This is a very nice hotel. The room service food was above average, but not fantastic. The dining was good but not outstanding. The room sizes are very small. The positive is the view and outdoor hot tub are fantastic. The staff was professional and friendly. I would stay here again.

Absolutely stunning cliff-side inn with gorgeous views of the Pacific. The facilties were impeccible and the staff were at your beck and call. The grounds are maticulously landscaped and capture the essense of Northern California. I visited during late June and found the weather to be very cool escpecially at night. My room was so beautiful and clean, it was hard to leave it, even with the magnificent views outside beckoning me away! Half-moon Bay is quite a distance from San Fransisco and I wouldn't recommend staying here if you plan on visiting the city more than once during your stay. Otherwise, this a treat for most anyone who wishes to get away from it all or be all alone with that special someone.

In the area on business, and decided to book this property because of my past experiences with the Ritz in other cities. As expected, no disappointment here. Quiet, pleasant surroundings. Deluxe bedding, many quality upscale ammenities. One slight problem: Valet damaged my Hertz rental, and immediately called ME. A few moments later, the valet and the hotel manager came to my room with an apology, and made arrangements DIRECTLY with Hertz to obtain another vehicle, and arranged further to pay ALL damages. Upon check out was quite surprised when my AMEX charge was cancelled, and my one night stay was complementary (including breakfast) due to the car damage issue. Have used the Ritz for years, and will continue to do so because they REALLY DO CARE for their guests.

I had my wedding here this summer and I finally realized why a Ritz Carlton is the best in the world. This hotel is by far the best I have stayed at and I have been around the world and back again. Here is what I love. THE FOOD: amazing, can i say that again, amazing. Everything i have ever eaten here was perfect, in all the restaurant and I was here for several days and had my wedding which they catered. I recommend the sunday brunch because it is the largest and best I have ever had.Then there is the view and atmosphere. Breathtaking. Some of the rooms just have amazing views of the ocean and some actually have fireplaces right out side for you to relax by your private fireplace and look at the ocean. I do not recommend kids because there is not a lot to do here for them. And lastly is the Service: outstanding. I did not know they could have service that good. I garuntee the stay you have here will be one of your best.

We booked this trip as a long weekend getaway, once we got there, we wished we could have booked it for a longer stay. The property is just beautiful, the views from our room were amazing. We will definately be back soon!

"This hotel is everything you would expect from a Ritz Carlton. The location on the beach is breathtaking and you are waited on hand and foot upon arrival (with a glass of wine no less). Beware the dry cleaning, it's expensive and they ruined one of my husband's shirts. Beautiful rooms and the resort fee is completely worth the use of all ameneties."

Valet completely ignored us on numerous occasions. Our Ocean view room had a mouse in it that chewed up our bottled water and tea bags.

"For my bf and I, it cost almost $200, we had no wine, ordered one appetizer and entree each and shared a desert. The portions were so tiny that we had to order room service afterwards. My bf literally ate his rib eye in 10 seconds. They were the most miniscule medallions of meat you've ever seen. I took about a minute, sadly chewing my duck breast and thinking, the flavor is great, but i'm so hungry i don't care. To have a truly hearty meal there, you would need at least 8 entrees to one person, which would cost you hundreds. "

The Ritz in Half Moon Bay is awesome. It's really on a great piece of land right on the beach with pretty much it's own beach that you can walk to as well. I loved it and can't wait to go back. It's amazing!
