Irie Restaurant and Bar located by the beach, offers a variety of local cuisine including seafood, fish, vegetarian dishes, pizza and pasta. The restaurant is open from 7:30am till 11:00pm daily and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Transportation:

Area location includes 8 unique octagonal shaped deluxe villas on the beachside of the property. There are 4 building of 2 storeys each and 4 buildings that are 3 storeys each. The 2 storey buildings house a 1 bedroom villa on the ground floor and 2 superior rooms on the 1st floor. The 3 storey buildings have a 2/3 bedroom villa on the ground and 1st floors and 2 superior rooms on the top floor.

Let me just say this hotel is definitely worth every penny! If you're looking for non-AI. Check in was fast and security always was around. We stayed in the Mandarin room which was right over the pool and hot tub. It was a superior Room. The room was huge! Huge Balcony! Everything on there website is all true. The restaurant and Bar were great too. The food was delicious and resonably priced and the drinks were cheap! Delroy the bartender was the best! Drinks were always strong and he had your drink waiting when he saw you coming! I had jerk chicken and oxtails, both were good. Breakfast was good also. The hotel is located somewhere in the middle of the beach....we were able to walk to both ends of the beach. Will definitely stay at Rondel again!

We arrived in the evening after it had gotten dark, and walking to our room after check-in was like walking through a tropical paradise. The grounds are not fancy or large, but they are beautiful . We had a superior room which was adequate-clean, comfortable, and a nice porch. Beware if you have young children-many of the rooms (like ours) have tiles which get very slick when even the slightest bit wet, but you can ask the staff for an additional beach towel to throw down by the door for when you come in from the beach. All of the staff there was phenomenal. We have never been anywhere on vacation where staff has made us feel so genuinely welcome. It is a small hotel, so they have the ability to go above and beyond with all of their guests. They will even cook one meal per night in the rooms of those people who are in the villas and have kitchens-the maids help plan the meal in the morning and then someone comes by later to cook for you and clean up. There is a restaurant and bar on site-restaurant is expensive but pretty decent. There is a beach within a stone wall where you can lay to either avoid the vendors on the main beach or get shade under the trees. A security guard sits from 7 am- 7 pm by the gate to keep the vendors from coming in. The guards were some of the nicest people I've met and help with anything you need-they pull out a beach chair when you come if there are none out, direct you to good food, etc. The beach outside the wall is small but beautiful. There are vendors that come by, but they really aren't as bad or pushy as one would think. In 99.9% of cases, a polite no will do the trick. The pool on the beach side is really pretty and clean, as is the hot tub. Because this hotel is smaller, you feel like you have the place to yourself. This was helpful to us since we had our 16 month old son, and were concerned about disturbing other guests, but it was quiet enough that we didn't encounter too many other guests. Stayed there 10/21/08 to 10/26/08. Stayed in Kiwi (no room numbers). Actual room OK. AC and fan sufficient (it was hot out). Hot water luke warm at best. Third day there, no hot water. Let it pass. Fourth day same thing. They finally got it fixed in the afternoon. Next day, same scenario no hot water. Three days in a row a little much to deal with. Restaurant and bar on premesis nice. I was paying cash for the restaurant and the bar. One bartender would not give me a check for the bar bill. Wrote it on a paper napkin. When I asked again, he said they did not have bills/receipts for cash customers. He made a big deal out of that. When I got sick of listening to his ragtime, he went over to the restaruant part for fifteen minutes. Came back with something that looked like a rent receipt. At that point I got a little sick of the dude. Pointed out the calculator in his work area, and the receipt book underneath it. Lo and behold he wrote me a printed bill that was labeled CASH CUSTOMERS. Draw your own conclusions. Don't expect to get a decent mixed drink from this party. What you will get if you are observant, is a little wave of the bottle. Bring your own shot glass. Other bartender X was a cool dude, decent drinks. A bit bummed out when we went to supper at 9:30 PM and both the restaurant and bar were closed. This was on a Saturday night. Don't think I would stay there again, or reccommend it to someone I liked.

When we were driving out to Rondel Village we passed the "Grand Paladium." 2000 room exclusive resort created for xenophobes afraid of Jamaica's own culture. Why the hell would anyone want to stay there? Well, I don't know. Money has it's reasons, I suppose. Deeper into Negril, on Norman Manley Blvd you will find many small quaint non-corporate housing options, with real Jamaican staff. Imagine spending your money helping give the people whose land you are stealing a leg up! Seems reasonable. Rondel was awesome. A polite staff, clean rooms, reasonable prices...and the buildings were just beautiful. Surrounded by native flora. The beach was divine. Rondel has twenty some units, so you aren't someone in Building 30 room 320. You'll feel it in the way of personalized service. They hosted a wedding while we were there, which was on the beach. Irie on the Beach (the restaurant) excellent food. If you want a little more of the real culture of Jamaica...this is your spot.

The ladies and I have come to rondel villege two years in a row, and we had the BEST time on our first trip in 07. We booked again for around the same time in 08 and we went. Little did we know the owners granddaughter was getting married, we were not given the option ahead of time to pick another place to stay,or given compensation for the oversight. We only found out about the wedding when we checked in, and our villa was not going to be ready for 2 days. The staff was GREAT as always but the owner and her family were less than welcoming. The restaurant and bar were closed for 2 days and the wedding was right in the middle of the walk way to the beach we felt like intruders the whole vacation with the looks and less than cordial hellos. We are going back to Negril in Oct 09 but we will NOT be staying at Rondel.

I booked with Orbitz and I have been to Negril many times .I therefore did not want to be on the other "non beach" side of the hotel with my two daughters.I called the Orbitz rep and specifically asked if the qoute was on the beach side and was told yes.I called the hotel before we left and confirmed this information. When we arrived after a long trip I aws told "Oh no you are on the other side of the road" . I had to pay an extra 300 dollars . Apparently the staff had emailed Orbitz with the issue which they showed me and no one bothered to answer. I spoke with an Orbitz rep finally and she all but accused me of lying about this fiasco claiming she couldn't "verify" the aforementioned. What a nightmare, exhausted and beat out of 300 dollars and embarrassed in front of my daughters. PS One of my daughters was present during all of my conversations with Orbitz and the hotel. Thanks loads Orbitz!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We stayed in the garden side (non-beach) where the cottages were spaced farther apart and quieter. I would stay there again, the only downside was crossing the road to reach the beach and restaurant. Staff was very friendly, polite, and helpful.

the rondel village was a great place to stay in negril. the staff knew my first name by the end of my first day. security was great and present on the beach to wach your stuff if you wanted to walk down the beach. the food in the resturant was awesome and i ate dinner their every night and lunch was served on the beach and the resturant staff was first rate as the rest of the staff. the complex was also always being cleaned all day. not only you rooms but the exterior as well. i will certainly be stay here again.

Excellent place to stay! Safe, clean, fun! Staff are amazing! Quiet at night so great for sleeping and perfectly located on the beach. The beach area is clean. We love Jamaica! We've stayed on the Garden side twice now - trust me - it is the best! So peaceful. You feel like you are on your own spot in Jamaica. Highly recommend Rondel Village!

The Rondel Village hotel property is lovely, with beautiful lush plant life throughout. Although the buildings are quite close together, the flora and trees have been strategically placed to give the feeling of a private tropical getaway. We stayed on the beach side, and the pool and hot tub were empty most of the time, which was great for us. The rooms were basic, well kept and clean. Rooms have cable TV (good for rainy days) and a refrigerator (good for beer). The only downside is that the area isn't very safe at night, so once the hotel restaurant closes (around 10) you're out of luck for food. We went to the local supermarket and picked up plenty of snacks and drinks to keep in the room during our stay, and it worked out perfectly.

The first time I stayed at Rondel was over 10 years ago, and I keep returning. The hotel owner and her staff are exceptional. The restaurant is great and has excellent food. Authentic Jamacian fare fit for Royalty. I have stayed at all of the different types of rooms at Rondel, good for familys or couples and singles as well-Very secure. Guards keep the higglers at bay while you play. Good beach and Pat is next door ready to give you a massage. XYZ is at Irie on the Beach and ready to entertain and mix excellent drinks. Very good central loaction of the beach, quiet at night away from the loud bars. Honest house keeping staff ,the women have been there for 15-20 years,very helpful if have special needs. I had an accident 3 days before I left and had to be helped and waited on while there. Tips go a long way and they work very hard for them and are greatly appreciated. Beautiful foliage and trees. Good neighbors on each side of resort. (more important than you think). It's and Irie time

This was our 8th visit to Jamaica and our 3 stay at Rondel Village. We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary by renewing our vows on 7 mile beach at sunset. The staff was wonderful to work out all the detail before hand and we had no problems. Everything was decorated beautifully. The minister was a gem. The cake, flowers, all was excellent. Rondel is in the middle of 7 mile beach. You can walk either way for what ever you want, eat, drink, trinkets, it's all right around you. And you also have the beach bar and grill just a few steps from your room. We will visit Jamaica again stay at Rondel Village. We give Rondel 5 stars. Traci and Rodney Young Lexington, NC
