GREAT staff, nice buffets in dining room and poolside. Lots of activities and energy. wish the hotel was located on the beach but the private beach club was nice. we could go to other Riu hotels and swim but couldn't drink there. as for the beach club cafe--NEED ICE!!! and more beer. But again, the STAFF were the BEST PART!

We stayed two weeks. Met wonderful people from France, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands. The resort is perfect, a warm cozy atmosphere. You can walk to Playa, and the othere Riu in under 1/2 hour. All the staff was helpful and friendly. Recommend it to anyone.

the hotel was clean, staff was excellent, it is a small hotel, the dining for all meals was excellent the dining room staff worked very hard. only thing that was between meals they had a snack bar open, will a very limited menu.

The staff is truly the best part of the Riu Lupita. The rooms were nice and the food was good. Not on a beach but a efficient shuttle takes you to a quiet beach club and you also have access to the beaches at the other Rius

The Riu Lupita is a small family friendly hotel. This hotel is not on the beach, there is transportation to their beach club every half hour. There is animation around the pool all day and at one occasion during the week, the animation team do a beach party at the hotel beach club. I have to say the food was very good. There is only a buffet retaurant and only 1 a la carte estaurant. Unfortunitly both are open, so no air conditioning...last stay in june was very very uncomfortable at lunch and diner because of the hot weather. Bedrooms are very small and old. Bathroom is really tiny. Nignt shows are ok. some good some just ok.

The stay was merely satisfactory. We had to wait almost an hour for the buffet to be replenished. I also found hair fried into the bacon duing breakfast. The front staff's response was, Oh sorry about that!

We stayed 4 nights here and then 4 nights at an entirely different hotel in Cancun. We would definitely go back to Riu Lupita. It had a very friendly ambiance as one walks outside to all the amenities, and all the dining facilities are outside too. It is modest and not very fancy, but this was fine with us. I was impressed with the food selection and the entertainment every night was great. A shuttle takes guests to the downtown area or the beach or near one of their other hotels every half hour. This actually became fun to explore other areas. One felt a part of a private community and we got to know quite a few of the other guests who tended to be from all over the world.

riu lupita is in a good location to shopping and they make it very easy to get to the beach and other areas in the surrounding area. it is less expensive than the other riu hotels but if you take advantage and visit the other hotels itw well worth the small walk or free trolley ride
