We booked here as a last minute one night stay for our getaway to the grand canyon. We were unable to get two nights at the grand canyon railway hotel (which is very nice, but twice the price), so we stayed here on Saturday night. The room was kind of small, but we really weren't expecting much for a one night stay. The only complaint really is that the bathroom didn't have a heater and the floor was freezing to walk on especially since we stayed during winter time. The location was nice because it was walking distance to the downtown shops and restaurants. The continental breakfast consisted of doughnuts and cereal, but worked out just fine for us. We would stay here again for the night, but I couldn't see spending a whole week here.

When not asked online for smoking preference I "assumed" the hotel was non-smoking, especially since AZ passed the non-smoking law. But when we got there, we were told we had a smoking room and that there were no other rooms available...we asked to go into the room to check how bad the smell was and of course it was unbearable. Without a 24 hr. cancellation notice, we were going to have to pay for the room. We asked that they try to rent the room out and headed to the Grand Canyon for the afternoon. When we returned, a customer coming from the office asked if we would be paying for our room via credit card (odd we thought) and she explained that when paying for her room w/her credit card they had swiped it and then said they would need to go to the back to put it though another machine. She refused to allow them to do that and had paid with cash instead. Fortunately they had rented our room and we were able to find lodging at another hotel. The rooms were barely average and the staff unprofessional.

This was the most comfortable bed ever and the staff was awesome, too. Staff at the front desk were very helpful and friendly.

It is not nice, but its cheap, and its alright for a night or two, if you just need a place to sleep. The breakfeast is donuts and coffee. We had two heaters in the room, but still it was hard to keep it warm, and the hearters where making alot of noise during the night.

This place was a jewel in disguise. It looks like an older drive-up motel from the 60's from the outside. Apparently there are 2 sections to the hotel separated by the mail road through Williams. My room was across the street from the office, in the section where the "Down Towner" sign is. Maybe the other reviews were from rooms on the other side of the street? The girl who check me in was very friendly and helpful. I had a handicap accessible room so it was probably a little larger than the norm. However,it was still small, but perfect for 1 adult. I could tell the room had recently been remodeled, especially the bathroom. It had slate tile floors, brand new dark faux granite counter tops, light fixtures, beautiful tub, etc. There was a flat screen tv on the wall which was a nice touch and saved space in the room. There was a window unit for the AC which I used briefly when I first arrived. The bed linens were new and there were 4 pillows (queen bed) plus 2 decorative pillows. (I say you can usually judge the quality of a room by the number of pillows on the bed,- more = better). I stayed 2 nights and was able to walk to the Grand Canyon Railway Depot easily. And, most importantly, the room was extremely clean. I loved my little room and would most definitely stay there again.
