, bathroom needs attension, bed comfy though a little dusty around bed head board and skirting boards raditor was full of dust., and needs touching up with white gloss would make it look better, carpet very worn and patched up, i think i paid to much money i would have expected around £120 for the 2 nights not £180.00, they could do alot better as this is a prime site for visitors, , hasnt put me of though , if i see a good price advertise i would go again, i was at a wedding there and have to say they did a lovely job all day for the newly married couple , party was great, xx

The location was great, but the hotel was surrounded by scaffolding. Windows in room let in a draught as were quite old. Good value, its fine to stay in for a couple of nights , but the buzzing of the aircon (that couldn't be switched off) was very annoying. Also, thin walls and floors so not good if you're a light sleeper!

this hotel is like a step back in time, although the whole place could do with a thoroughly good spring clean. considering i only paid 68 pounds a night i was charmed by the place. the staff were very helpful, courteous and there was even security on the door in the evening. the double jacuzzi bath was fab. our party had a wonderful time.

Great location, desparately needs a refurbishStayed one night on a Friday. The location is hard to beat -- right at the top of the Brighton pier. However, the hotel desparately needs to be refurbished. The furniture is tired, the hotel smells of decay, the beds are terrible and the food is terrible.

This hotel could benefit from a dragging into the 21st Century. Wallpaper & carpets very dates & the whole place had a feel of a dingy 60s knock shop. That said, the location is amazing and if you just want to rest your head and ain't bothered about the surroundings, its ideal.

A place to sleepWe just used the room as a crash pad so although the room was tired and hot (the air con had broken), it didn't matter as the price we paid matched the quality. As a pampering trip - NO, a place to sleep - YES. Breakfast was satisfactory also and staff were pleasant and polite.

Cheap and cheerful!Got a good deal on this room. 3 nights in a double for just over £160! The room was of a decent size, decor was 'fading' but clean. Window didn't open, which was the main gripe but other than that, I have no complaints. You get what you pay for. Staff were all helpful and cheery. Location excellent. To be honest, all the Royal Albion needs is redecorating.

Not to be recommended HotelThe hotel is in a great position. Unfortunately at the moment it is undergoing a major overhaul I trust when or should I say if it gets finished it should be a reasonable place to stay. At the moment the hotel is past it's sell by date and cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. When we booked into the room the toilet had not been cleaned from the previous occupants there was excrement on the toilet seat and the bowl had not been flushed. On Friday as well as Saturday night our room 153 was subjected to disco noise and vibration until 2 am. At the moment I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Anne.

excellentt value one night stay in centrally located hotelStayed here for one night at the end of June 2009. Great location, room and en suite both were very clean. Hotel was in the middle of a complete make over, and the room we stayed in had been made over partly. Very good value through laterooms, excellent location for night life, beech and pier. Would thoroughly recommed staying here, and will do again if I need to stay in Brighton in the near future.

Albion Hotel BrightonGreat location but very tired. I had a broken shower (didnt work) and sink in the bathroom and didnt find the room very clean. If you book a room for a group of friends who are just looking for a bed for the night which is relatively cheap then this hotel is fine but that's about it!

Good location, good value, but Basement room needing updatingWe paid a low price and probably got a low-quality room in the hotel. I don't have too many complaints with that!

Basement roomWe were allocated a twinroom in the basement furthest away from reception. The room itself was OK but the curtains were terrible. The nets were hanging down and the main curtains were again hanging down and very difficult to pull. Pulling the curtains was very important as workmen, renovating the hotel, had their huts right outside of the window and they started work very early in the morning.

Lovely HotelWe stayed a night on a Sunday; and managed to get a double room for the night for £47. It is a top hotel in Brighton so this was a fantastic deal. The room was clean and looked after and the external areas were clean and obviously had a lot of attention.

Poor serviceA bad 2 nights stay.Loud music all night till 7am from club across rd, fire alarm went off at 4am, all o us inclusing 80 yr old great grand mother had to be evuacated. Breakfast inediable.Poor all round
