I MAKE A LOT OF TRIPS TO MOBILE AND HAVE STAYED IN VARIOUS HOTELS AROUND MOBILE AND SARALAND.THIS HOTEL IS WHERE I WILL BE STAYING WHENEVER I GO TO MOBILE. THE STAFF WAS VERY COURTEOUS AND OUT GOING.THE PEOPLE IN THAT AREA ARE FRIENDLY AND VERY HELPFUL

Where to start? On first glance of our room I was pleased as I had never stayed at a Roadway Inn before. The room was spacious and did come with a fridge and microwave. The clerk who checked us in wasn't rude, but I wouldn't classify her as friendly either (No smile, no enjoy your stay and rather a cool attitude as if she basically didn't want to be bothered). Upon a closer look at our room it was not as great as we first thought. We battled ants the whole time we were there. It took us moving the mattress away from the headboards to discover a pile of garbage and a lovely wad of chewing gum a former 'guest' had left. Now, I don't blame the maid for the 'guest' being a pig, but if WE found the trash...why didn't she?? We obtained some ant spray from the front desk and used it to keep them at bay as best we could. We learned early on NOT to place a do not disturb sign on the door, as that will warrant you NO maid service at all. The maid comes knocking between 7:30 a.m and 8:00 a.m. and if you answer that you are in there she will inform you that the latest she can come back is 10:30 a.m. This is all well and good, but when I'm on vacation I like to sleep in a bit. So, we left the do not disturb sign on the door one night. Slept until 8:30 a.m. with no interruption, left the room by 9:10 and the maid was next door at the time. She saw us leave and when we came back to the room later that day, no maid service. No clean towels, soap, coffee bag refills or even trash emptied. When I went to the front desk to ask for clean towels and etc., the front desk clerk didn't seem to want to give me anything. I explained what had happened and she told me I shouldn't have put the do not disturb sign on the door. I was informed that if you do this, the maid marks it down and moves on. I was just sort of shell shocked and asked again if I might at least get some clean towels, soap and a garbage bag or two. The maid must have caught wind of my complaint because she didn't knock on our door after that, but she started turning off our A/c everyday. It was over 100 degrees the week we were in Mobile and coming back to a room that was stifling was NOT pleasant at all. We never used the microwave in our room because of a huge hole in the front of the oven door. The box springs mattresses had huge stains on their sides that looked pretty disgusting. The continental breakfast was never more than a few little debbies, some stale cereal, apples (never had a different fruit), orange juice or apple juice, milk and coffee. Breakfast is over by 9:00 a.m., but it's nothing more than a quick bite to tide you over before you go out for a real breakfast. The pool is small, but was clean and well maintained. The bathrooms need some updating, as the molding was showing signs of wear and the tub/shower had some stains from age. Do not count on plenty of shampoo, conditioner or such. You get one small bottle of shampoo and one bar of bath soap. So bring your own is my advice. The front lobby area is very well maintained and looks very nice. The exterior of the building is pleasant and well maintained. The desk clerk checking us out was very nice and I wish we had met her at some other point in our stay. The location is good, as we were able to do and see lots of things in the Mobile area without too much extra driving. If you just need a room for a night I guess this would be an o.k. choice, but if you are staying longer there are plenty of other hotels/motels right near this one I might recommend checking out first.

The Roadway Inn tillmans corner was not senior friendly as we had to get our lugage up to the 2nd floor on our own. They did have one lugage cart to help yourself. Breakfast was not worth the trip down stairs.

Staff was friendly. Needed a cart for luggage, there were none. had to carry 10 bags down two flight of steps. It wasok for the price.

Was pleasantly surprised. Facility was right off the interstate, but far enough not to be noisy, nestled in with other hotel/motel and eateries. Felt very safe. All room access was from interior halls. The counter, halls, and room were all very clean and looked well maintained. Breakfast was the usual coffee, muffins, and danish. I highly recommend this loaction and would gladly stay here again.

Stayed here for a week on a vacation in the Mobile area. Staff was friendly and courteous, room was clean, and fridge and microwave in room were good. Breakfast is not great but overall it was a very good experience.

I think a ""Continental Breakfast"" needs more than just Little Debbie snacks. They had cereal, coffee, and tee, but not much else. The staff was helpful, though, and it was a pleasant trip otherwise.

We stayed overnight at a time when the pool wasn't yet open and didn't stay long enough to try out everything, but the room was decent sized and clean. The beds were comfortable and room nicely furnished. Hi-speed internet worked well and the only suggestion I have was that there needs to be more breakfast items to choose from.
