My wife and I enjoyed many of the free aquatic and payed aquatics services that are availble to us and the entertainment by the Rui Taino Group was excellent Mr Carlos Lopez puts on a great show with his band of young entertainers with the heart to put on a great show. My heart felt thanks for a Great time

Riu Taino is not a bad place to stay, but here's a few tips before u go.Beware of the rocks in the water. I had no clue how many rocks are there and i hurt my knee very badly, later i saw ppl with the same scratches on their body from the rocks. Walk a little up or down the beach - you'd be able to enjoy swimming without trauma. Learn to get up early!! if u want to reserve a nice place next to pool or beach get up before 7am. not very convinient when u on vacation. There are not enough shades, so ppl always looking how to find a better place to sit. Before booking and planning your vacation make sure your chosen time is not during rain season. you'll not enjoy staying their during rainy days - absolutely nothing to do, except watching tv and dining. shows are boring, and music just terrible - everyday there was the same records over and over again, very annoing. Make sure to take enough of sunscreen and after-sun lotion. My husband and i got terrible sunburn despite sunscreen, had to go to a local shop and buy after sun lotion for like a small bottle. little overpriced. If u stilll decide to go here, make sure to learn some spanish, because only a few staff members know english good enough to communicate. be sure to put your stuff in safe box. we found our room invaded by somebody couple times, and once we discover a bottle of pepci broken into small pieces of glass in our suitecase - it was just awful!! i had no clue who could that be. next time we found the door wide open and nobody was there.

This is a great all inclusive resort. There were more options than we could ever take in (food, games, entertainment, beach spots, etc). I would highly recommend this place. Most of the other vacationers were Europeans from different countries. It really felt like a 'worldly' vacation spot. Great value.........

My husband and I went here after staying a few nights a Barcelo Punta Cana (very nice - same price), and our RCI Resort - Occidental Grand Flamenco (Superb). We were disgusted with the pool it smelled like beer, we couldn't swim up to the bar, all of the teenagers took over the bar from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Our room was okay, but would definately upgrade if I were you if you care to stay here. All of the guests were from Germany, France, Netherlands, Holland, and Cuba. Nobody spoke english. We found 1 couple after 5 days who spoke english from the US. The staff doesn't try to accommodate us not speaking spanish and disregards what we say or ask. The shows were horrible. They are all want-to-be stars and have a long way to go until they get it together. The bars are smokey, the restaurants are smokey, they had just a few restaurants we could go to. The steakhouse was the best. The Mexican was authentic, but too much for my stomach. The Italian wasn't really Italian??? Our room was next to the bottling room where they changed the refrigerators every day and all we could here was clinking of bottles and NO sleep. If you stay at Rui, upgrate to the Palace. We walked over there and snuck in. Naimbio was horrible too. It was just a place for teenage buddies to go and party for cheap for the weekend. Body Piercings, drugs sales, weird colored hair, tatoos galore. It was a DIVE. My husband and I wished now we stayed at Riu Palace and paid the extra 65 per night. It would have been worth it . . . or stay at a different resort. The staff didn't speak english.

A friend and I spent 5 days at Riu Taino in Punta Cana. It was everything I had read about. The resort was truly all-inclusive, no hidden charges. And we had so much fun! If you like activities, there are many things to do, or you can just lay on the beach or by the pool all day. Eat and drink as much as you like, and great water aerobics to work it off. We felt totally safe, and only made one excursion off the resort to go diving. It was a good day, but very expensive. This is a great place for families with children, for couples, and for singles. Very European, so skimpy bathing suits are the rule. The staff were friendly and helpful, food was good, and I just loved the multi-cultural feel of the place.

My husband and I spend four nights here as a "babymoon" before our second child is born. We arrived late in the afternoon and, after checking in, were taken on a long walk to our room. The room was very simple and the beds were horrible. There was one double bed and one twin bed. I've never seen anything like this in my life. Needless to say, my husband and I slept in separate beds the whole time. And they were extremely uncomfortable with the flatest pillows I've ever seen. I wasn't crazy about being on the ground floor and this was confirmed when I saw ants in the bathroom. We walked to the front desk and asked to be moved. They said nothing was available until the morning, but they would send someone to take care of the ants. They took care of it by spraying a chemical that I'm sure a pregnant woman shouldn't have been sleeping in. The food was also disappointing. While the buffet provided plenty of options, it seems we saw the same thing every day for breakfast and lunch. And it was just okay. (The smoothie bar in the morning was our favorite) The a la carte dinners were nothing special at all. What they called a filet mignon, was nothing I've ever seen before. It's not like we starved, but good food is important to us on a vacation and this was not. My husband also had an issue with the alcohol. Since it's an all-inclusive resort, he was convinced there was very little, if any alcohol in the drinks. This included the beer which was only available on tap. And don't expect any name brands, it's all local. The positive side to this hotel was the beach. We've traveled a lot and this was one of the most beautiful beaches we've ever been on. The sand and water were both very clean and you could always find a seat. Great beach for walking. This is what made our vacation. Otherwise, I would probably not go back to this resort.

The service, the beaches, the access to the other hotels on the resort property were all fantastic. The food and beverage were moderate-good and the Taino seemed to be the oldest of the Riu Hotels. The value and beautiful beaches made it more than worth it.

The Rui Taino makes for a nice vacation. The staff was wonderful and the beach was amazing. Our room was nice however I heard some other people complaining at the front desk about the condition of their room(rusty shower ect.) The food was always available and there was a great variety. The worst part of the trip was Coco Tours. The represenative was never available when she was soposed to be and therefore we missed our aquatic tour. The beach and staff was the best part of the trip. There was only one beer at the bar and it was on tap.

We got an instant upgrade from the Riu Taino to the Palace Macao at no extra cost perhaps because we are loyal members of Riu or the fact the the Taino was overbooked. The Riu Palace Macao was a pleasant surprise. The room was very clean and the size large with a nice balcony overlooking the swimming pool area. The TV could have been a more contemporary flat screen instead of the 19 inches tube TV which looked sort of outdated, other than that we had no complaints. The staff was extremely courteous and friendly. The food was superb and we really liked the classy atmosphere of the main dining room. We tried the Japanese restaurant -reservations needed- and it was just OK, so we decided to stay at the excellent main dining room which offered better quality and choices. Plenty of entertainment options including casino and evening shows made our stay very enjoyable. A place to return to recharge batteries at least once a year.

"Pool and beach are its best assets. Food is worst aspect. Expect to eat the same thing every night, no gourmet. Drinks are very limited. Rooms are ok, the bed was hard, minibar is actually just a little fridge that they put pepsi and beer in. Beware of people trying to sell stuff around the hotel...they really over price the stuff and its the same things you can find on the shopping street within the complex, for a lot cheaper! If i came back, I would pick a different Riu. "

We just loved our time at the Riu Taino. The food was well prepared and altho did not vary much from day to day, the variety was incredible - and service staff top notch. The staff was friendly, helpful - service-oriented. If I could give any complaints, it would be that the rooms have one double bed and one single bed in them (that is all that is available). Sleeping in a double bed is no problem for my husband and myself, but some people may not like that. We took advantage of the water sports available, using a catamarin about daily, and a few times using the windsurfers. We also snorkelled out a-ways - mostly dead reef, but some interesting formations. We did not go to the nightly indoor entertainment as, for one, smoking is allowed in there and that was excessive, plus, the entertainers were just locals doing dancing for the most part. But, we did listen and dance to the DJs and band provided and do some other beach activities. It was a blast and we'd go there again in a heartbeat.

"This is our second time to Riu Taino and we will return again. For a casual, fun vacation, this is the place. From the entertainment, the beautiful beach and pool, friendly, accommodating staff from maintainance to entertainers and everyone between,all were welcoming and attentive. The Security and safety made us feel comfortable to walk anywhere on the complex day or night. The organization between the airline, the resort, and the ground transportation made an exceptionally easy transition around the island."

We just got back from a wonderful vacation at the Riu Taino. Great resort-clean, beautiful, amazing staff, so much to do. From check in to check our week in Punta Cana was full of picture perfect moments. Definitely looking forward to staying at other Riu resorts in the future.

"This was my first time at an all-inclusive resort; I usually find one-of-a-kind, out of the way places to stay. I traveled with 1 teen & 1 20-something and a nice time was had by all. The resort(s) is well maintained, has a broad selection of food, nice beach & pool area, and helpful, multilingual staff. There were many Europeans (many topless) to add an additional international flavor to the already tropical mix. I would go to Punta Cana again. (Do not fly into Santo Domingo; it's 4 hrs away. Fly into Punta Cana.)"

the Taino was very friendly. all the reviews I read about the resort were true to form, the beach was only seconds from the resort reception area. My checkin to the resort was completed within two minutes upon arriving and checkout took even less time. The beach was very clean and beautiful. there were plenty of activities to be involved in if you didnt want to be laying around we had a great time and everyone was friendly and always with a smile.

"I had never been to Punta Cana before last year the trip was recommended. Have been recommending this trip to everyone at this hotel. It was wonderful. The staff was so friendly, they keep the beach clean as well as poolside. Try the massage on the beach they are to die for. I am going again this year. HAD A BALL!!!"

The beds are VERY uncomfortable. Rooms need updated. The pool is beautiful and the ocean is very close. Good hotel for the price but if I go to punta cana again, I will probably pay a little more and stay somewhere else.

"Riu Taino offers budget accommodations at a luxury resort. The beach is exquisite with white sands, warm water and gentle waves. The all-inclusive food and drink is varied and decent though definitely not gourmet. The entertainment is rather corny. "

This is the first all inclusive place I ever went to and it was great! The place was nicely kept. The beach is beautiful. The staff was more than helpful and even though it is a Spanish speaking country, I did not have that much problem getting things that I needed. The food is ok -- nothing to write home about but speaking to other people who went to other places, it seem better than average. I am a vegetarian and there was more than enough for me to choose from. Overall, I was very satisfied. I loved the liquor dispenser right in the room!!! The only negative i found was a bug in my room but please, we are in the Carribean. It was a great vacation and what was special about Rui, because there are 4 other hotels, you can walk around the other 2 (if you are not in a Palace) and gives you more places to walk around.
