stay awayyou may have noticed that cleanliness and quality of room got a N/A because it wasnt clean so beyond poor and i didnt use my room, there were mushrooms growing in the bathroom, the twin room i booked wasnt available and my replacement single room was so bad i slept on the floor of my friends room as the smell was marginally better, we were offered no discount for the inconvienience of our prebooked room being unavailable or for the fact that we would have left before breakfast,to say we were happy to leave would be an understatement

One awful nightFrom the outside, this is a lovely looking old building. Sadly our room was horrible, small, the sink was cracked and dirty, I was worried that the bed was not clean to sleep in. This place is a complete dive. There was one unisex toilet for 5 rooms which I did my best not to use. I have stayed in budget accomodation many times, but this was the worst. Don't stay there!

We stayed here after a night out in Newcastle. It was only 10 mins in a taxi and far enough away that you didnt hear any city noise. The gentleman that took our booking was very helpfull and gave us the number of a very cheap taxi firm, as we had just been charged alot for another taxi, so be carefull!!It was quite a basic hotel, but for that fabulouse price its exactly what we expected.

Not too bad for the priceThe hotel wasn't too bad for the price. The rooms were odd-shaped and slightly run down. Could benefit from some work and renovating. Same goes with the bathrooms which was old and dingy, but clean enough. Sadly there was no toilet paper - but we had our own. The staff seemed a little unorganized but were very friendly and helpfull. Ok for an over-night if you're not expecting much and are on a budget - but I wouldn't stay much longer than that. Clean enough - but run-down.

Just what I expected, it was very cheap, therefore basic, but clean, quiet, easy for getting into town and the wireless internet was a bonus.

Well, where do I begin? Just don't come here. Looks are deceiving and you're in for a real treat If you find yourself standing outside of this place. My first disappointment came when I entered the \"hotel\" and found myself totally alone. Nobody around. Nothing. Took a few minutes before anyone showed up and, even then, I spent 20 minutes alone, waiting for someone with a basic grasp of English to show up. My second disappointment came when I entered my room. I saw a bed that was practically in the middle of the room. I had to push the bed up against the wall myself. Room service at its best. Many more disappointments were had but I'll just reel them off in quick succession, for your pleasure: cold showers, freezing bathrooms, dirty, cold (and smelly!) water from the room sink, broken furniture, crap television signals. The room got far too hot at night and people would slam doors after midnight. Then there was the whole \"rule\" business. Girlfriend and I got into an argument with the Manageress about kitchen use. Rules stated that the kitchen was free to use but yet we had to fork over £25 each just to use a toaster and store food and drink in a - not very clean - fridge. A manager arrived and stated that this rule is made very clear on their website. Which website? I visited numerous websites for Roselodge House (using the in-house, open, unsecure connection) and not one of them mentioned anything about this matter. Frustrating, annoying, loud, obnoxious, silly -- a few words I would use to describe this place. So, yeah, I made the mistake in going there. I'm writing this review so you don't have to.

Not a luxury place, but a fantastic value spot. I stayed there because I needed to catch an early flight out of Newcastle, and had an incredibly easy time catching the bus to central station (the 31 stops across the road and is about a 15 minute ride to the station). I'm a student, so my standards are pretty low, but it was comfortable, clean (for an old building), and quiet. I'd recommend bringing food with you since the neighborhood's pretty empty, but like I said, it's a short bus ride into the center of Newcastle.

Would not recommend this hotel to a soul! Arrived with noone on site, there is no reception area. Had to pay before even seing the room (never even had any knowledge of us staying through late rooms, unfortunatly they still had rooms available, after seing the room i wish they hadn't!!!) Room was small, toilets and showers seperate, not in room. Went to hand keys back next day, yet again noone in to hand them to. Do NOT stay here!!

there is no esuite and we were prepared to share bathrooms. but the toilets were very dirty and the facilities are extremely basic. the showers flooded when e turned them on and smelled of sewage. there was black mould up the walls of the shower room. in the end we did no shower. it was disgusting.this is not a hotel but overpriced borstal type accomodation.the staff are friendly enough but we didnt feel the 'hotel' was value for money at all.

Rooms are very basic, but cheap'n'cheerful. Breakfast was decent, but only served between 7 and 8. Water in the cold taps was lukewarm! No loo-roll in the (shared) toilets. Fire alarm went off (false alarm) at both 6:30am and 7:30am :-( meaning I was tired for the whole of the next day.
