Basic hotel that is past its prime. A relatively low cost to get close to the USC campus. Typical dated room, dents and dings with a musty odor. Place is tolerable if you just need a bed. Anything else, you should consider paying the extra $15/day at some of the numerous new hotels going up in the city center. Free parking.

Front desk lady nice. Every thing but the front desk lady. do not think this is a hotel for family's to go needs a lot of improvement.

I grew up in Columbia, SC so I am very familiar with this hotel. I now live in Raleigh, NC and was coming back to visit. The rooms leave so much to be desired. The rooms did not feel clean and the shower curtains were browning at the bottom. We bought dinner to go Saturday night and ate in the car because we did not want to sit in that room. The carpet felt so gross that we left our shoes on the entire time while in the room.

There were two intoxicated men using the room next to us. They were sitting outside their room with their beers and talking loudly and using profanity. I asked them not to do this. At first they said okay but they soon resumed their misbehavior. I reported this to the front desk in person. The manager on duty claimed that there could not be anybody in that room, despite the fact that I saw the men sitting outside that room with the door open. Obviously they were using it. Then, after claiming that there could not be anybody in that room the manager called the men and spoke to them. She obviously knew who they were and that they were there. I appreciated her talking to them, but my wife and I have had enough experience with drunks to know that this would not be sufficient. The manager would not give us another room, nor would she call the police to deal with the drunks. My wife and I did not feel safe and comfortable, so I returned the key to the manager. We left and found other lodgings.
