Rodney ReviewExcellent location on Clifton Down Road, in walking distance of both downtown Clifton and all its bohemian charm, but also the suspension bridge and views. Small converted Georgian terrace hotel is quaint, perfectly functional and extremely welcoming. Rooms are great value for money if you book early, even if they are little on the small side (well mine was). Overall though a great spot and great value for money.

Our stay at the rodneyReceptionist was excellent. Area was ideal, with good access to some nice bars and restaurants. Room -a double- was quite small but well appointed. Very hot during the night though and the curtains did not cover the bottom of the window so it meant the room, facing the main road, was very light; not the best nights sleep. We had to be up early to move the car as there is limited parking at the hotel - this is not at all clear from the website- so were down the breakfast at 08:30. However the service was really slow and 2 of the party did not actually recieve their very average full englishs for nearly 45 minutes. Overall a good location and okay hotel but let down by slow food service and lack of attention to detail.

A very pleasant stayA lovely hotel with lots of useful facilities. The only downside is the lack of parking. Lots of nice touches like fruit in yourroom, fresh coffee, cd player and DVD player all help make it a more enjoyable stay especially when you're alone.

The staff at The Rodney Hotel, were pleasant, helpful, and clearly well trained. However ,the hotelwas dirty, dusty, and in desparate need of redecoration.in the public areas. My single room did not have a working lock, the door was difficult to open,as it didn't fit correctly. The bathroom/room had a drain problem resulting in a pungent drain smell, drifting throughout.Thankfully the window worked so I could leave it open!!The hotel has great potential and in room products are of an acceptable standard, let hope the other rooms are better condition.

I should avoid Room 30 (third floor, no lift) in the Summer months as it was so hot, but in all other respects the hotel was fine. The staff were all female under 30 and very charming. The rear garden was a delightful venue for drinks, and the breakfast was very good.

Staff were very polite and helpful during my brief stay, room was extremely hot, needs to be looked at. But very lovely charming place. Recommended

Typical single room, rather smallRoom was small but had everything required. Bed was under the window which was draughty. Fruit which was provided in the room wasn't fresh, it looked like it had been there at least a week.

Easter Monday 2009 - stopped on the way to Cornwall from LancashireA delightful stay in an hotel conveniently situated in Clifton - a few parking spaces available outside for a small charge (expect this at most places in the centre of the city). The hotel is in the process of being re-vamped in a tasteful manner. The restaurant/dining was excellent, although smallish. Full English breakfast was clean (without oil or fat) with high quality sausage (you can always tell a place by its sausages!) We would certainly stay there again. VFM good for Bristol central (but you can get cheaper if you really want to stay outside - but that is hassle if you are visiting the city).

Very good value for money and lovely locationI very much enjoyed my stay here. Nice touches like fresh coffee and fresh fruit in the room. Staff very courteous and knowledgeable about the local area. Only 5 min from great view of the suspension bridge.

FeedbackGreat value hotel in great location. Only gripe was being charged (unexpectedly) for parking outside the hotel.

I was upgraded to a recently refurbished room which was well presented. However the traffic was noisy early in the morning. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. It would be good if breakfast was included in the price.

Overnight stayWelcoming and helpful receptionist. Dining room being painted so not available for supper. Room adequate and pleasant, though duvets instead of blankets would be a great improvement, as would a hook on the bathroom door. Only real complaint was that my door was not lockable from the inside.

As we did not eat at the hotel have assumed average. Hotel in process of refurbishment and the room we had was very adequate and met all our needs.

Really excellent place, beutiful and staff were really helpful. Breakfast was good, only let down by slightly burnt toast and the sausage was a little dry, but not dissapointing by any means. Really enjoyable place to stay.
