Lovely but not as close as we taught to the O2.The hotel was lovely and good value for money. It was a ten min bus journey from the city and 15 mins walk to the O2.

All you need and moreGood location, 20 min walk into city, or bus from right outside hotel takes you there in 5mins.Spotless room with huge bed, and having your own sauna in the room was a funny unique novelty!

roxford lodgethe room was fantastic, spotless, and very comfortable. thoroughly enjoyed it. booked double room but got room with double and single bed which was a nice surprise as i was staying with my mum so we were both very comfortable. enjoyed the jacuzzi tub unfortunately never got a chance to use the sauna. only negative side is that breakfast wasn't included in the price which was disappointing but that was the one negative... everything else was fantastic!

great room , high quality , great bathroom , comfy bed , nice telly and stereo. Also plenty of room , plenty of tea / coffee , and also more made and brought to your room FOC if too lazy to do yourself :0)dont get caught in the sauna experience , you could grow old waiting for ti to get hot enough to sweat , but a good gimmickyou wont get better quality than this hotel , paid £100 for the night , paid more for a lot worse5 stars *****

A superb hotel with great friendly, knowledgeable staff, great value for money in Dublin. A sauna in your room is too good an opportunity to miss.

I'm a Dubliner by birth but have left the old sod for pastures new. Trust me, this is my fall-back B&B when I'm in town sans wife and drinking my way back to my youth with my buddies! Not that this isn't perfect for a couple too. It is.It's just the best run and cleanest B&B that I've ever stayed in. It's the perfect locale, safe and quiet but a 5 minute bus-ride into the heart of the action.I invariably walk back (circa 4am!) to the hotel and it's a nice refreshing and safe walk indeed.Cleanliness seems to be the first thing on the agenda and although the rooms can be very cramped they're just perfect for the traveller who has other things on his mind than staying in!I will come to this place forever and would love to buy it for when Landsdowne Road gets going again. It's literally 10 leisurely walking minutes away from the hallowed turf. There's a lovely full Irish breakfast which I've had once as I'm usually too hung over and it was dynamite. The owner is a very pleasant lady and is helpful when asked.Couldn't recommend it enough and in fact I won't 'cos all you people will show up and ruin my little treasure!

Lovely staff, fun stay, good location, if a little old-fashioned.

The Roxford Lodge was a very good hotel....The AeroBus from the airport stops very close by (ask for the School House Hotel stop)....and the local bus stops right outside the Hotel - numbers 4, 7, 8 and 45. You have to either buy a Dublin Pass or buy individual tickets on the bus with the exact money - usually 1.05 euro@ to go into the city. We liked the fact that the Hotel served a FREE tea/coffee tray on demand! We got a much reduced room rate - 99.9 euros@night - for our stay in half term week at the end of October 2008 through LateRooms. The room was very pleasant - had a jacuzzi bath and sauna in the room. All the staff were extremely welcoming.Whilst in Dublin we would recommend....The Literary Pub Crawl...Bewleys Tea Rooms ( They do lunchtime plays + soup and a roll for 15euros)...The city tour from Trinity College...The Wild Wicklow Tour and of course the Guiness Factory!!! Avoca shop is worth a look (good - but pricey cafe for lunch...unless you just stick to the soup!)Dublin is not cheap....one of the more expensive cities we have visited...we would recommend O'Neills (close to the tourist centre) for evening eating...a really good plateful of Irish Stew/Beef in Guiness costs about 12 euros. The tourist centre is very helpful!!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Roxford Lodge Hotel. We arrived a couple of hours before check in time, but they had a room ready for us. It is very conveniently on the same road as the stop for the airport coach. They offered us tea and coffee each time we got back to the hotel and were very friendly. We booked this hotel because it advertised it had a sauna in each room, which it does, however, they are not Finnish saunas, but infra red saunas. It was like a little wardrobe with heaters and the air is very dry in it. The one in our room was also at the opposite end from the bathroom, which meant the floor got wet when we moved between the shower and the sauna. Even so, very impressed to find a hotel in this part of the world with a sauna in each room. The bed was king size and very comfortable and the jacuzzi bath tub was a nice extra. Overall, we were very happy with the hotel. We did not eat in the hotel, so cannot comment on the food.

What a fantastic hotel with the best receptionist/waiter we have ever come across, he could not do enough for us.Breakfast was yummy with a huge choice from a Irish cooked breakfast, yogurts, cereal, fruit, toast, porridge..........etc.We will definately stay at Roxford Lodge again and would not hesitate recommending it to anyone.

Nice area, 15 mins to stephens green and close to RDS. We had a newly refurbished twin room which was perfect for the weekend away with my mum- one double bed and one single- each with their own tv. Loved the sliding doors which lead out to a small court yard at the back of the hotel. Thought the sauna (looks like a small wardrobe) used up alot of the space in the room unnecessarily as we didn't use it. Would stay here again definetley.

Our single rooms were compact but well decorated and very comfortable with all amenities. The lady on reception was really welcoming and very accommodating as we had to leave earlier than planned to catch our ferry and she very kindly organised a very early breakfast for us. She also supplied us with coffee and toast when we arrived at no extra charge. Would certainly use again.

1st room was very cramped with no wardrobe space (3 night booking!). Room was very hot with no thermostat - could not open windows (noisy road and on ground floor). Moved to a bigger room after 1st night - next door to rooms being refurbished - woken up at 8.30 by the sound of drills, hammers etc. Service very friendly and am dissappointed not to be able to recommend this hotel but unfortunately for the price of E400 for 3 nts you can do much better.

room small but very clean. hotel easy to get to and really close to the RDS!
